  • We are dealing with the Bayes' rule education tool with Excel Macro and its usage example. When an event occurs, we are interested in whether it does under certain conditions or not. In this case, we use the Bayes' rule to calculate the probability. Bayes' rule is very useful in making decision based on newly obtained statistical information. We introduce an efficient self-teaching educational tool developed to help the learners understand the Bayes' rule through intermediate steps and descriptions. The concept and examples of intermediate steps such as conditional probability, multiplication rule, law of total probability, prior probability and posterior probability could be acquired through step-by-step learning. All the processes leading to result are given with diagrams and detailed descriptions. By just clicking the execution button, users could get the results in one screen.

  • In this study, we gave 132 high school students fifteen probabilities and nine statistics problems of the Korean College Scholastic Aptitude Test and then analyzed their answer using the classical test theory and the item response theory. Using the classical test theory (the Testian 1.0) we get the item reliability ($0.730 \sim 0.765$), and using the item response theory (the Bayesian 1.0) we get the item difficulty ( $-2.32\sim0.83$ ) and discrimination ( $0.55\sim 2.71$). From results, we find out what and why students could not understand well.

  • According to the operation guide book concerning the educations of Information Communication, Art for Primary and Middle school issued by Ministry of Education, Korea, 2001, it revealed many things as to an Spread Sheet's paradigm, that is, as to an useful program in Science, Practical course, Moral, Physical education and Society. However it can be said that the existing Spread Sheet is more or less unconvenience to use for pupils. Because most of pupils generally feel constrained to the functional formula and also when a complicated menu of Spread Sheet would be made the most of it. Moreover, from a certain point of view, it is somewhat too difficult to use the program as they feel intuitionally taking a look at it. This very thesis in order to support a part of probability and statistics for pupils were observed sincerely.

  • This study developed teaching and learning materials for an integrated education program of probability and genetics in the light of connections between mathematics and biological science. It also analysed characteristics of high school students' mathematical activities which appeared while the students took part in lessons where the developed materials were contributed in order to teach them. To achieve the aim, this study firstly specified five details for the development of the materials based on the results of previous research and extracted contents of probability and genetics which had the possibility of being taught in the integrated education program by examining the text books. After embodying the teaching materials according to the five details and the extracted contents, the researchers implemented 10 lessons by using the materials. This study elaborated some implications for a succeeding integrated education of mathematics and biological science in term of anlaysis results of features from the students' mathematical understanding and attitudes emerging in the lessons.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the factors affecting the chemotherapy medication errors made by new nurses and to use the results as basic data for the development of a chemotherapy medication nursing education program for new nurses. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted with 189 new nurses working at a general hospital and a tertiary general hospital in Korea. The data collection period was from January 11 to February 7, 2021. The data collected during this study were analyzed using the IBM SPSS statistics version 25.0 program. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, and logistic regression analysis. Results: One factor influencing chemotherapy medication errors was new nurses' educational needs (odds ratio=.18, p=.005). As educational needs increased, the probability of making errors in medication was reduced by .18. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop a chemotherapy medication education program tailored to the educational needs of new nurses by considering the education period, method, and content, with a focus on the content with high demand from new nurses.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to develope elementary mathematics teaching-learning programs for pre-service elementary teachers. The elementary mathematics education program developed in this work is divided into two parts: One is the theory, the other is the practice. The theory deals with the foundations of mathematics, the objectives of mathematics education, the history of mathematics education in Korea, the psychology of mathematics learning, the theories of mathematics teaching and learning, and the methods of assessment. With respect to the practice, this study examines the background knowledge and activities of numbers and their operation, geometry, measurement, statistics and probability, pattern and function.

  • Background: Parental attention is crucial for preventing childhood oral diseases. Mothers play a significant role in maintaining their families' oral health, and their educational level influences their children's oral health behaviors. This study investigates the impact of mothers' educational levels on adult oral health behaviors using data from a national survey. Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional analysis of secondary data. The data used were obtained from the 8th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Descriptive statistics were calculated to identify participant characteristics. Next, t-tests and one-way analysis of variance were conducted to examine the effects of the explanatory variables on the distribution of the dependent variable. Finally, logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the influence of the explanatory variable on the dependent variable, using "no education" as the reference value, and calculate the odds ratios. Results: Children of mothers with a college education or higher had a 1.13 times higher likelihood of receiving oral examinations than those whose mothers had no education. Children whose mothers graduated from college or higher had a 2.23 times higher probability of receiving preventative dental treatment than those whose mothers had no education. Children whose mothers graduated from college or higher had a 1.92 times higher probability of receiving scaling than those whose mothers had no education. Children whose mothers graduated from high school had a 1.35 times higher probability of receiving scaling than those whose mothers had no education. Conclusion: Developing oral health programs is important for low-educated and low-income parents to change theirs and their children's oral health behaviors/attitudes. This will help reduce oral health disparities among adults raised by parents of higher and lower socioeconomic statuses. Therefore, a comprehensive approach is essential for adults to maintain good oral health, regardless of variations in their parental educational levels during childhood.

  • The current mathematics curriculum are consist of the following domains: 'Characteristics', 'Objectives', 'Contents', 'Teaching and learning method', and 'Assessment'. The mathematics standards which students have to learn in the school are presented in the domain of 'Contents'. 'Contents' are consist of the following sub-domains: 'Number and Operation', 'Geometric Figures', 'Measures', 'Probability and Statistics', and 'Pattern and Problem-Solving' (Elementary School); 'Number and Operation', 'Geometry', 'Letter and Formula', 'Function', and 'Probability and Statistics' (Junior and Senior High School). These sub-domains of 'Contents' are dealing with mathematical subjects, except 'Problem-Solving' at the elementary school level. In this study, the sub-domain of 'mathematical process' was suggested in an equal position to the typical sub-domains of 'Contents'.

  • The purpose of this study is investigating the various properties related with mathematical processes in the mathematical essay lessons, analyzing the positive changes of students, and proposing an example that the mathematical essay lessons can be a model for changing traditional mathematical lessons. To carry out the research, mathematical essay questions were developed based upon the high school mathematics curriculum in probability and statistics domain. Eight 12th graders were participated for the research. Variety of properties related mathematical problem solving, reasoning, and communication in the lessons were appeared. The research conclude that mathematical essays are helpful not only appearance of general properties related mathematics process, but also appearance of properties that would be low chance of developed.

  • The purpose of this study is to find research areas that were less represented by the researchers of mathematics textbooks and to provide feedback for the research and development of mathematics curriculum and textbooks. In order to complete this study, we analyzed comparative studies of mathematics textbooks published in Korean. This study analyzed 107 comparative studies published until recently based on following aspects: countries studied (North Korea, U.S.A., and Japan), Math curriculum studied (6th and 7th mathematics curriculum), and Math contents studied (probability and statistics) and etc. The result of this study suggests that the content area of creative problem solving was particularly less represented by the studies published and require more concern from the mathematics education researchers
