  • Objective: The possibility that smoking prevalence among junior and senior high school students may decrease with increasing mobile phone bill was reported by the mass media in Japan. We conducted a nationwide survey on adolescent smoking and mobile phone use in Japan in order to assess the hypothesis that mobile phone use has replaced smoking. Methods: A total of 70 junior high schools (response rate; 71%), and 69 high schools (90%) from all over Japan responded to 2005 survey. Students in the responding schools were asked to fill out an anonymous questionnaire about smoking behavior, mobile phone bill, and pocket money. Questionnaires were collected from 32,615 junior high school students and 48,707 senior high school students. Results: The smoking prevalence of students with high mobile phone bill was more likely to be high, and that of students who used mobile phones costing 10,000 yen and over per month was especially high. When "quitters" were defined as students who had tried smoking but were not smoking at the time of survey, the proportion of quitters decreased as the mobile phone bill increased. The proportion of students who had smoking friends increased with the increase in the mobile phone bill per month. Conclusion: The hypothesis that the decrease in smoking prevalence among Japanese adolescents that has been observed in recent years is due to a mobile phone use can be rejected.

The Effects of information security perceptions of collaborative system managers on intention to use SBOM(Software Bill Of Materials) : Focusing on the Theory of Planned Behavior (협업시스템 담당자의 정보보안 인식이 SBOM(Software Bill Of Materials) 도입 의도에 미치는영향: 계획된 행동이론을 중심으로)

  • Advances in technology have made it easier for organizations to share information and collaborate. However, collaboration systems where multiple entities share and access information are vulnerable to security. The concept of Software Bill Of Materials (SBOM) has emerged as a way to strengthen information security by identifying and transparently managing the components of software programs. To promote the adoption of SBOM in Korea, this study investigated the intention to use of collaboration system managers. This study was based on the theory of planned behavior and the integrated technology acceptance theory. The results of this study confirmed that performance expectations from SBOM adoption were an important variable for intention to use, and positive attitudes toward security also had an indirect effect through performance expectations. We found that SBOM adoption has an important causal relationship with performance due to the fact that it is targeted at enterprises, and that positive attitudes toward security and social climate can have a strong effect on intention to use.

  • Regarding the improvement of the dental specialist program, two related issues were reviewed extensively: (a) bill amending portions of the Medical Service Act as proposed by national assemblywomen Choi Yeong-hui (Democratic Party) and Chung Mi-gyeong (Grand National Party), and; (b) Plans to supplement the submitted bill. Although the existing bill's prospects in the assembly are unclear at this point, both the existing and planned supplementary bills zero in on two points: (a) specialists must focus on providing care only in their respective expertise, and; (b) a distinction between the roles played by the primary, secondary, and tertiary medical institutions must be made to help establish clearly the country's overall health care system. In addition, proposals were made for medical license renewal among specialists so that professionals can offer better health care to customers.

  • In construction management, BoQ(Bill of Quantities) has been commonly used for the cost estimation. However, many problems have been recognized about the work items used in the BoQ that could be varied by the experience and knowledge of the estimators or the project. Also, there are lots of work items that have to be written in BoQ even though the cost proportion of those items is relatively lower than the others. In this study we consider the way how to organize optimally the work items through the analysis of case. The results of this study could be useful for improving the efficiency of preparing construction BoQ and conducting Quantity take-off in our construction management practices.

  • This thesis examines the problems faced in the electronic bill of lading for which improvements are necessary, and suggests various ways of overcoming those problems. First, to build a negotiation system for electronic B/Ls, active participation from related parties in addition to the government support is essential. Second, electronic B/Ls cannot be utilized within a short period of time in current commercial practices. Third, there should be infrastructure which connects all parties of international commerce through an electronic system. Fourth, instead of promoting mutual recognition through international treaty, there should be a plan which legally specifying mutual recognition between certification authorities. Fifth, it is needed to ease the strictness of electronic signature to promote the global negotiation of electronic B/Ls. Lastly, in prima facie weight of evidence, there was a significant difference with the Rotterdam Rules even in comparison with the Commercial Act which was amended with the significantly advanced rules on electronic B/L. He believed there should be a discreet consideration on these matters at the revision of the Commercial Act. For this, the government has to provide support more aggressively with more interest and commitments.

  • In order to succeed in e-Trade Project in Korea, the related parties endeavor to introduce the e-title registry model such as Bolero model(Title Registry Model) and TEDI model (Repository Service Provider Model). Prior to mentioning the Model of e-Title Registry, desirable Global e-Trade Platform is the platform connecting Global e-Trade Platforms in each country and Bolero's Core Messaging Platform and e-Title Registry must be established in each country. Each e-Title Registry must be connected with another registry. Like Korea, Recognized Electronic Document Repository must be established as proxy for preserving, attesting, carrying out sending and receiving electronic document to prevent from disputes between parties and to carry out notarizing electronic documents and related transaction. The purpose of this paper is to promote the introduction of e-Title Registry in the e-Trade and to streamline the procedures of the electronic bill of lading.

  • As construction projects become larger and more complex in the construction environment, and as the Building Information Model(BIM) is technically introduced, the demand for construction costs in units of space is increasing. Cost estimating of spacial element can reduce the error in cost prediction method based on cost of work type and to utilize the construction cost data for each space in the design phase. The purpose of this study is to extract spatial statements by utilizing spacial information of quantitative statements based on items that are common elements of the Quantity Take-Off and Bill of Quantity.

  • The purpose of this article is to study on the electronic bill of lading in the electronic trade era. The term 'electronic trade' means all or part of any such trade as implemented by means of apparatus having the information processing capability, such as a computer, and networks of information and communications. The introduction of an electronic bill of lading has long been considered essential by the members of the international trading community as a key means of reducing its costly reliance on paper.

  • The power consumption pattern of high-speed railway has rarely during night time. But, during service time, the power is consumed irregularly related to train operation. Especially certain unusual about 1-2 days of service time interval to indicate the power consumption is rapidly growing phenomenon, which causes the capacity of the power contract is the annual electricity bill to rise rapidly as the cause. Normally, amount of peak power consumption bill rate at railway substation is over 20% of total electrical bill. Therefore, high-speed railway substation is expected to be considerably larger savings by reducing the peak power of the default charge(demand power).

  • Tobacco sales enterprises often need to summarize and verify the daily sales bills, which may consume substantial manpower, and manual verification is prone to occasional errors. The use of artificial intelligence technology to realize the automatic identification and verification of such bills offers important practical significance. This study presents a novel multi-branch residual network for tobacco sales bills to improve the efficiency and accuracy of tobacco sales. First, geometric correction and edge alignment were performed on the input sales bill image. Second, the multi-branch residual network recognition model is established and trained using the preprocessed data. The comparative experimental results demonstrated that the correct recognition rate of the proposed method reached 98.84% on the China Tobacco Bill Image dataset, which is superior to that of most existing recognition methods.
