The purpose of this study is to argue that religious maturity is necessary for the healthy life of the aged of Korean churches in the rapidly aging society. It is also to suggest educational method for the formation and development of a positive image of God for relations with God, which is essential factor in religious maturity. To this end, this study argues that the direction and task of senior education should be religious maturity through the search for prior research on church education of senior citizens. This study also looked at the variables involved in how religious maturity affects many areas of human life. To achieve the task of religious maturity, the biblical and theological concept of maturity and religious psychological concepts of maturity are summarized, and the concept of God's image for relations with God, which is important in religious maturity, and the variables related to mature human life are examined. This study was proposed methods of church education for the formation and development of a positive image of God in order to have the right relationship with God for the religious maturity of the elderly on intellectual, emotional and behavioral levels. In the intellectual aspect, it was proposed to educate the concept of biblical and theological God and and to educate the elderly to recognize themselves as beings that need to grow and mature in order to constantly establish relationships with God. In the affective aspect, it was proposed to educate the elderly to reflect on and identify the origin and formation process of God's image and to heal their distorted God's image with an educational counseling approach. In the behavioral aspect, it was suggested to educate their roles of faith education for the next generation as parents and grandparents and to educate using educational methods that induce them to practice their relationship with God to appear in daily life.
The purpose of this study is to define the key competency as Christian(in another word: Christian key competency) and to interpret the six key competencies of the 2015 revised curriculum in a Christian educational way. Also as an alternative to the key competencies model of the 2015 revised curriculum, this study aims to materialize the formation of a Christian key competencies model based on Christian faith. This study derived 'faith' from the key competencies as Christian throughout preceding research analysis. The 'faith' of the key competencies as Christian means the ability to know oneself, and to know the world and God within the knowledge of the Bible (knowledge of God) in the personal relationship with God, and also it is the ability to think, judge, and act with biblical values, Christian world view, and Christian self-identity. The key competency 'faith' could be the basis (standard) of motivation, attitude and the value of all competencies in cultivation and exercise. The model of Christian key competencies has the structure in which each six key competencies become to be cultivated based on the Christian key competency called "faith." Based on the structure, the six key competencies of the 2015 revised curriculum were interpreted and explained from the perspective of Christian education. In the self-management competency, self-identity can be correctly formed in relations with transcendent God. In aesthetic emotional competency, the empathic understanding of human beings comes from the understanding of the image of God, the supreme beauty, the source of beauty. About the community competency, human community is the source of God who created the universe, human and all of things. It is because a Christian community is a community within the relationship of Trinity God, Nature and others. Therefore regions, countries, and the world become one community. Communication competency first stem from good attitudes toward yourself and others with respectful mind. It comes from an understanding of Christian human beings. Also, there is a need of having a common language for communications. The common language is the Bible that given to us for our communicative companionship. Through the language of the Bible, God made us to know about God, human being and the creative world, and also made us to continue to communicate with God, others and the world. For having the knowledge-information processing competency, a standard of value for the processing and utilization of knowledge and information is required. The standard should be the basis of moral and ethical values for human respect. About creative thinking competency, the source of creativity is God who created the world. Human beings who have the image of God own creative potential. As well as, creativity has different expression forms depending on individual preferences and interests, and different approaches will be made depending on each individual's importance and achievement. Individual creativity can be found through education, and it can be embodied by converging knowledge, skills and experience.
We Koreans are very proud of this nation's cultural history over some five millenniums. But most of the relics found in the nation date back up to two thousand years. Under this circumstance, we are wondering the gap and missing of three thousand years. In our traditional literature of history, [Chiwoo] was a military god of supreme dignity and virtue. He was a symbol of brave and strong warriors and since the antiquity, he has been kept alive deeply in the mind of the Korean race. Considering findings through this study, the researcher could provide a conclusion as described below. 1) The name of Paekje's designed tiles was initially made by a Japanese scholar who had first found the antique relic. According to studies by a few of Korean researchers, the name is usually called despite its relation with a historical background of the excavated objects has not been fully studied. 2) After the patterned objects of the Korean antique Kingdom, Japanese researchers reported that [Chiwoo] was a military god as exorcist and probably represented something in the form of a ghost, although there were arguments that the military god was the very being to influence the image of the ghost. This report suggests that the Japanese community didn't downgrade the military god onto the level of a ghost. 3) One of our antique nations, Paekje at that time sought to determine the origin and culture of the Koreans by making multiple exchange relations with China, and probably accepting cultures of the Chinese Han nation and those of the Chinese South and North Dynasty period. Based on findings from a relevant literature, [Sulyigi], people of Paekje attempted to show express the image of Chiwoo in their own unique ways and then deliver the strong bravery of [Chiwoo] to us, or their descendents. This can explain that those findings as above mentioned are consistent with the designed tiles of Paekje, and that the tiles should not be named as the design of ghost. 4) The designed tiles involved elements of Taoism and Buddhism and substantially considered the spirit of four gods which was mobilized for the tomb construction and selection at that time. But this should never be a reason why all of the horned figures seen in tomb wall paintings are collectively treated as ghosts. 5) From the view of historic literature, we can no doubt say that the Heavenly Emperor [Chiwoo] was our ancestor. It is not better to say that the relic stuffs as excavated should be referred to the design of ghost image only in that they have yet to be associated historically with other relics. This claim would be newly changed as it becomes clear with historical remains that our antique ancestors kept doing positive activities along the coast of the antique kingdom, Balhae.
Recently performing arts pursue a new rootage of the collective intelligence that seeks experimental thinking and diversity in creative convergence. Understanding in this way the concept of artist's horizontal creation structure and individual communication of the public, this study tries to analyze ${\ll}God's\;Eye\;View{\gg}$, an example of convergent performing art. The result of analysis is as follows. The convergence in performing art could be approached through experiential thinking and diachronic of artists by genre, and the interpretation and its value of the result of work be shared horizontally. ${\ll}God's\;Eye\;View{\gg}$ express a dynamic communication and meaning of poetic image, and shows the experimental creation of convergence and the individual communication ability of collective intelligence as a new value of convergence.

This study examines King Louis XVI costumes and his portraits according to symbolic meanings. This study analysis of costumes comes from portraits related various domestic and overseas literature, preliminary study papers, and web sites. Omnipotence, activity, nobility, openness and benevolence were distinguished in the symbolic meaning expressed in the portraits of King Louis XVI. Louis XVI in a portrait was drawn with god or expressed as a martyr and symbolically showed the omnipotence of god. Louis XVI was symbolized as almighty god by maximizing the authority and dignity of the king through the hands of justice that were used as a background or portrait accessory and a costume with the symbol of House of Bourbon. Kings of many generations were expressed as authoritative through portraits. However, Louis XVI showed a proletarian aspect in ordering portraits to reflect the daily working image of communicating with citizens. Active images such as the king riding a horse or administering the state affairs were emphasized in a political and military perspective; in addition, the benevolence of the king was symbolically presented through a family portrait. This symbolically signified that the king is a warm-hearted person who passionately takes care of state affairs and loves the people through a noble element coming from pastel colors and attributes of red colors. Historically, the political incompetence and indifference of kings was fragmentally emphasized; however, these portraits considered the king as one who tried to fulfill duties as the true king with a great interest in politics and the people.
The myth reflects the human way of thinking about the world. Therefore, an important part of myth is human creation and role. This study examines the process of human creation in myth and discusses implications for education. The subjects that can be considered from the viewpoint of education are as follows. The status and role of teachers and students, the relationship between teachers and students, how to create or create humans, and the purpose and results of human creation. First, it is the position and role of the teacher. In myth, being like a teacher is a divine being that transcends human ability. In Dangun mythology, Hwanwoong or Shinwoong descended from heaven, and in the Genesis it is the Creator God. In Dangun mythology, the role of the teacher guides the way of becoming a human and provides necessary tasks. In Genesis, the image of the teacher is the Creator God. God plays the role of a teacher who prepares various environments in which learners can work. Second, the status and role of students in myths. In Dangun mythology, students are symbolized by bear and tiger. They go to the teacher with the desire to become human beings. In Dangun mythology, the student is not a passive existence but an autonomous and active image. In Genesis, the appearance of a student is a passive being created by a teacher. Third, the creation of human beings in myth can be seen in terms of educational process and method. In Dangun Myth, the beginning of education is the wish or expectation of learners. Learners eat mugwort and garlic and participate in human learning. In Genesis 1, however, there is no need for a special method, since human beings are created according to the Creator's command. Fourth, the purpose of education can be discussed through the purpose of human creation. In Dangun mythology, the purpose of education is not to live according to instinct but to become human with culture and personality. In Genesis 1, the purpose of human creation is the role of the Creator in creating and managing the world. Therefore, it is the aim of humans to manage the world in an orderly manner. The purpose of education in Genesis 2 is to enable humans to serve the world.
This paper is an attempt to explain the interpretation of P. Ricoeur on the theory of power of Saint Paul. P. Ricoeur tried to reinterpret Saint Paul's thoughts on the power of a nation, the purpose being to link this theory to salvation through the social system. Ricoeur expands this interpretation of political power to the economy and culture. The basis of these ideas is the 'imago Dei' namely the image of God. I would like to consider the image of God as the key to salvation through social system, politics, economy, and culture.
This study examines the God, Jiutian Yingyuan Leisheng Puhua Tianzun (九天應元雷聲普化天尊, 'The Supreme God of the Ninth Heaven, Celestial Worthy of Universal Creation through His Thunderbolt, the Originator with Whom All Beings Resonate' in Daesoon Jinrihoe), in terms of narrative imagination, by investigating the narrative of Wen Zhong (聞仲) in Investiture of the Gods (Fengshenyanyi 封神演義) and the narrative of Kang Jeungsan (姜甑山) in The Canonical Scripture (Jeongyeong 典經). This examination occurs along three dimensions: Firstly, I look into the cultural contexts of the image of the Thunder God (雷神) in Gojoseon (古朝鮮) mythology and the Korean seondo (仙道) tradition both of which are reflected in the narrative of Wen Zhong. At the same time, I also argue that the cultural contexts examined above are able to be found in the narrative of Kang Jeungsan. Secondly, I consider the essential meaning of the concept of "deifying" (封神) in the narrative of Wen Zhong and its connection to "the resolution of grievances" (haewon 解冤) in the narrative of Kang Jeungsan. Thirdly, I consider the traits of embracing heterogeneous things (異類) in the religious group "Jiejiao" (截敎) that Wen Zhong belonged to in relation to the values of "mutual beneficence" (sangsaeng 相生) that Kang Jeungsan pursued. In this study's conclusion, I posit that the "mentalité" of Dong-yi (東夷) culture and tales including Yin (殷) is identifiable in narrative imagination applied to the God, Jiutian Yingyuan Leisheng Puhua Tianzun. This means that the nature of Jiutian Yingyuan Leisheng Puhua Tianzun is closely related to the tradition of Korean seondo and Korean Daoism.
Recently, religious communities have devised multiple practical training programs for spiritual formation and direction. In this study, we define Christian spiritual formation as a lifelong journey of growing, progressing, increasing and strengthening toward wholeness in the image of Christ. In dialogue with J. Edwards' theology of spiritual sense, this essay suggests three major points of holistic spiritual formation in depth: first, spiritual Formation is a process; second, spiritual formation should attend to the balance between God's Initiative and Human Agency; third, holistic spiritual formation is a process to seek God-self. Spiritual formation is not a static status acquired by several techniques, methods or programs. It is a formative process through which one prepares to comprehend divine love and purpose. Spiritual formation is a dynamic process to respond to the One who shapes our life path with increasing faithfulness. Holistic comprehension of Christian spiritual formation will assist postmodern people to find meaning, value, purpose, and identity through deeper experiences with God in the midst of the fragmented and troubled world, so that they could restore wholeness in the image of God.
