MRU-Net: A remote sensing image segmentation network for enhanced edge contour Detection

  • Remote sensing image segmentation plays an important role in realizing intelligent city construction. The current mainstream segmentation networks effectively improve the segmentation effect of remote sensing images by deeply mining the rich texture and semantic features of images. But there are still some problems such as rough results of small target region segmentation and poor edge contour segmentation. To overcome these three challenges, we propose an improved semantic segmentation model, referred to as MRU-Net, which adopts the U-Net architecture as its backbone. Firstly, the convolutional layer is replaced by BasicBlock structure in U-Net network to extract features, then the activation function is replaced to reduce the computational load of model in the network. Secondly, a hybrid multi-scale recognition module is added in the encoder to improve the accuracy of image segmentation of small targets and edge parts. Finally, test on Massachusetts Buildings Dataset and WHU Dataset the experimental results show that compared with the original network the ACC, mIoU and F1 value are improved, and the imposed network shows good robustness and portability in different datasets.

Engineering Theory: A Conversational Bridge Between Theoreticians and Practitioners in Discussion of Curriculum Development and Dissemination as Used in the DASH Program

  • This paper advances the thesis that the barrier separating curriculum theorists and practitioners is more than a difference in experiential and methodological orientation and is in part a product of a lack of appreciation of the complexities involved in curriculum development and dissemination. Discussed here is the possible use of engineering theory to facilitate meaningful communication and understanding about products and development. This work is an extension of the observation that curriculum development and dissemination can be characterized as an engineering process and shows how engineering theory provides connectivity between the multiple embedded domains of theory and of practice. To illustrate the thesis this paper offers an analysis of the Developmental Approaches in Science, Health, and Technology (DASH) program that has employed engineering theory in curriculum construction and dissemination. In this study, the role and place of engineering theory as applied to the DASH program is discussed to show how the components were designed and assembled into a fully functional curriculum and dissemination system. Engineering theory is presented as an interfacing organizer with the potential to facilitate meaningful communication between theorists and practitioners.

User Information Collection of Weibo Network Public Opinion under Python

  • Although the network environment is gradually improving, the virtual nature of the network is still the same fact, which has brought a great influence on the supervision of Weibo network public opinion dissemination. In order to reduce this influence, the user information of Weibo network public opinion dissemination is studied by using Python technology. Specifically, the 2019 "Ethiopian air crash" event was taken as the research subject, the relevant data were collected by using Python technology, and the data from March 10, 2019 to June 20, 2019 were constructed by using the implicit Dirichlet distribution topic model and the naive Bayes classifier. The Weibo network public opinion user identity graph model under the "Ethiopian air crash" on June 20 found that the public opinion users of ordinary netizens accounted for the highest proportion and were easily influenced by media public opinion users. This influence is not limited to ordinary netizens. Public opinion users have an influence on other types of public opinion users. That is to say, in the network public opinion space of the "Ethiopian air crash," media public opinion users play an important role in the dissemination of network public opinion information. This research can lay a foundation for the classification and identification of user identity information types under different public opinion life cycles. Future research can start from the supervision of public opinion and the type of user identity to improve the scientific management and control of user information dissemination through Weibo network public opinion.

Optimizing Innovative Tools for Dissemination of Information in Nigerian Academic Libraries During Post-COVID Era

  • In order to support the mission of the institution in which they are attached, academic libraries provide services in both manual and digital but COVID -19 pandemic that spanned between March and September, 2020 has changed the scenario. With particular reference to Nigeria, about 249,606 cases were confirmed and in order to curb the scourge of this deadly disease, physical academic activities were prevented by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). With this development, innovative tools became indispensable tools for successful delivery of library services in Nigerian academic libraries. Whether or not these tools are still in use for reformation of library service during post- Covid era remains unclear, hence, need for this study. This study examined librarians' use of innovative tools for information dissemination in Nigerian academic libraries during the post-Covid era using a descriptive survey design. Data were obtained both in quantitative and qualitative formats from one hundred and forty-four librarians as respondents. A total enumeration sampling technique was adopted because the population was minimal. Findings of the study revealed that innovative tools such as videoconferencing, WhatsApp, teleconferencing, Facebook, LinkedIn, and web-based learning applications are still in use by librarians for the dissemination of information during the post-Covid era. These tools are useful and beneficial to librarians during the post-COVID era, as they facilitate easy participation and engagement of library users in various discussions. Inadequate funding and lack of advanced technology skills were also identified as major impediments to the successful use of innovative tools for information dissemination. As a result, it was suggested that academic libraries throughout Nigeria prioritize staff training on the necessary digital skills needed to cope in this advanced technology era.

성장기술 프로그램의 보급 및 활용에 관한 연구 (Dissemination and Utilization of Growing-up Skills Program)

  • 그동안 사회복지 임상실천 분야에서 주로 관심을 기울여 온 것은 개입방법의 개발과 효과성 측정 연구였다. 반면 이러한 연구 결과물이 어떻게 현장에 보급되고 활용되는지에 대한 관심은 상대적으로 부족한 편이었다. 이러한 현상은 결과적으로 연구와 실천간의 괴리를 초래할 수 있다는 비판이 제기되면서, 최근 외국에서는 사회복지 분야에서도 이론과 실천, 또는 학문과 현장을 잇는 중요한 기제로서 지식 및 기술의 보급과 활용에 대한 관심이 부각되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 본 연구자가 프로그램 개발에 이어 현장보급 노력을 기울여 온 성장기술 프로그램을 중심으로 현장보급 과정과 활용현황을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 보급과 활용에 관한 기존 이론 및 모델들을 정리하고, 그 중 Herie와 Martin의 연구-실천 가교 모델에 의거하여 성장기술 프로그램의 현장 보급과정 및 활용 상황을 추적 조사하고 분석해 보았다. 그 결과 성장기술 프로그램 보급과정의 문제점으로는 구체적인 전략의 부재, 계획성 부족으로 인한 즉흥적인 대응, 초기 보급 대상자에 대한 허술한 파악 등을 도출할 수 있었다. 그리고 효과적인 보급과 활용을 위해서는 적절한 모델을 선택하고 그에 따라 보급과정을 적용하고 실천할 것, 프로그램 개발과정부터 보급에 대해 염두를 두고 진행할 것, 프로그램 개발 뿐 아니라 현장 피드백 확보를 위한 노력을 기울일 것, 그리고 사회복지 교육 및 연구에서 전파과정에 대한 부분을 강화할 것 등을 제언하였다. 이를 통해 몇 가지 한계점들에도 불구하고 보급 및 활용에 대한 중요성을 제시할 수 있었으며, 성장기술 프로그램의 현장 활용성도 파악할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 보급과 활용에 대한 논의들은 국내에서 진행되는 연구의 전파 뿐 아니라 그동안 외국으로부터 도입해온 개입방법들을 한국 상황에 맞게 토착화하기 위하여 앞으로 더욱 활성화될 필요가 있을 것이다.

  • 선택적 정보 제공인 SDI(Selective Dissemination of Information) 서비스는 이용자가 탐색 전략을 입력하여 서비스를 신청하면 데이터베이스가 갱신될 때마다 자동으로 이용자에게 공지되는데, 본 연구에서는 이러한 SDI 서비스를 XML 포맷인 RSS로 제공하기 위해 동적 RSS 채널 생성기를 개발하였다. RSS는 웹사이트에 갱신되는 정보를 신속히 전달-교환하게 해주는 도구로서 많은 정보를 갱신과 동시에 받아볼 수 있게 해준다. 이러한 RSS를 활용함으로써 이용자는 미리 신청한 맞춤정보서비스 뿐만 아니라 키워드 검색에 대한 검색결과 간략화면을 XML포맷의 RSS로 받아봄으로써 웹사이트를 방문하지 않고도 실시간으로 재검색 결과를 확인해 볼 수 있다.

  • 본 연구는 R&DDD(Research & Development, Demonstration, Dissemination: $R&D^3$)로 구성되는 연구개발과정의 마지막 단계인 확산단계에 관한 내용을 다루고 있다. 확산단계(Dissemination Stage)에서는 개발된 기술과 다른 대안들과의 비교 평가가 이루어지고 최종적으로 가장 바람직한 방안이 선정되게 된다. 이 단계에서 이루어지는 기술대안에 대한 평가는 단순한 과정이 아니고, 기술적 특성뿐만 아니라 경제적 효과 등 여러 가지 요소들이 고려되어야 하는 복합적인 평가과정을 거치게 된다. 이는 오늘날 산업계 각 분야에서 바람직한 기술대안의 평가, 선정, 적용이 기업의 경쟁우위에 지대한 영향을 미치며 나아가 기업의 생존 및 성장을 좌우하기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 열공급시스템의 기술적 대안에 대한 AHP방법을 고찰하고, 이 방법의 실무적 적용가능성을 검토하기 위해 에너지기술분야에서 폐열 활용시스템 대안들에 대한 평가에 적용한 결과를 보여주고 있다.

그리드 환경을 위한 데이터 분산 전송 기법 (A Data Dissemination Mechanism for Grid Environments)

  • 다양한 그리드 커뮤니티가 생겨나면서 그리드 환경에서의 데이터 분산 전송의 요구가 증가하고 있다. 기존 LAN 환경 또는 특수 목적 네트워크망에서는 데이터 분산 전송을 위해서 멀티캐스팅 기술을 활용하여 네트워크 트래픽을 많이 줄일 수 있었다. 하지만 전송 성능이 일반 유니캐스트 전송보다 좋지 못하고, 하드웨어 지원 없이는 일반적인 WAN 환경에서 멀티 캐스팅을 적용할 수 없다는 단점을 갖고 있어서 그리드 응용에 적용하는 데는 한계가 있다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해서 본 논문에서는 데이터 분산 전송 기법인 DDMG(Data Dissemination Mechanism for Grid)를 제안하였다. DDMG는 보다 신속한 데이터 전송을 위하여 P2P 데이터 공유 방법을 활용하였으며, 또한 Globus XIO 라이브러리를 활용하여 그리드 환경의 다양한 프로토콜을 지원하도록 설계하였다. 본 논문에서는 DDMG 기법을 구현하여 LAN 환경과 WAN 환경에서 일반 유니캐스트 전송 방법과 비교 분석하였다.

Information Dissemination During the COVID-19 Pandemic in Bangladesh

  • The main aim of this study is to identify the role of information dissemination on urban and rural citizens of Bangladesh during the COVID-19 pandemic and the role of misinformation in this process. The study also aimed at finding appropriate counter misinformation strategies regarding COVID-19. An online questionnaire was prepared to collect the viewpoints of the urban and rural citizens of Bangladesh regarding dissemination of information during COVID-19, misinformation regarding COVID-19, and counter misinformation strategies. Along with demographic and general information, a five-point Likert scale was used to measure COVID-19 related misinformation beliefs and how to counter them. Chi square tests were used to determine the association between current residency, information sources, the importance of information dissemination, reactions after getting COVID related information, and evaluative steps after getting information and before disseminating it. Additionally, nonparametric Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were conducted to know the significance of difference in respondents' assessment on COVID-19 related misinformation in terms of their demographic characteristics. Cronbach's alpha score was obtained to see the reliability of the questionnaire items. The current study reveals that both urban and rural citizens of Bangladesh are influenced by information dissemination regarding COVID-19 and they have lower level of misinformation belief. The respondents have differences in misinformation belief by different demographic groups. Respondents' educational status, information literacy, sources of getting information, and evaluative steps after getting information have significant differences in misinformation belief. The study also noticed the support of respondents for countering misinformation strategies regarding COVID-19.

국내의 수소 자동차 실용화를 위한 전략 방안 (The Strategy Plans for Practical use of Hydrogen Fueled Vehicles in Domestic)

  • Hydrogen fueled vehicle was evaluated as one of the next-generation technology that will be able to solve the global warming, depletion of fossil fuel and etc. The practical use of hydrogen fueled vehicle, nevertheless, is being delayed more than expected schedule due to various causes. In order to promote the dissemination of hydrogen fueled vehicle, development status and obstacle factors of practical use for hydrogen fueled vehicles were reviewed and the strategy plans for dissemination promotion were proposed. Hydrogen fueled vehicles are included the hydrogen fuel cell, neat and enriched hydrogen fueled engines. The technicalness, economy, safety, cognizance, system, support and etc were considered in the strategy plans.
