Analysis of Multivariate Financial Time Series Using Cointegration : Case Study

  • Cointegration(together with VARMA(vector ARMA)) has been proven to be useful for analyzing multivariate non-stationary data in the field of financial time series. It provides a linear combination (which turns out to be stationary series) of non-stationary component series. This linear combination equation is referred to as long term equilibrium between the component series. We consider two sets of Korean bivariate financial time series and then illustrate cointegration analysis. Specifically estimated VAR(vector AR) and VECM(vector error correction model) are obtained and CV(cointegrating vector) is found for each data sets.

  • Traditional ecological driving (Eco-Driving) evaluations often rely on mathematical models that predominantly offer subjective insights, which limits their application in real-world scenarios. This study develops a robust, data-driven Eco-Driving evaluation model by integrating dynamic and distributed multi-source data, including vehicle performance, road conditions, and the driving environment. The model employs a combination weighting method alongside K-means clustering to facilitate a nuanced comparative analysis of Eco-Driving behaviors across vehicles with identical energy consumption profiles. Extensive data validation confirms that the proposed model is capable of assessing Eco-Driving practices across diverse vehicles, roads, and environmental conditions, thereby ensuring more objective, comprehensive, and equitable results.

전수데이터를 생성하는 빠른 콤비나토리얼 프로그램 (Fast Combinatorial Programs Generating Total Data)

  • 이 논문은 콤비나토리얼 문제인 조합(combination)과 순열(permutation), r-순열(r-permutation) 규칙에 의거하여 전수데이터를 생성하는 빠른 프로그램과 알고리즘을 다룬다. 이들 프로그램은 전수데이터 검사나 시뮬레이션의 입력값 선정과 같은 응용에서 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 조합, 순열, r-순열 문제의 규칙을 만족하는 프로그램들을 수집하여 부문별로 가장 빠른 프로그램을 선정하고 추가연구를 통하여 수집된 프로그램보다 수행시간을 단축한 프로그램을 완성하였다. 본 연구를 위해서 다음과 같은 선행조사가 이루어졌다. 첫째 인터넷에 공지된 백 개 이상의 프로그램을 수집하고 완성하였다. 둘째, 확보된 프로그램을 구동하여 수행시간을 측정하였고, 그 결과 가장 빠르게 수행하는 프로그램을 부분별로 발췌하였다. 셋째, 선별된 가장 빠른 프로그램에 대해서 알고리즘을 설명하고 의사코드로 정리하였다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기초작업을 토대로 수행시간이 단축된 프로그램을 완성할 수 있었다. 첫째로 조합 문제에서는 재귀형식에서 비재귀형식으로 변형시켰고, 둘째로 r-순열 문제에서는 조합 프로그램과 순열 프로그램을 결합하는 방법으로 수행시간을 단축하였다. 분석결과에 따르면 전자와 후자는 수집한 가장 빠른 프로그램에 비해서 수행속도를 각각 22%에서 34%, 및 62%에서 226%의 범위로 개선하였다. 본 논문에서 제공한 의사코드를 바탕으로 응용에 쉽게 적용시킬 수 있으며, 전수조사 방법에 소요되는 수행시간을 예측하여 전수조사의 타당성 여부를 결정할 수 있다. 또한, 제공한 코드를 바탕으로 최소의 시간으로 전수데이터를 생성할 수 있다.

비재생혼합보증이 종료된 이후의 비용과 비가동시간에 근거한 교체정책에 대한 베이지안 접근 (A Bayesian approach to replacement policy following the expiration of non-renewing combination warranty based on cost and downtime)

  • 본 논문에서는 비재생혼합보증이 종료된 이후의 교체정책에 대한 베이지안 접근을 고려한다. 이때, 비재생혼합보증은 비재생무료교체보증과 비재생비례교체보증의 혼합된 형태가 된다. 최적의 교체주기를 결정하기 위하여 기대비용과 기대비가동시간에 근거한 기준이 사용되는데, 이를 위해서 단위시간당 기대비용과 단위시간당 기대비가동시간이 각각 구해진다. 시스템의 고장시간이 불확실한 모수를 갖는 와이블분포를 할 때, 베이지안 접근에 근거하여 최적의 교체정책이 제안된다. 이때, 최적의 교체주기를 결정하기 위해서 Jiang과 Ji (2002)에 의해서 제안된 총밸류함수가 사용된다. 끝으로, 본 논문에서 제안된 베이지안 교체정책을 설명하기 위해서 수치적 예를 살펴본다.

Douglas Peucker 근사화 알고리즘과 빈 분류 기반 벡터 맵 데이터 압축 (Vector Map Data compression based on Douglas Peucker Simplification Algorithm and Bin Classification)

  • Vector data represents a map by its coordinate and Raster data represents a map by its pixel. Since these data types have very large data size, data compression procedure is a compulsory process. This paper compare the results from three different methodologies; GIS (Geographic Information System) vector map data compression using DP(Douglas-Peucker) Simplification algorithm, vector data compression based on Bin classification and the combination between two previous methods. The results shows that the combination between the two methods have the best performance among the three tested methods. The proposed method can achieve 4-9% compression ratio while the other methods show a lower performance.

전신성 캔디다증에 대한 산사자 추출물과 Fluconazole의 병용요법에 의한 항진균 상승효과 (Synergistic Antifungal Activity against Disseminated Candidiasis by Combination Therapy of Crataegi Fructus Extract and Fluconazole)

  • In recent, there are increasing reports about pharmacological activities of Crataegi Fructus which has been used for many centuries as medicinal and food sources in East Asia. However, its antifungal efficacy needs to be investigated. Thus, in the current study, we determined synergistic antifungal activity of the Crataegi Fructus extract (CFE) when combined with fluconazole (FLC) against disseminated candidiasis due to Candida albicans. This fungus is one of the most problematic fungal pathogens. Data resulting from a microdilution susceptibility test showed that CFE had a dose-dependent antifungal activity. When the extract was combined with FLC, the activity was synergistic. For example, the antifungal activity by the combination of CFE at $20{\mu}g/ml$ plus FLC at $0.1{\mu}g/ml$ was 4 times more effective than antifungal activity by FLC alone at the same concentration (P<0.05). In the murine model of disseminated candidiasis, the combination therapy potentiated resistance of mice, resulting in 80% of C. albicans-infected animals surviving the entire period of 40 days observation, whereas mice given CFE alone or FLC alone all died with 17 and 23 days, respectively, although they survived longer than the untreated control animals (P<0.05). The CFE's antifungal activity seemed to be related to the blockage of hyphal production of C. albicans yeast cells. In summary, CFE has a synergistic antifungal activity, which can be produced by combining CFE with FLC. Thus, our data strongly indicate that CFE may be a potential candidate as an antifungal agent for combination therapy.

이중매핑모델에 의한 칼라배색 시뮬레이터 구축에 관한 연구 (Study on Color Coordination Simulator based on Dual Mapping Model)

  • 정보처리기술을 활용한 칼라 감성 시뮬레이션이 상품개발 지원시스템으로서 개발, 활용되기 시작하고 있다. 칼라배색 등을 결정하기 위한 시뮬레이션 시스템에서는 감성평가실험을 통해 구축한 데이터베이스를 이용하여 배색후보들을 제시하는 것이 일반적이다. 그러나 이들 방법에서는 시스템 이용자(디자이너나 사용자)의 취향이나 선호도, 혹은 이용자 상호간의 감성적차이(gap) 등을 고려하여 최종 배색후보를 결정해 가는 과정까지는 지원하고 있지 않다. 이와 같은 점에 주목하여 본 연구에서는 시스템이 초기 배색 후보군을 생성한 다음, 디자이너가 다양한 배색 시뮬레이션을 함으로써 목적으로 하는 최종 배색후보를 결정해 가는 과정을 지원하는 칼라배색시뮬레이터를 제안하였다. 이 시뮬레이터는 디자이너가 시스템과의 커뮤니케이션에 의해 디자이너의 취향과 선호도에 맞는 배색을 탐색할 뿐만 아니라 검색자가 최적이라고 판단하기 용이한 환경을 제공함으로써 시스템이 검색자의 판단을 지원하는 디자인지원시스템의 성격을 가진다. 칼라 배색시뮬레이터는 디자이너의 사고과정을 모델화 한 이중매핑 모델(Dual Mapping Model)에 기초로 두고 구성되었으며, 칼라컨셉설정$\longrightarrow$배색후보군 생성$\longrightarrow$배색 시뮬레이션$\longrightarrow$최종배색 후보의 순위결정 등의 4단계에 걸친 조작으로 칼라 디자인과정을 지원하게 된다.

소규모 주거 공간 실물화재실험을 통한 적재 가연물의 연소특성 분석 (An Analysis of Combustion Characteristics of Residential Facilities through Real Fire Tests in a Small Residential Space)

  • In this study, real fire tests were performed on representative combustibles of residential facilities to analyze the fire behavior and combustion characteristics in a small residential space. The considered combustibles were a sofa, a combination of a desk and a chair, and a combination of a mattress and an electric mat. A compartment space fire test was performed using the room corner test equipment prescribed in the KS F ISO 9705 specification. Three real fire tests were conducted by placing the combustible material inside a small compartment with insulation and finishing materials and by igniting the combustible material. Results showed that the peak heat release rate and peak smoke production rate occurred in the combination of the mattress and electric mat. Furthermore, from the result of the fire rate analysis, it was estimated that the fire risk of the mattress and electric mat combination was the highest, followed by the sofa and thedesk and chair combination.

시상증후군(Thalamic Pain Syndrome) 환자의 한방 병합치료에 관한 임상적 고찰 (Clinical Study of Combination Treatment of Oriental Medicine on Thalamic Pain Syndrome)

  • Objectives : To evaluate the pain control effect of combination treatment of Oriental Medicine on patients who suffered from thalamic pain syndrome caused by thalamic stroke. Methods : We reviewed the medical records and brain imaging data of all patients with thalamic stroke from September 1998 to August 2000 who visited to Department of Oriental Internal Medicine, National Medical Center. We evaluated clinical features of thalamic pain syndrome, including incidence, onset interval from stroke, nature, pain distribution, and assessed the pain control effect of combination treatment by Visual Analog Scale(VAS). Results : 64 cases were selected under the inclusion criteria, and 17 patients(26.5%) with thalamic pain syndrome were identified from 64 thalamic strokes. VAS proved combination treatment effective to control pain of thalamic pain syndrome. In 12 cases(70.5%), pain onset was within the first week poststroke. The patients with allodynia were 6(35.3%). In 12 cases(70.5%), the lesion was mainly located in the posterolateral areas of thalamus. Conclusion : We conclude that combination treatment of the Oriental Medicine modalities have pain control effectiveness on thalamic pain syndrome.(t=-5.47, p=0.0001)

Improving Combination Cancer Therapy by Acetaminophen and Romidepsin in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Cells

  • Combination chemotherapy is more effective than mono-chemotherapy and is widely used in clinical practice for enhanced cancer treatment. In this study, we investigated the potential synergistic effects of acetaminophen, a common component in many cold medicines, and romidepsin, a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, in the A549 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell line. The combination of acetaminophen and romidepsin also exerted significant cytotoxicity and apoptosis induced by activation of caspase-3 on tumor cells in vitro. Moreover, combination therapy significantly induced increased production of chemokines that stimulate migration of activated T-cells into tumor cells. This mechanism can lead to active T-cell mediated anti-tumor immunity in addition to the direct cytotoxic chemotherapeutic effect. Activated T-cells led to enhanced cytotoxicity in drug-treated A549 cells through interaction with tumor cells. These results suggested that the interaction between the two drugs is synergistic and significant. In conclusion, our data showed that the use of romidepsin and low concentrations acetaminophen could induce effective anti-tumor effects via enhanced tumor immune and direct cytotoxic chemotherapeutic responses. The combination of acetaminophen with romidepsin should be considered as a promising strategy for the treatment of lung cancer.
