  • It is desirable for the vertical wind tunnel which can build uniform air flow across the vertical duct to be used for the purpose of the investigation of the aerodynamic properties of grains. This study was conducted to examine how the air velocity profile in the vertical duct is influenced by the various alternations of the elements of the wind tunnel, and to prepare design guidance of the vertical wind tunnel which can be used for investigating aerodynamic properties of grains. In addition, several tests were conducted to locate the test section which can be applicable for determining the terminal velocity of grain. The following conclusions were obtained from the study: 1. The size and the location of the outlet of the plenum chamber should be determined such that the outlet air flow is less affected by the air flow and the back pressure by the side wall of the chamber. 2. The honeycomb was not helpful for attaining uniform air flow in case that the air flow profile at the bottom of the vertical duct is serverely different from the ideal one. 3. Even though considerable pressure drop was resulted from the screens installed within the vertical duct, the screens were helpful for attaining uniform air flow in the duct. 4. It is desirable for the test section to be located at the position that not only the air flow of the duct is not disturbed by the distorted back pressure in the plenum chamber, but also less boundary layer is developed.

Intratumoral Administration of Rhenium-188-Labeled Pullulan Acetate Nanoparticles (PAN) in Mice Bearing CT-26 Cancer Cells for Suppression of Tumor Growth

  • The feasibility of pullulan acetate nanoparticles (PAN) with ionic strength (IS) sensitivity as a radioisotope carrier to inhibit tumor growth is demonstrated. PAN was radiolabeled with rhenium 188 (Re-188) without any chelating agents. The labeling efficiency of Re-188 into PAN (Re-188PAN) was $49.3{\pm}4.0%$ as determined by TLC. The tumor volumes of mice treated with 0.45 mCi of Re-188-PAN were measured and compared with that of free Re-188 after 5 days of intratumoral injection. For the histological evaluation of apoptotic nuclei of tumor cells, hematoxylin and eosin (H&E), and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase biotinylated deoxyuridine triphosphate nick end labeling (TUNEL) staining were performed. The mean tumor volume of the Re-188-PAN-treated group was decreased by 36% after 5 days, whereas that the free Re-188-treated group was decreased by only 15% (P<0.05). The mean number of TUNEL-positive cells in Re-188-PAN-treated tumors at $144.3{\pm}79.9$ cells/section was significantly greater than the control ($26.7{\pm}7.9$ cells/section, P=0.03). The numbers of leukocyte and lymphocyte were decreased in both free Re-188- and Re-188-PAN-treated mice. These results indicated that the intratumoral injection of Re-188-PAN effectively inhibits the tumor growth by prolonging Re-188 retention time in tumor site induced by the IS sensitivity.

인천국제공항과 김포국제공항의 비행 절차 위험도 분석 (Risk Analysis of Flight Procedures at Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport)

  • 본 논문은 기록된 항적 데이터를 이용하여 혼잡한 공항의 비행 절차별 위험도를 분석하는 방법론을 제시하고, ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) 데이터를 기반으로 재생성된 100일 치의 항적 데이터를 사용하여 인천국제공항과 김포국제공항의 비행 절차별 위험도를 분석한 결과를 보여준다. 위험도 분석은 DWC (detect and void well clear) 를 이용하였으며, 이를 통해 비행 절차별로 가장 높은 위험도가 나타나는 구간과 위험 발생이 잦은 구간을 평가하였다. 그 결과, 인천국제공항의 표준계기출발절차 중 RNAV BOPTA 1L의 SI712 - RANOS Fix 구간에서 가장 높은 위험도가 나타났으며, 표준계기도착절차 중에서는 RNAV GUKDO 1N에서는 SI947-DANAN Fix 구간에서 가장 높은 위험도가 나타났다. 또한 김포국제공항의 표준계기출발절차 중에서는 RNAV BULTI 1X의 SS726 - SS727 Fix, 표준계기도착절차 중에서는 RNAV OLMEN 1D의 KAKSO - KALMA Fix 구간에서 가장 높은 위험도가 나타났다.

네트워크 배전계통용 통신기반 보호협조에 관한 연구 (A study of communication-based protection coordination for networked distribution system)

  • Although the distribution system has been structured as complicated as a mesh in the past, the connection points for each line are always kept open, so that it is operated as a radial distribution system (RDS). For RDS, the line utilization rate is determined according to the maximum load on the line, and the utilization rate is usually kept low. In addition, when a fault occurs in the RDS, a power outage of about 3 to 5 minutes occurs until the fault section is separated, and the healthy section is transferred to another line. To improve the disadvantages of the RDS, research on the construction of a networked distribution system (NDS) that linking multiple lines is in progress. Compared to the RDS, the NDS has advantages such as increased facility utilization, load leveling, self-healing, increased capacity connected to distributed generator, and resolution of terminal voltage drop. However, when a fault occurs in the network distribution system, fault current can flow in from all connected lines, and the direction of fault current varies depending on the fault point, so a high-precision fault current direction determination method and high-speed communication are required. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an accurate fault current direction determination method by comparing the peak value polarity of the fault current in the event of a fault, and a communication-based protection coordination method using this method.

소규모 폐쇄 환경에서 스몰 셀을 연계한 이동통신 전파환경 개선방안 (Measures to improve mobile communication propagation environment by linking small cells in a small closed environment)

  • 본 논문에서는 소규모 폐쇄 환경에서 스몰 셀을 이용하여 이동단말의 수신 전파환경을 개선하고 수신 전계를 일정하게 유지 시키는 방안을 제안한다. 스몰 셀의 효율적인 통신 인프라 구성을 위해 이더넷 기반 무선 영상녹화시스템의 무선 송·수신 양단을 L2 스위치를 사용하여 연계한다. 수신 측 L2 스위치에 연결된 스몰 셀은 무선 영상녹화 시스템의 무선 네트워크 구간을 공유하여 송신 측 L2 스위치에 연결한다. 그 이후 인터넷망을 통하여 스몰 셀의 관리시스템인 FMS에 정상적으로 연동되면 스몰 셀의 출력을 확인한다. 결과 검증을 위해 전파환경이 열악한 건물 내부의 승강기에 제안 네트워크를 구성하고 승강기가 운행되는 구간의 스몰 셀 적용 전, 후 전파환경을 측정한다. 결과적으로 승강기 전 구간에서 전파환경의 주요 파라미터가 개선됨은 물론 이동하는 승강기 내에서 일정한 수신 전계 강도를 유지한다.

손목터널증후군 진단 시 F파의 유용성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Validity of F wave for Diagnosis of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome)

  • 본 연구는 초기 손목터널증후군으로 진단된 환자의 정중신경(median nerve)과 자신경(ulnar never)의 및 F파를 대조군과 비교 분석하여 초기 손목터널증후군의 진단에서 F파가 유용한 지표가 될 수 있는지 알아보고자 하였다. 신경전도검사 결과의 주요 지표인 말단잠복기, 말단진폭, 손바닥-손목 구간의 감각신경전도속도 및 F파 잠복기를 대조군과 t-test 검정으로 비교분석하고, 또한 주요 지표간의 상관성 분석을 위하여 상관분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 대조군과 초기 손목터널증후군 환자의 정중신경 말단잠복기 비교에서 두 군 간에 유의성이 높은 것으로 나타났다(p<0.001). 정중신경의 감각신경전도속도 비교에서는 대조군과 손목터널증후군 간의 유의성이 높은 것으로 관찰되었다(p<0.001). 후기반응검사인 F파 잠복기 분석에서 정중신경의 경우 대조군과 손목터널증후군간 높은 유의성(p<0.001)을 보였으나, 자신경의 경우는 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 상관분석 결과는 감각신경전도속도와 말단잠복기, F파와 말단잠복기에서 모두 상관성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과로, F파는 말단잠복기, 감각신경전도속도와 같이 손목터널증후군의 진단에 있어 유용한 지표가 될 수 있다고 사료된다.

  • 80,000 G/T급 크루즈선이 입항할 수 있는 터미널을 계획하고 있는 제주신항에 대하여 자연 ·환경 조건 및 방파제 등의 구조물 등을 고려하여 선박조종시뮬레이션을 실시하여 입 ·출항 및 접 이안의 안전성을 평가하고자 한다. 안전성 평가는 항로경계의 침범여부, 구조물과의 최근접거리, 선박조종자의 주관적 평가를 통계적으로 해석하는 방법을 이용하였다.

  • Inchon International Airport Elevated Road Way is located between the Passenger Terminal Building and Transportaion Center which are Inchon International Airport core construction projects. The deck of the bridge is consists of 5-span or 6-span continuous pre-stressed concrete slab. Steel form has been used to enhance the quality of texture on concrete slab. Steel form has been used to enhance the quality of texture on concrete surface, lower surface of deck slab with the two way arch has been manufactured by highly professional manner in order to get an beautiful exterior architectural looks. The prestressed concrete deck slab is mass concrete structures with a high-specified concrete strength and a varying section in the range of 0.95-2.8m thickness. Therefore high risks of thermal cracking occurrence by heat of hydration highly are expected. To resolve such problem, we adopted type 1 cement and pipe cooking method at construction site through mass concrete specimen test and 3-dimensional analysis. For Pipe cooling we used 25mm diameter stainless pipes with wrinkles. Cooling pipe with spacing 50-60cm has been installed. And continuous pipe cooling with cooling water of 15$^{\circ}C$ was conducted for 2days. In present 8 span of all 29 spans construction has been completed. No thermal cracking heat hydration has been observed yet.

태아 소장 부분염전에 의한 회장 무공증 (Ileal Atresia Secondary to Intrauterine Segmental Volvulus)

  • A 2-day-old male (Premie, Large for gestational age(LGA), Intrauterine period(IUP) 33 weeks, birth weight 2,955 gram) was transferred with marked abdominal distention, bilious return via the orogastric tube, respiratory difficulty, and generalized edema (hydrops fetalis). He was born by cesarean section to a 36 year-old mother. Antenatal ultrasonogram at IUP 31 weeks demonstrated multiple dilated bowel loops suggestive of intestinal obstruction. There was no family history of cystic fibrosis. Simple abdominal films disclosed diffuse haziness and suspicious fine calcifications in the right lower quadrant. Barium enema demonstrated a microcolon. Sweat chloride test was not available in our institution. At laparotomy, there noted 1) a segmental volvulus of the small bowel with gangrenous change, associated with meconium peritonitis, 2) an atresia of the ileum at the base of the volvulus, and 3) the terminal ileum distal to the volvulus was narrow and impacted with rabbit pellets-like thick meconium. These findings appeared to be very similar to those of a complicated meconium ileus. In summary, the ileal atresia and meconium peritonitis seemed to be caused by antenatal segmental volvulus of the small intestine in a patient with probable meconeum ileus.

Progression of Apoptotic Cells by Pretreatment of Proteinase K

  • Apoptosis can be difficult to detect in routine histological sections. Since extensive DNA fragmentation is an important characteristic of this process, visualization of DNA breaks could greatly facilitate the identification of apoptotic cells. Several techniques for the qualitative and quantitative detection of this process have been established; recently, an in situ nick end-labelling technique based on the detection of DNA fragmentation, which is a molecular characteristic of apoptotic cell death, was described. Applying this method to paraffin sections of rat tissues, sensitivity was observed to be inconsistently low with regard to the expected number of apoptotic cells. I describe a new modified method for formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections, pretense pretreatment to permeate the tissue sections that involves an TUNEL (terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling) is acknowledged as a method of choice in the rapid identification and quantification of the apoptotic cell fraction in paraffin tissue preparations. TUNEL was performed without apoptosis and with apopotosis samples to each of the three concentrations of proteinase K (10, 25, 40 mg/ml) pretreatments. In this study, I show that chemical pretreatments of the tissue sections in proteinase K (25 mg/ml for 15 min at room temperature) considerably enhances the sensitivity of this nick end labelling technique.
