Sensibility Image Scales for Korean Traditional Motifs

  • The objectives of this study are to develope sensibility image scales for Korean traditional motifs by quantitatively measuring their images and preference and to classify them into clusters. Data were collected via a questionnaire from seven hundred twenty five Korean undergraduate students. Re experimental materials were forty eight stimuli of Korean traditional motifs with different categories, interpretation types, composition types, and application objects. The instruments consisted of 7-point polar semantic differential scales of twenty three bipolar adjectives including preference. Data were analyzed by correspondence analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test. Re major results are as follows; image scales for textile patterns and dress designs using Korean traditional motifs were constructed. The axes of sensibility image scales for both textile patterns and dress designs were defined by quality level and degree of simplicity. Second, four clusters on the scale of textile patterns and two clusters on the scale dress designs were identified. Third, in the case of textile Patterns, the preferred cluster had high-quality and classical images, while the cluster that was not preferred had a complex image. In the case of dress designs, the preferred cluster had simple and high-quality images, while the cluster that was not preferred had complex and low-quality images.

A study on the Hand and the Sensibility Image of Preferred Underwear Textiles

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the preference of the hand and the sensibility image of underwear textiles according to seasons. According to a recent survey of 109 college students, using a 7 scale evaluation to the preference of the hand and the sensibility image among 13 summer and 10 winter underwear textiles. The data was analyzed through mean, SD, factor analysis, t-test, Person correlation analysis and regression analysis using SPSS Win 11.0. The summer underwear textiles were classified according to six tactile factors: stiffness/surface unevenness, weight, elasticity, moistness, extension, and warm-cool and 3 sensibility image factors: elegant individual, modern, and sporty-casual. The winter textiles were classified according to six tactile factors: stiffness/surface unevenness, elasticity, warm-cool, drapability, moistness and flexibility and divided into 2 sensibility images: modern elegant and sporty-casual. Factors expressing hand and sensibility image according to season showed significant difference. In the summer, weight, in the winter, drapability and flexibility showed significant difference at the hand factor evaluation. The hand factors: weight, warm-cool and modern sensibility image factors effect the preference of summer underwear textile, also the hand factors-elasticity, stiffness/surface unevenness and the sensibility image factor-easy-sport-casual-effect the preference of winter textiles. Therefore, the thin, light, and cool textiles which are also gorgeous and sporty-casual are preferred for summer underwear textiles while soft, simple and comfortable textiles are preferred for winter textiles.

텍스타일 디자인 요소에 따른 감성 분석 (Sensibilities according to The Design Factors of Woven Textiles)

  • This study aimed to investigate the effect of design factors of woven textiles on the consumer's sensibility and emotion. 60 textile design pictures and 18 adjectives were prepared to get responses from 512 adult subjects. Textiles designs were analyzed into 9 design factors, such as, motif source, motif-background ratio, motif interpretation, motif arrangement, motif variation, motif articulation, hue contrast, value contrast, and chroma contrast. The results are followings: 1) The design factors of textiles were connected to other design factors, for example, the type of motif interpretation determined the type of chroma contrast, motif source, the ratio, and chroma contrast significantly. 2) The correlational coefficients of the ratio, motif variation, chroma contrast, hue contrast, articulation, and value contrast were positively signed significantly. 3) Consumer's sensibility was changed in urban, natural, graceful, mannish, young, dynamic, new, modem and etc, as the textile designs were changed in motif source, arrangement, hue contrast and etc.

남성복 스타일 이미지에 대한 평가와 선호에 관한 연구 (A Study of Consumer Evaluations and Preferences for Men's Fashion Style Image)

  • This paper is to study pertinent consumer evaluations and preferences of fashion depending upon human sensibility. Focus is placed on quantifying consumer's sensibility through the sensibility analysis of men's fashion. The subject are 227 male and female university students of who take the course of "Modern Life and Fashion" and "Understanding of Colors" in the OCU Cyber University. Data has been collected by survey method and subsequently analyzed and interpreted. To measure consumer's consuming sensibility, G-Sensibility tool developed by 'Fuji Central Institute' has been employed. The results of the analysis of ANOVA and MANOVA show significant differences among the following 5 styles: Active style G2, Open-minded style of G-3, Mania style of G4, Sensitive and emotional style of G5. According to ${\chi}^2$ test, the results show that the distinction of sex and their interests in fashion are significant different. The evaluation of men's fashion, according to Multi-dimensional test, shows a variety of differences according gender and G sensibility styles. These varied distinctions are illustrated statistical in Picture 1, Picture 2, Picture 3, Picture 4, Picture 8, and picture 10. Based art the results, a follow-up study to develop the case study and the apply it's results are recommended to produce products placed in the market.

디지털 크래프트를 적용한 텍스타일 디자인의 감성평가 (Emotional Evaluation of Textile Design Using Digital Craft)

  • 현재 텍스타일 분야는 활용 범위가 확장됨에 따라 감성과 같은 비물질적인 가치에 관해 관심을 두는 연구들이 증가하는 추세를 보인다. 본 연구의 궁극적인 목적은 디지털 크래프트를 적용한 텍스타일 디자인의 감성적 의의에 초점을 맞추어 실증 연구를 통해 디지털 크래프트를 적용한 감성적 텍스타일 디자인의 생성 가능성 및 활용방안을 제안하는 것이다. 본 연구에서 개발한 주관적 평가 스케일을 통해 측정한 평가결과를 바탕으로 디지털 기술을 적용한 텍스타일 디자인과 디지털 크래프트를 적용한 텍스타일 디자인의 차이를 비교하여 통계적으로 의미가 있는지를 검증하기 위한 실증 연구를 진행하였다. 실험 결과, 디지털 크래프트를 적용한 텍스타일 디자인 작품에 대한 감성 생성 가능성과 활용방안에 대한 몇 가지 의미 있는 시사점을 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 에스닉한 감성은 유의한 수준은 아니지만 3번의 비교 분석에서 모두 증가하였다. 둘째, 모던과 클래식한 감성은 모두 감소하였다. 셋째, 디지털 텍스타일 머신과 디지털 텍스타일 머신과 크래프트의 비교 분석에서 펀한 감성이 유의한 차이로 증가함을 보였다. 넷째, 3D 프린팅과 3D 프린팅과 크래프트의 비교분석에서 엘레강스가 유의미하게 증가하였다. 따라서 디지털 크래프트를 적용한 텍스타일 디자인은 사용한 디지털 기술 방식에 따라 에스닉, 펀, 엘레강스한 감성의 전달이 가능할 것으로 예측된다. 본 연구를 통해 도출한 결과를 텍스타일 디자인 개발과 생산 단계에서 적절하게 사용한다면 감성적 텍스타일 디자인의 개발을 위해 효과적으로 작용할 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 본 연구의 결과는 디지털 크래프트를 통한 감성적 텍스타일 디자인에 대해 객관적인 자료를 제공함으로써 향후 학계뿐만 아니라 실무에도 중요한 시사점을 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

G감성유형에 따른 점포선택행동에 관한 연구 - 점포속성, VM요소, 점포충성도를 중심으로 - (Importance of Store Attribute, VM factors, and Store Loyalty by Consumers' G Sensibility Types for Apparel Store Choice)

  • This study investigated store attributes, VM factors, and store loyalty for store choice behavior by G sensibility types. A total of 425 usable questionnaires were obtained from students who enrolled at universities in Busan, Korea. For data analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis, ${\chi}^2$-test, and ANOVA were conducted by using SPSS 10.1. The major results were as follows: First, G sensibility was classified into five types: G1(My pace type), G2(Active type), G3(Whimsical type). G4(Mania type), and G5(Sensational type). Particularly, G3 was most highly observed in male and female groups. Second, there was significant difference in the importance of store attribute, such as merchandise assortment among G sensibility types. Third, there were significant differences in VM factors of store image, physical facilities, and display and layout among G sensibility types. Especially, G5 type consumers considered store image, physical facilities, and merchandise display and layout more importantly, than did the other types. Fourth, there was significant difference in store loyalty among G sensibility types. This study discussed managerial implications of visual merchandising strategy for apparel retailers.

인터넷 패션 쇼핑몰의 감성요소와 화면구성요소 만족도에 따른 포지셔닝 맵 (A Positioning Map according to Satisfaction of Sensibility Elements and Screen Composition Elements of Internet Fashion Shopping Mall)

  • The purpose of this study was to construct positioning maps according to satisfaction of sensibility elements and screen composition elements of internet fashion shopping mall by using multidimensional scaling (MDS). A questionnaire and internet-site surfing was used for this research, and 200 responses were used for data analysis. MDS analysis showed the satisfaction levels of 10 sensibility elements and 5 screen composition elements satisfaction for 8 selected internet fashion shopping malls.
