INTELLIGENT MIRROR ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM USING A DRIVER′S PUPILS

  • This paper describes an intelligent mirror adjustment system that rotates a pair of side mirrors and the room mirror of a car to the optimal position for a driver by using the location of the driver's pupils. A stereo vision system measures the three-dimensional coordinates of a pair of pupils by analyzing the input images of stereo B/W CCD cameras mounted on the instrument panel. This system determines the position angle of each mirror on the basis of information about the location of the pupils and rotates each mirror to the appropriate position by mirror actuators. The vision system can detect the driver's pupils regardless of whether it is daytime or nighttime by virtue of an infrared light source. Information about the pair of nostrils is used to improve the correctness of pupil detection. This system can adjust side mirrors and the room mirror automatically and rapidly by a simple interface regardless of driver replacement or driver's posture. Experiment has shown this to be a new mirror adjustment system that can make up for the weak points of previous mirror adjustment systems.

FDTD Analsysis of Lightning-Induced Voltages on Shielded Telecommunication Cable with Multipoint Grounding

  • In this paper, the lightning-induced voltages on shielded twisted-pair wires with multipoint grounding on cable sheath are calculated by using finite-difference time domain (FDTD) method. The equivalent single-wire line that represents a bundle of twisted-pair wires is adopted for computational efficiency. A finitely conducting ground is also taken into account in both lightning electromagnetic field calculations and surge propagation along the shielded cable for a practical simulation. It is found that multipoint additional grounding on cable sheath provides more shielding effectiveness especially in the early time response of the lightning-induced voltages. From this study, the requirements for lighting surge protection devices in a telecommunication subscriber cab1e can be established.

Changing Partners Technique in Reversible Steganography

  • Steganography is hiding messages in cover materials like image, audio, etc. The previous studies are limited in the shifting problem of the histogram and capacity. This paper proposes a new technology which overcomes these two problems. Our new technology uses two colors as a pair and chooses either changing to its partner or remaining as they are according as each hiding bit. As a result, we show that the result of this technology shows that the hiding capacity is higher than other methods.

GA-Optimized Compact Broadband CRLH Band-Pass Filter Using Stub-Inserted Interdigital Coupled Lines

  • The design of a new compact band-pass filter is proposed, which is based on the microstrip composite right- and left-handed transmission- line (CRLH-TL) structure. Particularly, the interdigital coupled (IDC) lines of the CRLH geometry are proposed to be parted by inserting open stubs to meet the specifications on the passband. In addition, there is another pair of stubs to complete the design in a limited space. These are considered in the TL-based analysis and the design parameters are calculated by genetic algorithm optimization. The measurement is shown to be acceptable and agreeable with the circuit and electromagnetic field simulations. In addition, the zerothorder resonance (ZOR) phenomenon is verified.

연속적인 최대-최소 연결비율 문제: 회선망에서의 공정성 및 효율성을 보장하는 경로설정 (Successive Max-min Connection-Ratio Preoblem:Routing with Fairness and Efficiency in Circuit Telecommunication Networks)

  • This paper considers a new routing problem, successive max-min connection ratio problem (SMCRP), arised in circuit telecommunication networks such as SONET and WDM optical transport network. An optimization model for SMCRP is established based on link-flow formulation. It's first optimization process is an integral version of maximum concurrent flow problem. Integer condition does not give the same connection-ratio of each node-pair at an optimal solution any more. It is also an integral multi-commodity flow problem with fairness restriction. In order to guarantee fairness to every node-pair the minimum of connection ratios to demand is maximized. NP- hardness of SMCRP is proved and a heuristic algorithm with polynomial-time bound is developed for the problem. Augmenting path and rerouting flow are used for the algorithm. The heuristic algorithm is implemented and tested for networks of different sizes. The results are compared with those given by GAMS/OSL, a popular commercial solver for integer programming problem.n among ferrite-pearlite matrix, the increase in spheroidal ratio with increasing fatigue limitation, 90% had the highest, 14.3% increasing more then 70%, distribution range of fatigue.ife was small in same stress level. (2) $\sqrt{area}_{max}$ of graphite can be used to predict fatigue limit of Ductile Cast Iron. The Statistical distribution of extreme values of $\sqrt{area}_{max}$ may be used as a guideline for the control of inclusion size in the steelmaking.

  • 최근 지능형 감시카메라에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 현재의 연구들은 대부분 통합시스템 구현보다는 단일 모듈에 대한 성능향상에 중점을 두고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 얼굴검출, 모션 센서 통합 모듈로 구성하는 무선 감시 시스템을 구현하였다. 무선 감시 시스템의 구현에는 sharp사의 카메라 모듈과 ecom사의 무선영상전송 모듈, roboblock의 ZigBee RF 무선컨트롤 송수신 모듈을 사용 하였고, 모션 센서 모듈에는 PANASONIC의 AMN14111를 사용하였다. OpenCV 라이브러리를 이용한 얼굴검출과 MFC로 소프트웨어를 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 구현한 시스템은 모션 센서를 이용하는 영상 감시 시스템이나 얼굴검출이 필요한 시스템, 원격조정이 필요한 작업환경에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

통신 케이블 쉬스 층 접지가 전력선 전자유도 전압 측정에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Sheath Layer Ground of Telecommunication Cable to Induced Voltage Measurement)

  • 통신 회선에 대한 전력선 전자유도 전압을 측정할 때, 일반 통신 케이블의 쉬스 층 및 측정 대상 통신 회선 접지의 상호 접속 관계에 따른 전압 변화를 비교 분석하였다. 케이블 양측 쉬스 접지 저항이 평균 $42.6{\Omega}$으로 유사한 상태에서 쉬스를 분리 접지하고 유도 전압을 측정하면 쉬스 접지를 하지 않은 상태에서 측정한 유도 전압에 대하여 10 % 미만 감소된다. 어느 한 쪽을 공통으로 접지하면 약 50 % 감소되고 양측을 모두 공통으로 하면 90 % 넘게 감소된다. 이것은 국제전기통신연합(ITU)에서 제공하는 계산식으로 계산하였을 때의 결과와 유사한 것으로 분석되었다. 아울러 ITU의 계산식을 활용하여 양측 쉬스 접지 저항 값을 변화시킬 때의 유도 전압 변화를 시뮬레이션하여 비교 분석한 결과, 실제 현장에서 쉬스 접지 저항 기준이 $100{\Omega}$이고 전화 국사의 저항이 보통 $10{\Omega}$ 이하인 점을 감안할 때 측정 오차율은 약 10 % 이하가 된다.

A Coupled Higher-Order Nonlinear $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ Equation Including Higher-Order Bright and Dark Solitons

  • We suggest a generalized Lax pair on a Hermitian symmetric space to generate a new coupled higher-order nonlinear $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ equation of a dual type which contains both bright and dark soliton equations depending on parameters in the Lax pair. Through the generalized ways of reduction and the scaling transformation for the coupled higher-order nonlinear $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ equation, two integrable types of higher-order dark soliton equations and their extensions to vector equations are newly derived in addition to the corresponding equations of the known higher-order bright solitons. Analytical discussion on a general scalar solution of the higher-order dark soliton equation is then made in detail.

ADCP에서의 스펙트럼 모멘트 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Spectrum Moment Estimation in an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler)

  • ADCP(Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) 에서의 거리 별 유속이나 유체의 교란 정도 등에 관한 정보는 수신 도플러 스펙트럼의 첫 번째 및 두 번째 스펙트럼 모멘트를 추정함으로서 얻을 수 있다. 그러나 펄스페어(Pulse-pair) 방법으로 불리는 상관함수 추정에 의한 모멘트 추정 기법은 일반적으로 가장 많이 사용되고 있으나 수신 신호의 특성이 대칭형 도플러 스펙트럼이며 하나의 첨두치를 갖는 것을 전제 조건으로 한다. 유체의 교란정도가 심하게 나타나는 상황에서는 이러한 조건이 충족되지 않을 수 있기 때문에 심각한 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 분석하기 위하여 여러 가지 형태를 가지는 다양한 도플러 스펙트럼 수신 신호들을 모의 구현하였으며 이러한 신호들을 이용하여 펄스페어 추정 방법에 의하여 얻어진 결과 값들을 FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) 추정 방법에 의한 결과 값들과 비교하고 그 차이점을 분석하였다. 수신 신호가 도플러 주파수 영역에서 심하게 편이 되거나 다중 첨두치를 가지는 경우에는 펄스 페어 방법에 의한 추정치들은 무의미한 값들로 나타날 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

Outage Probability of Device-to-Device MIMO Relay Systems with Imperfect Channel Estimation

  • Under an imperfect channel estimation, a Device-to-Device (D2D) communication framework based on MIMO relay technology is presented. The model consists of a D2D pair equipped with M antennas and a relay equipped with N antennas as well as a cellular user equipped with M antennas. The outage probability under different relaying protocols (i.e. AF and DF protocol) with and without considering a direct link was derived. The actual and theoretical outage probability of the five links under different antenna numbers was emulated. The number of user antennas and channel estimation error was analyzed carefully to determine their impact on the outage probability of a system. The simulation verified the theory analyses and the results showed that MIMO relaying improves the D2D communication system performance.
