The subjects were 220 nursing students in a junior college in Chonnam and an applied Quasi-experimental research methodology was used thirty of them comprised an experimental group to examine learning according to the teaching method. Wata were collected over 80 days, from April to June 1988, analyzed using descriptive statistics, percentages, means, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression with the SAS program. The conclusions are as follows. 1. The mean score of the degree of knowledge achievement of aseptic technique of the 220 students was 0.68(possible score 1.0) before the lecture but was 0.88 after lecture(p=.000). 2. The mean score for aseptic technique of the 220 students was 3.41(possible score 5.0) before practice but was 4.27 after practice(p=.000). 3. The correlation of self-confidence before and after practice was relatively low(r=.25, p=.000). 4. The mean score of the degree of knowledge achievement of aseptic technique in the experimental group(selected 30 students) was 0.72 before the lecture but was 0.90 after the lecture. 5. The mean score of self-confidence on aseptic technique in the experimental group(selected 30 students) was 3.18 before practice but was 4.32 after practice(p=.000). 6. The mean score of learning according to the type of teaching to aseptic technique for the experimental group(selected 30 students) was 23.2(possibel score 34) after lecture and presentation, was 27.3 after learning through video tape, was 31.7 after presentation through practice, was 33.7 after first practical training, and was 34 after secondary practical training. • The objective of this research is to develop education and training systems for IS department and user department personnel, which is essential to effective implementation IT(information technology) strategies in most of organizations. In order to achieve this research objective, first this study theoretically derives six categories of education and training based on comprehensive review of the previous research, and explicates concrete items for each category. And then, with respect to each of these items, we empirically investigate the degree of necessity measured by the gap between the required level of knowledge and skills which staff members should have for effective implementation of IT strategies and the present level of them which they really have. Field survey is employed for the data collection: 270 questionnaires are distributed to the companies in private and public sectors, and 196 questionnaires are collected in useful condition and are analyzed. The findings of this research shows that six dimensions of education and training are empirically derived by factor analysis as following: (1) general knowledge for organizational overview, (2) management knowledge and skills, (3) knowledge and skills of the specific information system which IS department and user department personnel are directly involved in developing and operating, (4) knowledge and skills for strategic use of IT, (5) general knowledge and skills for IT and (6) advanced expert knowledge and skills for specific IT. And the degree of necessity turns out to be statistically significantly different among six dimensions of education and training needed by IS department and user department personnel respectively. Also for each dimension, the degree of necessity is shown to be statistically significantly different between IS department and user department personnel The results of this study can provide the theoretical basis for constructing the IT education and training system for effective implementation of IT strategies, Also they can be used as a practical guideline in developing and promoting specific IT education and training programs in real organizations.

  • The purpose of this paper is to disclose the characteristics of knowledge in the age of digital reproduction. To achieve this I extended Benjamin's concept of technological reproduction to three different stages as mechanical reproduction, electric reproduction and digital reproduction. Each stage has different degree of reproducibility and de-materialization. I also combined McLuhan's concept of the electricity at the point of de-materialization with reproducibility. The degree of materiality and reproducibility is the key concept which could scale the technical condition of knowledge production. The social condition of knowledge reproduction is controlled by economic and political factors. In this connection between technological and social condition the current knowledge production and intellectual property could be explained properly. This study could open the theoretical door to deepen such an understanding.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of Critical Thinking Strategy supporting argumentation activities between learners. The research question is whether the form of Critical Thinking Strategy offered to support meaningful interaction of collaborative argumentation between learners influences the knowledge acquisition, learning outcome, and student satisfaction. For this, the collaboration outcome of the group, the level of individual knowledge acquisition, the level of students satisfaction were measured as outcome of argumentation activity and their differences analyzed. This study concludes the following: A comparison of the group that was provided with Critical Thinking Strategy (test group) and the group provided with general argumentation scaffolds (compared group) showed there wasn't statistically significant differences in the quality of the learning outcome of collaboration between the groups and in students satisfaction. But there was significant difference in the degree of individual acquisition depending on the offering of scaffolding for Critical Thinking. Therefore, as premised in this study, supporting meaningful mutual interaction between learners during collaborative argumentation using Critical Thinking Strategy has a positive influence on the individual acquisition of domain knowledge. The group provided with scaffolding for Critical Thinking gained higher effect in the degree of knowledge sharing and individual acquisition of domain knowledge compared to the group provided with general argumentation scaffolding.
