KSR-3 비행시험 원격측정시스템 운용 결과 (A Study on the Telemetering Results of KSR-III Flight Test)

  • 과학로켓3호(KSR-III) 비행시험시에 탑재용 원격측정장치는 로켓의 서브시스템들의 실시간 상태 및 각종 센서 자료를 획득하여 무선으로 전파 통신을 하고 지상에서 로켓을 추적하면서 비행중인 원격측정 데이터를 실시간으로 획득하고 복원하는 것은 로켓의 비행을 분석하는데 필수적이다. 또한 실시간으로 자료처리된 원격측정자료들은 네트워크를 통해 임무통제센터로 보내져 로켓의 비행 궤도를 도시하고 동시에 비행통제원이 로켓의 비행종단명령을 수행하기 위한 중요한 판단자료를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 과학로켓3호 비행시험에 적합한 원격측정 수신과 관련된 운용기법 및 실시간 자료처리 시스템 개발에 관하여 기술하였으며 원격측정 수신결과를 분석하였다. 실제 비행시험시에 성공적으로 원격측정 수신 및 실시간 자료처리 임무를 완수하였다.

  • Telemetry processing system requires minimum bit transition level in data streams to maintain a bit synchronization while receiving telemetry signal. PN code has a capability of providing the bit transition and is widely used in the packet communication of CCSDS. CCSDS PN code that generator polynomial is $h(x)=x^{8}+x^{7}+x^{5}+x^{3}+1$, and the random bit sequence that is generated from this polynomial is repeated with the cycle of 255 bits. As the resolution of satellite image increases, the size and transmission rate of data increases. To process of huge and bulky size of satellite image, the speed of CCSDS PN Processing is very important. This paper introduces the way of improving the CCSDS PN Processing speed through processing 128 bits at one time using the feature of cyclic structure that repeats after first 255 bytes by grouping the random bit sequence with 1 byte and Intel Streaming SIMD Extensions 2. And this paper includes the comparison data of processing speed between SSE2-applied implementation and not-applied implementation, in addition, the measured value of speed improvement.

  • 본 논문에서는 관측로켓의 비행시험 결과를 저장하고 있는 Magnetic Tape(MT)로부터 각 채널정보를 취득할 수 있도록 PC를 이용한 원격측정 데이타 처리 시스템을 설계하였다. 이 시스템은 기종의 데이타 처리 시스템에 비해 데이타 처리시 필요한 시스템의 수를 줄일 수 있으며 처리과정을 단순화 시킬 수 있는 장점이 있다.

Efficient Implementation of the MQTT Protocol for Embedded Systems

  • The need for embedded devices to be able to exchange information with each other and with data centers is essential for the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT). Several existing communication protocols are designed for small devices including the message-queue telemetry transport (MQTT) protocol or the constrained application protocol (CoAP). However, most of the existing implementations are convenient for computers or smart phones but do not consider the strict constraints and limitations with regard resource usage, portability and configuration. In this paper, we report on an industrial research and development project which focuses on the design, implementation, testing and deployment of a MQTT module. The goal of this project is to develop this module for platforms having minimal RAM, flash code memory and processing power. This software module should be fully compliant with the MQTT protocol specification, portable, and inter-operable with other software stacks. In this paper, we present our approach based on abstraction layers to the design of the MQTT module and we discuss the compliance of the implementation with the requirements set including the MISRA static analysis requirements.

  • This paper describes about the behavior of the Striped mullet (Mugil cephalus) in the setnet by telemetry techniques. The telemetry system consists of a pinger of 50KHz, three omni-directional hydrophones and ultrasonic receivers, a single board computer for the signal processing, two RF transceivers for the data comunication and a personnel computer. The fish tagged the pinger was tracked by the LBL method, and its location was calculated by the hyperbolic method. The fish escaped from sea surface to 7m deep right after release and had been swum near the sea surface after 30 minutes being released. Also, in horizontal movements, the fish stayed long time around the enterance of the square net in setnet, and showed the escaping behavior repeatly. The average speed of the fish was about 0.41m/sec(1.1 times of the body length)

  • This paper describes about the behavior of the lseraeli carp (Cyprinus cartio. body length 43cm) and the Red seabream (Chrysophrys major. body length 35cm) aquacultured by telemetry techniques. The telemetry system consists of a pinger of 50kHz, three omni-directional hydrophones and ultrasonic receivers, a single board computer for the signal processing, two RF transceivers for the data communication, and a personnel computer. Those fish tagged the pingers were tracked by the LBL method, and its location was calculated by the hyperbolic method. The average speed of the lsraeli carp was about 1.0 times of the body length in a farming water tank (24$\times$24$\times$1m), and the Red seabream 1.3 times of the body length in a farming raft (10$\times$10$\times$5m). A variation of the speed of the lsraeli carp was higher than the other one.

  • This paper describes the development of pulse code modulation(PCM) data recorder with design, implementation and environmental test. PCM serial data that diverged from telemetry encoder output is used as the input and is reformed to parallel signal through FPGA processing. Controllers construct the packet by the sector and record it into non-volatile memory. Compact flash(CF) memory for data storage media, USB interface for data downloading, and a software for operating status diagnosis and file format conversion are used.

  • In this paper, we describe a telemetry stimulation system that controls animal-robots. In our system, we send the main control command from PC to the controller embedded in the pigeon based animal-robots. Once the controller receives the control signal, it makes biphasic stimulation pulses to medial forebrain bundle neurons to control the pigeon behavior as we want. We design the embedded controller using CUBLOC, which is lightweight for attaching on the pigeon.

  • We have developed Ground Software (GSW) of BITSE. The ground software includes mission operation software, data visualization software and data processing software. Mission operation software is implemented using COSMOS. COSMOS is a command and control system providing commanding, scripting and data visualization capabilities for embedded systems. Mission operation software send commands to flight software and control coronagraph. It displays every telemetry packets and provides realtime graphing of telemetry data. Data visualization software is used to display and analyze science image data in real time. It is graphical user interface (GUI) and has various functions such as directory listing, image display, and intensity profile. The data visualization software shows also image information which is FITS header, pixel resolution, and histogram. It helps users to confirm alignment and exposure time during the mission. Data processing software creates 4-channel polarization data from raw data.
