Although it is the first transportation method to apply the 'Ground Effect' applied to aircraft to ships, WIG ships, which are classified as 'Ships' operating on the water under international law. The pilot aptitude test, which has the effect of preventing safety accidents in advance, has not yet been established as a legal system in S. Korea, after being certified by the Korean Register of Shipping (KR) for the first time in the world in March 2020. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to ensure that identifying the importance, recognition, correlation, etc. of the tools and items of aptitude testing, from a group of experts, can be used appropriately for future development of legal aptitude testing tools. As a method of study, the questionnaire method was used, and the analysis confirmed that the tools used on aircraft and ships could be used appropriately. In particular, Due to the characteristics of the WIG ships, it was confirmed that it is necessary to develop more specifically in the future, the operational qualifications and physical fitness items, which are the aptitude evaluation items.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and psychometrically test the Korean Geriatric Loneliness Scale (KGLS). Methods: The initial items were based on in-depth interviews with 10 older adults. Psychometric testing was then conducted with 322 community-dwelling older adults aged 65 or older. Content, construct, and criterion-related validity, classification in cutoff point, internal consistency reliability, and test-retest reliability were used for the analysis. Results: Exploratory factor analysis showed three factors, including 15 items explaining 91.6% of the total variance. The three distinct factors were loneliness associated with family relationships (34.3%), social loneliness (32.4%), and a lack of belonging (24.9%). As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, 14 items in the three-factor structure were validated. Receiver operating characteristic analysis demonstrated that the KGLS' cutoff point of 32 was associated with a sensitivity of 71.0%, specificity of 80.2%, and area under the curve of .83. Reliability, as verified by the test-retest intraclass correlation coefficient, was .89, and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was .90. Conclusion: As its validity and reliability have been verified through various methods, the KGLS can contribute to assessing loneliness in South Korean older adults.
The purpose of this research was to examine the preferences of five traditional Korean drinks and analyze the factors affecting the preferences of children aged 7-12 in Korea, Vietnam, and China. The samples used in a sensory test were omija-cha, yuza-cha, sujeonggwa, sikhye and misutgaru. The test was performed to examine the overall, appearance (color), odor, taste and mouth-feeling and a sweetness intensity using 5 point hedonic scale (1=dislike extremely, 5=like extremely) and, check-all-that-apply (CATA) method was performed to determine preference and non-preferences factors. The preference of all samples except sujeonggwa showed significant differences in all items of the preferences (p<0.001). Almost items of the preference was rated more than 4 points in Chinese and Korea children. The sweetness intensity showed also significant differences in all items of the preferences except sujeonggwa (p<0.001), and evaluated as not sweet-appropriate with the score between 2 and 3 points. Sweetness, color, mouth-feeling, familiar flavor and healthy feeling was selected for the factors affecting the preferences. In conclusion, the result of this study determine the preferences and the affecting factors for the traditional Korean drinks in children of Korea, Vietnam, and China.
This study investigated not only the existence of differently functioned item due to gender but also domain. In this study, the randomly selected data of TIMSS 2007, which consist of 681 male and 646 women, were analyzed. To detect differently functioned items, this study employed Raju method. For Raju method, three-parameter logistic model was selected. Signed and unsigned area between two item characteristic curve were measured within the real ability range. An item which was detected commonly SA and UA area in Raju method was defined as a differently functioned item. As a result of this study, six items among twenty seven items of mathematics in the TIMSS 2007 were differently functioned item. Five items among those six items, were in favor of boys and one item was in favor of girls. Number, Geometric Shapes and Measures, and Applying were in favor of boys. but Data Display, Reasoning were in favor of girls. The conclusion of this study was summarized as existing differently functioned items in TIMSS 2007 and difference between favorable domain based gender. Finally, it is desirable to consider the differently functioned items by relating those item content for improving the test reliability of TIMSS 2007.
In this research, the comprehensive evaluation model of IS(information systems) for public sectors is theoretically constructed through reviewing and integrating previous IS evaluation-related research. This model is hypothesized to consist of five sectors(System Sector, User Sector, Organization and Management Sector, Resource Management Sector and Strategic Contribution Sector), ten evaluation items belonging to these five evaluation sectors, and sixty two evaluation indices for these ten evaluation items. The results of empirical analyses to test the validity of the research model show that the evaluation sectors turn out to be the same ones as proposed in the hypothetical model. The evaluation items(System Quality, Information Quality, Service Quality) in System Sector proves to be consistent with the hypothetical model. However, in case of User Sector, two evaluation items(Perceived Usefulness and User Satisfaction) which are included in the hypothetical model are found to be merged into one item(User Satisfaction). And, it is shown that four evaluation items such as the Efficiency of Internal Process, Customer Satisfaction, Organizational Innovation, and the Degree of Informatization competence improvement are included in Organization and Management Sector, differently from the research model in which the items, Organizational innovation and the Degree of Informatization competence improvement, are not divided. As a final result, sixty two evaluation indices that comprise all the evaluation items belonging to five sectors are found to be reduced to fifty seven ones through factor analyses, criterion-related validity tests and reliability analyses.
Objectives: Identifying influencing factors of stress in clinical practice of dental hygiene students through controlling the amount of stress in clinical practice. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 226 dental hygiene students in Daejeon, Cheongju and Jeolla province from March 2 to 30, 2016. The contents of the questionnaire included general characteristics (6 items), clinical practice characteristics (4 items), clinical practice stress (16 items), quality of life (24 items), health promotion behavior (20 items), OHIP (14 items), and critical thinking disposition (15 items). Data was analyzed using SPSS 19.0. for one way ANOVA, scheffe' posthoc test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. Cronbach's alpha of clinical practice stress, quality of life, health promotion behavior, OHIP, and critical thinking disposition were 0.827, 0.913, 0.896, 0.921 and 0.778, respectively. Results: Clinical practice stress was 3.38 points, quality of life was 3.40 points, health promotion behavior was 3.21 points, OHIP was 4.21 points and critical thinking disposition was 3.17 points. Conclusions: Factors that had impact on clinical practice stress include sleeping state, satisfaction of clinical practice, practice number, and the quality of life, and they appeared statistically significant (p<0.05). This exercise showed the necessary manuals and system implementations in clinical practice, which can reduce the amount of stress in dental hygiene students.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a measurement tool of nurse's turnover intention. Methods: Data were collected from questionnaires completed by 678 nurses who worked in 3 university hospitals in South Korea and analyzed using the SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18 programs. Thirty-seven preliminary items were selected from 161 basic items extracted via a literature review and in depth interviews with 6 hospital nurses. Three steps with factor analysis were undertaken to verify the reliability and validity of the preliminary instruments. Finally, confirmative factor analysis was carried out. Results: As a result of the analysis, 3 factors including 10 items were selected. Cronbach's Alpha for the 10 items was .83, for job satisfaction (4 items), .78, for interpersonal relationships (3 items), .80, and for work performance (3 items), .74, which was stable. Conclusion: This study is meaningful because through it a scale reflecting Korean culture was developed to measure turnover intention in nurses. Further studies that test the psychometrics of this scale in more diverse samples are warranted.
The purpose of this study was to develop a family functioning scale that is suitable for Korean families. The data for this study were obtained from a survey on a sample of 350 mothers of school-age children, who were living in Seoul, Kyunggi-do, and other cities of Korea. The major findings ate as follows; 1) Through the item discrimination test, 63 of the 77 items were found to be significant, thus deemed acceptable. The level of discrimination indices of the 63 items ranged from .38 to .84. 2) A factor analysis was conducted on the 63 items. Six different factors (Emotional Support, Family Intimacy, Respect for Autonomy, Communication, Family Rules, Time Spent Together) emerged for 37 items. The six factors accounted for 56.51% of total variance. 3) A multiple regression analysis was conducted to reduce the number of items, and the final 36 items were selected for the Family Functioning Scale. 4) The reliability measured by the internal consistency of the 36 items was high (Cronbach's a =.93). 5) The Family Functioning Scale was found to have a significant correlation with FACESIII(r=.80) as well as with FAD(r=.78).
Web sites on the internet are excellent information resources for the consumers to gain health care knowledge. Especially web sites related to child-care more increase recently. But a concern has emerged for the quality of contents contained on the child-care web sites. Lack of evaluation criteria have led to inaccurate and misleading child-care related publications on the Internet. For evaluating the quality and reliability of child-care related information on the Web, rating tool should be provided and developed. So, this article reviewed and investigated the elements to evaluate child-care sites on the internet. On the basis of the review of articles and the validity test about the contents, 16 preliminary items including purpose, contents, authority, feedback, design developed. Through the pilot study that apply the preliminary evaluating criteria to 20 evaluating criteria for child-care web sites developed. This evaluating criteria have 24 items and that were categorized to purpose(2 items), detail of contents(16 items), authority(2 items), feedback(2 items), design(4 items). The result of this study suggest that the evaluation criteria for child-care web sites may be useful for evaluating the quality of child-care web sites.
This study analyzes the characteristics of somatotype changes of girls from the ages of 13 to 18 that provide basic data on clothing construction for middle and high school girls. We use data obtained from body measurements of 1,590 adolescent girls 13 to 18 years of age provided in the 6th national anthropometric survey report. The differences among the age groups for 56 direct measurements were analyzed by ANOVA, and the structures of the differences by SNK (Students-Newman-Keuls test) were analyzed. The two major growth ages were 'ages 13-14' and 'ages 15-16'. The first major growth ages focused on all measurement items of height, length, circumference, breadth, depth and other items. The second one focused on measurement items of height and length of torso, circumference, and breadth of lower body. The major growth pattern of the age groups was 'ages 13<14&15<16&17&18' which appeared focused on the height and length items of upper body and torso, the width items of lower body and the circumference items of upper body and lower body. The measurement items of front length like waist front length, N.P. to B.P to waistline, N.P. to B.P., and B.P. to B.P. showed the growth pattern for 'ages 13<14<15<16<17&18'.
