Neutronic simulation of the CEFR experiments with the nodal diffusion code system RAST-F

  • CEFR is a small core-size sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR) using high enrichment fuel with stainless-steel reflectors, which brings a significant challenge to the deterministic methodologies due to the strong spectral effect. The neutronic simulation of the start-up experiments conducted at the CEFR have been performed with a deterministic code system RAST-F, which is based on the two-step approach that couples a multi-group cross-section generation Monte-Carlo (MC) code and a multi-group nodal diffusion solver. The RAST-F results were compared against the measurement data. Moreover, the characteristic of neutron spectrum in the fuel rings, and adjacent reflectors was evaluated using different models for generation of accurate nuclear libraries. The numerical solution of RAST-F system was verified against the full core MC solution MCS at all control rods fully inserted and withdrawn states. A good agreement between RAST-F and MCS solutions was observed with less than 120 pcm discrepancies and 1.2% root-mean-square error in terms of keff and power distribution, respectively. Meanwhile, the RAST-F result agreed well with the experimental values within two-sigma of experimental uncertainty. The good agreement of these results indicating that RAST-F can be used to neutronic steady-state simulations for small core-size SFR, which was challenged to deterministic code system.

  • 예비창업자 및 스타트업을 지원하고 활성화하기 위한 국가차원의 제도적·정책적 지원이 강화되고 있다. 그러나 이들은 창업준비 과정에서 필요한 정보의 부족으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 예비창업자 및 스타트업이 보다 체계적이고 견실한 창업 진행 과정을 거치도록 콘텐츠나 서비스 측면에서 지원하기 위해서는, 그들의 정보요구 및 정보이용행태를 면밀히 분석할 필요가 있다. 정보이용행태 분석은 도서관 정보서비스 기관에서 학술정보 이용자의 정보요구에 맞추어 해당 정보서비스의 개선을 위해 활용하는 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 예비창업자 및 스타트업을 대상으로 정보이용행태를 분석하였다. 정보이용행태를 조사하기 위한 대표적인 기법인 집단심층면접조사를 예비창업자와 스타트업을 대상으로 실시하였으며, 콘텐츠 분석을 통해 이들의 창업 진행 과정, 창업 정보 탐색 현황, 창업 정보원 활용 수준 및 인식을 조사하였다. 이들의 정보이용행태를 반영하여 창업지원 기관 및 프로그램의 콘텐츠와 서비스를 개선할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

The Neural-Fuzzy Control of a Transformer Cooling System

  • In transformer cooling systems, oil temperature is controlled through the use of a blower and oil pump. For this paper, set-point algorithms, a reset algorithm and control algorithms of the cooling system were developed by neural networks and fuzzy logics. The oil inlet temperature was set by a $2{\times}2{\times}1$ neural network, and the oil temperature difference was set by a $2{\times}3{\times}1$ neural network. Inputs used for these neural networks were the transformer operating ratio and the air inlet temperature. The inlet set temperature was reset by a fuzzy logic based on the transformer operating ratio and the oil outlet temperature. A blower was used to control the inlet oil temperature while the oil pump was used to control the oil temperature difference by fuzzy logics. In order to analysis the performance of these algorithms, the initial start-up test and the step change test were performed by using the dynamic model of a transformer cooling system. Test results showed that algorithms developed for this study were effective in controlling the oil temperature of a transformer cooling system.

Japanese Financing Policies for Innovation Since the 1990s

  • Since the 1990s, the Japanese government has made considerable attempts at stimulating innovation with an aim to pull the country out of a possibly permanent economic decline. Several laws and policy initiatives were introduced to encourage better interaction between universities (and research institutions) and industry. The results of these efforts have been mixed. While the number of university-industry joint and commissioned research has increased, revenues from the licensing of university-owned patents have fluctuated year by year. Although the number of startups and spin-offs from universities rose, their long-term survival and contribution to the economy remain uncertain. The Japanese experience features both strengths and weaknesses. Strengths include the long-term commitment of policy makers, the ability to set specific targets, and the active engagement of several key economic ministries. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of these policy initiatives was hampered by limitations within the policies concerning the roles of universities and their mode of interaction with industry based on intellectual property rights, the inadequacy of demand-side innovation policies, the fragmentation of bureaucracy, and a lack of a credible evaluation system.

창업대학원과 대학생을 연계한 창업컨설팅 사례연구: 액션러닝을 활용한 창업교육 및 컨설팅 프로그램 (Case study on startup consulting with students of entrepreneuship graduate and undergraduate: Entrepreneurship training and consulting program using action learning)

  • 경영혁신도구로 액션러닝 활용비중은 점차 높아지고 있으나, 5인 이하 규모의 창업인의 경우에는 활용에 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 사례로 경남과학기술대학교 창업대학원에서 운영하고 있는 '창업교육 및 컨설팅 융합프로그램'을 살펴보았다. 본 프로그램은 교수가 퍼실리테이터로 참가하고 대학생으로 구성된 팀이 창업대학원생 창업과제를 해결하는 프로그램이다. 본 프로그램의 운영사례는 다음과 같은 의미를 가진다. 첫째, 학부생이 창업과정에 직접 참여함으로써 대학생에게 창업경험을 제공하고 창업마인드 고취 및 역량강화 효과를 기대할 수 있다. 둘째, 창업자의 입장에서는 잠재적 수요자에게 아이템을 직접 검증받는 기회를 갖는다. 검증은 팀활동을 통한 집단지성의 활용과정에서 이루어진다. 이 과정에서 만들어지는 아이디어는 창업자에게 창업과정에서 발생하는 구체적이고 현실적 현안들을 제공한다. 셋째, 참여교수의 퍼실리테이터 기능을 대학원생과 학부생이 학습하는 기회를 가진다. 본 연구결과는 지역의 창업기반과 교육기관을 연계하여 대학내 교육 프로그램을 지역사회에 확산하는 기반을 효과적으로 마련 할 수 있을것이다. 교육과정에서 대학원생과 대학생은 퍼실리테이터로 프로그램 확산에 참여하는 효과가 기대된다.

창업보육센터의 중장기 발전 전략: 창업기업 인터뷰와 선진국 창업보육센터 벤치마킹을 토대로 (Mid- to Long-term Development Strategies of Business Incubation Centers - Based on Interviews with Start-up Companies and Benchmarking of Business Incubation Centers in Developed Countries)

  • The purpose of this study was to make a mid- and long-term development plan on the business incubator center after interviewing five startups that currently being occupied in or already left the center and reviewing benchmark on business incubator centers in developed countries such as USA, Sweden, and Israel. For the interview, the three startups currently being occupied in the center and the two companies already left the center were participated. The main strengths of the center from all of these five companies were easy accessibility to the equipment and space and at the same time trustworthy from the outside vendors and/or government, etc. USA is a leading country who has long history for the startups but mostly the private companies/organizations/individuals have supported the startups in terms of funding or consulting. Also, there are countless local governments nationwide who provide funding, education, and/or space for the small businesses. Mainly based on the interview and the benchmarking, the mid- and long-term development plan for the business incubator center was made. All six themes such as consortium for investment or a local network plan were derived for the development plan which was described in this study.

기술지주회사 사업 모델 제안: 창업투자회사 사례를 중심으로 (A Proposal on the Business Model of Technology Holding Company Focused on the Case Study of Venture Capital in Korea)

  • 한국에 기술지주회사가 도입된 시기는 2008년이며, 2014년 기준으로 대학의 기술지주회사는 39개가 설립되어 운영 중이고 연구소 기술지주회사로는 에트리홀딩스(주)가 유일하다. 기술지주회사는 대학이나 연구소의 기술을 이전하고 창업을 지원하기 위해 설립되었는데, 기술지주회사가 도입된 지 7년이 경과하고 있지만 아직 본격적인 수익을 거두고 있지 않은 실정이다. 지주회사는 기본적으로 투자 회사이고 투자한 기업을 통하여 수익을 거두는 기업이며, 창업투자회사도 창업기업에 투자하여 수익을 거두는 기업으로 기본적으로 지주회사 수익 모델과 유사하다. 본 연구는 국내 2개 창업투자회사에 대한 사례 연구를 통해 기술지주회사의 수익 모델에 대한 바람직한 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 즉, 재무제표 중심의 정량적 분석 결과, 기술지주회사의 바람직한 사업 모델로는 순수지주회사 보다는 사업도 같이 병행하는 사업지주회사 성격이 보다 적절하다는 것을 제시하였으며, 구체적 사업모델로 인큐베이팅이나 경영자문 등을 추가할 것을 제안하였다.

코로나19 이후 ICT 중소벤처기업 정책 딜레마분석 (A Policy Dilemma Analysis on ICT SMEs after COVID19)

  • This study analyzed the policy dilemma for ICT SMEs venture companies that changed after COVID-19 based on the results of the cognitive map analysis for ICT SMEs venture policies. First, as a result of analyzing the cognitive map of ICT SMEs venture companies that have changed since COVID-19, ICT venture companies are expanding support for ICT venture companies due to the threat of COVID-19. However, in order to convert COVID-19 into an opportunity factor, it also shows a policy direction to achieve innovative growth by creating a new market through non-face-to-face industry revitalization based on digital transformation (digital new deal). As a result of the study, the policy measures of supporting DNA-centered convergence innovation technology, digital transformation (digital new deal), fostering ICT startups (K-Global project), and expanding support for ICT SMEs did not have a policy dilemma. However, although many support has been expanded for ICT SMEs due to COVID-19, it is difficult to find and foster ICT start-up companies, and globalization problems are occurring due to the decrease in exports to COVID-19, making it difficult to create new markets. There is a negative (-) perception of causality that ICT SMEs venture companies may face risks as jobs decrease and innovative growth cannot be led to the revitalization of the non-face-to-face industry. Therefore, it was found that both the flow of causal relationship between the expansion of support for ICT SMEs and the high growth of ICT SMEs is not + and has a policy dilemma in part.

산학협력 캡스톤디자인 매칭 플랫폼 개발 연구 (Development Study of Capstone Design Matching Platform based on Industry-Academic Cooperation)

  • The purpose of universities is diversifying, such as education and research for the transfer of knowledge and technology, and training talented people with the competencies required in industrial sites. Therefore, universities are attempting various forms of industry-academic cooperation to maintain organic relations with companies and to conduct research activities, technology sharing, technology development, technology transfer, and human resources training. In particular, in the field of engineering education, various industry-academic cooperation programs such as field training, interns, and start-up support are actively developed and operated. Accordingly, the Engineering Education Innovation Research Information Center developed an online industry-academic cooperation capstone design matching platform for engineering education to enable collaboration between universities and companies nationwide. The industry-academic cooperation matching platform was developed under the theme of capstone design. Capstone design is a project-oriented and problem-based learning method that combines the knowledge and experiences acquired by the undergraduate department and designs and produces them. The subject of the Capstone design project was to solve corporate difficulties and allow companies and universities to collaborate. This study developed an online industry-academic cooperation capstone design matching platform according to analysis, design, development, evaluation, and execution procedures. This study is meaningful in that it has developed a channel through which students and companies, who are the subjects of industry-academic cooperation, can carry out projects and communicate organically through an online matching platform.

스프레이 열전달을 이용한 저온도차 스털링 엔진의 실험적 개념 연구 (Experimental Feasibility Study on Low-Temperature Differential Stirling Engines with Water Spray Heat Transfer)

  • 본 연구는 스프레이 열전달을 이용한 저온도차 스털링 엔진의 실험적 개념 연구를 제시한다. 스프레이 열교환기는 노즐을 통하여 엔진 작동 공간에 직접 물을 분사함으로써 엔진 성능을 저해하는 불용 공간을 최소화하고 열전달 효율을 높였다. 직접 구현된 실험 스털링 엔진의 실증 실험은 운전 시점의 기동 특성, 정상 상태의 운전 특성, 엔진의 출력 특성에 대하여 진행하였다. 실험 결과, 열수 유량 증가에 대하여 엔진 기동 시 작동 최소 온도는 감소한 반면, 고온부 온도와 고온부-저온부 온도차는 대체로 일정하였다. 정상 상태 운전의 경우 열수 온도 및 유량 증가에 대하여 작동 주파수는 증가하였다. 엔진 출력은 열수 온도 및 유량 증가에 따라 사이클당 일 및 작동 주파수 증가로 인하여 증가하였다. 본 연구에서 구현된 실험 스털링 엔진은 열수 유량 30 ml/min, 열수 온도 $65^{\circ}C$, 고온부-저온부 온도차 $6^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 엔진 출력 0.05W 수준으로 안정된 기동 및 운전 특성을 보였으며, 향후 출력 증가 및 다양한 적용 연구를 지속할 계획이다.
