Telecommunication services are distinctive in that their adoptions are influenced by network effect resulting in 'the late take-off phenomenon' and the 'critical mass' problem. In this paper we examined, so called, 'the late take-off phenomenon' in the diffusion process of telecommunication services. We compared the parameters of the diffusion process of consumer durables with those of fax services in the US and Korea. By analyzing the parameters of a new diffusion model based on the threshold model proposed by Markus, we found that 'the late take-off phenomenon' resulted from the low heterogeneity of the threshold distribution for the potential adopters. A simulation approach was proposed for the theoretical implication of the 'critical mass' problem in the start-up telecommunications services.

The Underwater Wireless Sensor Network (UWSN) consists of sensor nodes equipped with a small battery of limited energy resource. Hence, the energy efficiency is a key design issue that needs to be addressed in order to improve the lifetime of the network. In this paper, we use a hexagon tessellation with and ideal cell size to deploy the underwater sensor nodes for the UWSN and propose an enhanced hybrid transmission method that considers the load balancing once the data transmission occurs.

In this study, we realized the broadband home gateway system of dual mode based upon EDR 2~3Mbps transmission speed and 300Mbps of 802.11n, In broadcasting and telecommunication convergence networks to deliver multimedia services, high-quality home. The bluetooth module is designed to use general low rate data speed service and the 802.11n module also is designed to use high rate speed service at various home network situation. The dual mode home gateway system, bluetooth and 802.l1n module, is well realized for many specification such as emission power, spurious power, impedance matching, frequency channel test.

Ad hoc MAC protocols using directional antennas can be used to improve the network capacity. Directional antennas have a Deafness problem and decrease throughput of the network caused by increasing backoff duration. Dual channel protocols have been proposed to mitigate the Deafness and hidden node problems. In this paper, we propose a dual channel MAC protocol using a directional antenna to mitigate the Deafness problem and increase the network capacity. The performance of the proposed Ad hoc MAC protocol is confirmed by computer simulations using Qualnet ver. 3.8 simulator.

Circuitry to be connected to a Telecommunication Network consists of SELV CIRCUITS or TNV CIRCUITS. So International Standards, like as ITU-T Recommendation K.11, UL 1950, CSA C22.2 950 have been taken to reduce the risk that the Overvoltages from the power lines and from electrictraction lines, that may be received from the telecommunication network. Legal requirements may exist regarding permission to connect equipment having PTC components to a telecommunication network. Surge suppressors that bridge the insulation shall have a minimum d.c. sparkover voltage of 1.6 times the rated voltage or 1.6 times the upper voltage of the tared voltage range of the equipment. If left in place during electric strength testing of insulation, they shall not be damaged. In this work, The Conception ＆ Fail-Mode Analysis of PTC components for Over-Current Protection is proposed. It guarantees the protection for PL Claim about this Subject.

Recently, mobile wireless data traffic has been dramatically increased due to not only the popularization of digital convergence devices including smart phone, Net-book, and Tablet PC, but also the vitalization of wireless Internet related eco-systems such as AppStore. In addition, it is expected that a tremendous increase in mobile data is caused by the release of unlimited mobile data plans (flat-fee). In order to deal with such mobile data traffic explosion, it is necessary that network operators should make efforts to offload wireless data traffic. This paper reviews the condition of mobile wireless data traffic in domestic and international telecommunication industry and looks for various action plans to overcome the difficulty of network operators.

본 논문에서는 Agere Systems사의 네트워크 프로세서를 사용한 고성능 IP-DiffServ/IP-MPLS 시스템의 구조를 제안하고 성능을 분석한다. 제안한 시스템은 기가비트 이더넷 뿐만 아니라 ATM과 POS 등 다양한 인터페이스를 제공하며 코어 및 에지 라우터로서 MPLS LER 또는 LSR로의 역할을 수행한다. 성능분석은 OPNET을 사용하여 시스템을 모델링한 후 입력 트래픽에 대해서 DiffServ 클래스별 지연시간과 지연의 주된 원인을 분석한다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 시스템의 성능을 극대화할수 있는 네트워크 프로세서의 최적 파라메터를 도출한다. 성능분석 결과, 시스템이 각 서비스 클래스에 대해서 원활한 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 프리미엄 서비스에는 최고의 우선순위를 부여하여 큐에 데이터 블럭들이 찰 때 마다. 즉시 서비스해 주어야 한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 트래픽이 특정 출구 라인카드로 몰리는 핫스팟이 발생할 경우 트래픽의 지연이 증가하게되는데 이 지연의 주요 원인은 출구 라인카드에서의 큐잉에 의한 것임을 알 수 있었다.

In this paper, we propose a novel D-ATR (Differential-Average Transmitted Reference) scheme for UWB (Ultra Wide Band) based on impulse radio. The proposed scheme utilizing differential coding at transceiver, does not cause half loss of data rate unlike the conventional TR (Transmitted Reference) and ATR (Average TR) systems which transmit additional reference signals. In addition, the proposed scheme may provide improved BER (Bit Error Rate) performance by averaging the received reference signals like the conventional ATR. The proposed D-ATR receiver produces the averaged reference template by considering both the detected data bit and the differential coding rule.

유비쿼터스 서비스를 지향하는 신도시 전설 계획이 늘고 있다. 이에 유비쿼터스 서비스에 제공에 적합한 신도시의 액세스망의 형상과 이에 상응하는 통신기초시설의 형상 및 구축방안 등에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 본 고에서는 유비쿼터스 통신망 구성에 적합한 관로망 형상 및 관로의 용량에 대해 알아보고, 유비쿼터스 서비스 제공에 필수적인 센서네트웍 구성에 필요한 통신기초시설 및 관련 설비의 구성 방안 등에 대해 살펴보았다. 아울러 통신기초시설을 도시 기반시설의 관점에서 바라보는 시각과 통신사업자의 관점에서 보는 차이점 등에 대해 알아보고 이에 따른 해법을 찾아 보았다.
