The improvement in the battery performance and life using a battery thermal management system directly affects the improvement in the performance, life, and energy efficiency of electric vehicles. Therefore, this study numerically analyzed the heat exchange processes between the coolant inside the cooling plate channel and the heat generated by the battery. The cooling performance was analyzed based on the average temperature, temperature uniformity, and the maximum and minimum temperature differences of the battery. A performance difference existed depending on the coolant inlet temperature but showed the same tendency of cooling performance according to the shape of each plate's channel. Type 1 showed the best results in terms of battery temperature uniformity, which is the most important measure of battery performance; Type 2 showed the best results in terms of the average temperature of the battery; and Type 3 showed the best results in terms of the maximum and minimum temperature differences of the battery compared with that of the other cooling plates.

This work is proposed an alternative identification method of outlying cell which is one of important issues in categorical data analysis. One finds that there is a strong relationship between the location of an outlying cell and the corresponding parameter estimates of the well-fitted log-linear model. Among parameters of log-linear model, an outlying cell is affected by interaction terms rather than main effect terms. Hence one could identify an outlying cell by investigating of parameter estimates in an appropriate log-linear model.

In today's business transactions, it is more and more common to see that the buyers are allowed some grace period before they settle the account with the supplier. In this regard, we analyze the problem of determining the buyer's EOQ when the supplier allows day-terms credit. For the analysis, it is assumed that the buyer's demand rate is a function of the on -hand inventory level and the relevant mathematical model is developed.

This paper analyzes the customer behavior on high efficiency inverter program in terms of rebate levels. The importance of high efficiency DSM programs has been more and more increased after deregulation. Especially, the inverter program is one of the most high efficiency DSM programs, so this paper presents proper rebate levels in terms of both participants and non-participants to promote diffusion of the inverters.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of experience of sexual violence in terms of a continuum. For the purpose, this study made use of the questionnaire data and the interview resources collected from 243 female students. The staticstics used for data analysis were frequencies, percentiles and ANOVA. The major findings were as follows. The level of experience of sexual violence in terms of a continuum was high. Most female students recognized lots of unpleasant sexual behaviors as sexual violence. The level of experience and recognition of sexual violence differed significantly according to age and sexrole attitude. (Korean J Human Ecology 1(2):37∼47. 1998)

This paper propose a new delay-dependent stability criterion of neutral time-delay systems. By employing double-integral terms in augmented states and constructing a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii's functional, a delay-dependent stability criterion is established in terms of Linear Matrix Inequality. Through numerical examples, the validity and improvement results obtained by applying the proposed stability criterion will be shown.

This paper is a study on the activation of Factory Saemaul QC circle activities contributing much to the management of enterprises. One hundred seventy leaders of QC circles were served as subjects. The factors to activate QC circle activity have been obtained in terms of multivariate analysis. It was observed from the result of the diagnosis that the independency, the relationship of the office-organization and the ability of the achievement-expression are the general problems of Korean enterprises.

A topological theory has been introduced to extend the theory of Balsara and Nauman to evaluate the entropy of in homogeneous polymer solutions. Previous theories have considered only the terms about the displacement of junction points, while the present theory has obtained a more complete expression for the entropy by adding the topological interaction terms between strands. There have been predicted the characteristics of the spinodal decomposition and the interfacial tension of polymer solutions from the resultant expression. It is exposed that the theoretically predictive values show good agreement with the experimental data for polymer solutions.
