An analysis on the Earth geoid surface variation effect for use of the tilt sensor in celestial navigation system

  • The celestial navigation is one of alternatives to GPS system and can be used as a backup of GPS. In the celestial navigation system using more than two star trackers, the vehicle's ground position can be solved based on the star trackers' attitude information if the vehicle's local vertical or horizontal angle is given. In order to determine accurate ground position of flight vehicle, the high accurate local vertical angle measurement is one of the most important factors for navigation performance. In this paper, the Earth geophysical deflection was analyzed in the assumption of using the modern electrolyte tilt sensor as a local vertical sensor for celestial navigation system. According to the tilt sensor principle, the sensor measures the tilt angle from gravity direction which depends on the Earth geoid surface at a given position. In order to determine the local vertical angle from tilt sensor measurement, the relationship between the direction of gravity and the direction of the Earth center should be analyzed. Using a precision orbit determination software which includes the JGM-3 Earth geoid model, the direction of the Earth center and the direction of gravity are extracted and analyzed. Appling vector inner product and cross product to the both extracted vectors, the magnitude and phase of deflection angle between the direction of gravity and the direction of the Earth center are achieved successfully. And the result shows that the angle differences vary as a function of latitude and altitude. The maximum 0.094$^{circ}$angle difference occurs at 45$^{circ}$latitude in case of 1000 Km altitude condition.

  • Attitude Control System for a Hydrofoil type catamaran in wave is designed using a Decentralized Adaptive Control technique which is announced already by authors. This automatic attitude control system is designed for its good seaworthiness and for robustness on the variation of center of gravity. The performance is compared with a PID controller and the results show that the Decentralized Adaptive controller has better stability on the variation of the center of gravity.

  • In this paper, we confirmed the yellowish gravity-mura phenomenon in Fringe-Field Switching (FFS) mode using 2-D simulation. As the cell gap increases, while the LC efficiency of blue wavelength remains almost same, that of red and green wavelength increases continuously. As a result, yellowish phenomenon occurs.

  • 본 논문에서는 감마선원 영상화를 위한 감마선 탐지장치에 적용할 차폐체의 구조 변경에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 선행 연구를 통해 상용 감마선 영상화 장치의 차폐체와 차폐효율은 유사하지만 경량화 그리고 무게중심을 이동시킨 차폐체를 구현하였다. 본 논문에서는 모션 제어장치의 효율적인 동작을 위해 차폐체를 변경하였다. 차폐체 설계를 위해서 MCNP 전산모사를 수행하였으며, 그 결과 약 15%의 경량화 및 무게중심을 차폐체 중심으로 이동시키는 결과를 얻었다.

  • Radio occultation (RO) has been used in the planetary science since Microlab-1 was launched in 1995. With the RO technique, the profiles of atmosphere and the global atmospheric data can be obtained. In 2006, Taiwan launched six low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites as the RO constellation mission, known as FORMOSAT-3. In order to retrieve the RO data from original data, a retrieval algorithm, NCURO, is developed. The input of NCURO algorithm is mainly the excess phase of GPS signal, and the output is the dry pressure and dry temperature. Using temperature profiles retrieved by NCURO algorithm, temperature perturbation and potential energy of gravity wave have been evaluated. In this paper, the retrieval algorithm and the global distribution of energy of gravity waves are described and demonstrated.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the changes in centers-of-gravity (COG), acceleration and body posture and their associated effects both on EMG and on the maximum capability of weight lifting during Clean & Jerk and Snatch motions. Displacement, velocity, acceleration of joints were obtained from film analysis. Also levels of exertions on 11 major muscle groups were obtained from EMG analysis during a lifting cycle. The EMG data were measured from Telemetry System which is useful in field experiments. Magnitude and direction of force, change in center-of-gravity were extracted from COG data which were measured from force platform. The results of this study can be to be useful both to coaches and to athletes in weight-lifting.

廢自動車 ASR의 風力 및 比中選別에 의한 處理 硏究 (Treatment of ASR from End-of-Life Vehicles by Air and Gravimetric Separation)

  • 폐자동차 ASR으로부터 염소성분을 제거하기 위하여 풍력선별 및 비중선별 실험을 수행하였다. 또한, ASR플라스틱만을 분리하여 물을 매체로 한 비중선별을 실시하였다. ASR 시료는 모두 8 mm이하로 재분쇄하여 선별실험에 사용하였으며, 플라스틱은 3가지 입도로 나누어 비중선별 실험을 하였다. 풍력선별은 공기유량 9~20 M$^3$/hr 범위의 1단계와 공기유량 25~34 M$^3$/hr 범위의 2단계로 나누어 실시하고 각 산물의 비율과 재질분포를 조사하였다. 1단계 풍력선별후 underflow 산물의 비율은 62~66%인 것으로 나타났으며, 공기유량이 큰 2단계 풍력선별에서는 overflow 산물의 비율이 크게 증가하였다. 폐플라스틱만을 대상으로 한 비중선별 실험결과 부유물질이 침강물질에 비해 다소 많게 나타났으며, 염소함량에 있어서는 최대 수백개의 염소함량 차이를 보여 순수 플라스틱의 경우 매우 우수한 염소함유 재질의 분리효과를 얻을 수 있었다.

Gravity wave activities in the polar region using FORMOSAT-3 GPS RO observations

  • FORMOSAT-3 was launched in April of 2006. It consists of six low earth orbit (LEO) satellites that will be eventually deployed to an orbit at 800 km height. Its scientific goal is to utilize the radio occultation (RO) signals to measure the bending angles when the GPS signals transect the atmosphere. The bending angle is then used to infer atmospheric parameters, including refractivity, temperature, pressure, and relative humidity fields of global distributions through inversion schemes and auxiliary information. The expected number of RO events is around 2500 per day, of which 200 events or so fall into the polar region. Consequently, the FORMOSAT-3 observations are expected to play a key role to improve our knowledge in the weather forecasting and space physics research in the polar region. In this paper, we use temperature profiles retrieved from FORMOSAT-3 RO observations to study the climatology of gravity wave activity in the polar region. FORMOSAT-3 can provide about 200 RO observations a day in the polar region, much more than previous GPS RO missions, and, hence, more detailed climatology of gravity wave activity can be obtained.

다중 마스킹과 무게중심법을 기반한 AGV용 가이드 센서 신호처리 (Signal Processing of Guide Sensor based on Multi-Masking and Center of Gravity Method for Automatic Guided Vehicle)

  • AGV에서 가장 중요한 부품은 가이드 센서이며, 이 센서의 대표적인 기능은 정밀한 주행경로 추출이다. 가이드 센서의 정밀도에 낮거나 잘못된 주행 경로를 추출한다면 AGV가 충돌하거나 AGV 제어에서 좌·우 흔들림이 발생되어 적재물이 낙하, 주행경로 이탈 등의 문제가 발생한다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해 본 연구에서는 다중 마스킹과 무게중심법을 이용한 가이드센서 신호처리 기법을 제안하고 구현하여 그 성능을 평가하였다. 그 결과, 직진경로 및 좌/우 분기 경로 추출의 평균오차가 2.32[mm]를 보였으며, 특히 기존의 무게중심법 보다 27[%]이상의 성능개선을 보였다. 이와 같이 제안된 가이드 센서 신호 처리 기법을 적용한다면 AGV 자세 제어와 주행 안정성이 향상될 것으로 사료된다.
