This paper analyzed the relationship between human resource development intent, human resource development implementation, firm's competitiveness. In addition, the indirect effect of organizational commitment was also assumed. The data for the research were integrated at the company level(500 companies) and used the data of 9,516 employees collected in the 2nd survey of "the Human Capital Company Panel II" of the "Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training". The structural equation modeling was useed to analyze the analysing model. According to the analysis results, HRD intent had a positively significant effect on firm's competitiveness. And HRD implementation had a positively significant effect on firm's competitiveness. From the indirect effect through bootstrapping analysis, the organizational commitment showed indirect effects from HRD intent and HRD complementation to firm's competitiveness.

The service industry has become very important for almost every country. The same goes for Korea, as its service industry accounts for more than 60 percent of GDP. However, it is true that the competitiveness of Korea's service industry is very low compared to that of major developed countries. It is particularly true for knowledge-intensive service sectors. In this reason, Korea needs to strengthen the competitiveness of domestic service sectors. There have been many studies on service innovation models. 1his paper tries to explore how to enhance the competitiveness of Korean service industry. It argues that the science and technology will play an essential role in strengthening the competitiveness of many service sectors and technology and innovation management will be very important also for them. Therefore, based on the review on existinf models, this paper suggests a "Model of Strategic Services Innovation Management" which is composed of strategic intent, technological innovation, and organizational innovation. Based on this model this paper analyzes two cases: Wal-Mart and Incheon International Airport Co. According to our analyzes, both companies have enhanced their competitiveness significantly based on technological and organizational innovations, which have been initiated at corporate leveL Therefore, the Korean service industry should actively adopt the Strategic Services Innovation Management Model in order to enhance its competitiveness and productivity.

This study examines empirically the characteristics of agricultural corporations in terms of their market and technology environment and the efficiency of the governmental support to the firms. Also the study analyzes the moderating effect of the environmental characteristics on the relationship between governmental supports and firm performance based on the concept of balanced performance. Test results show that firm tend to evaluate favorably their technology and market competitiveness of product quality and price and to require tools for reaction to changes of customer needs and technology or competing products and external corporation that is necessary for long-term technological competitiveness. As for governmental support, strategic support and service is much more appreciated than direct individual supporting item. Agricultural corporations with unfavorable market environment evaluate relatively high on their balanced performance. Correlations of balanced performance factors and technology environmental factors show all positive statistical significance. The moderating effect of the environmental characteristics on the relationship between governmental support and balanced performance can be interpreted that the support is provided without considering environmental aspect and based only on financial performance and as a result not to be satisfied by agricultural corporations with technological competitiveness.

This paper is aimed to analyze the determinants and their relative importance that affect regional competitiveness in the era of globalization and climate change. The panel model was set by a balanced panel data for 7 metropolitan areas & 9 provinces and for the period of 2001~2010. Gross regional income per capita is used as the dependent variable and competitiveness-based factors, economic production factors, and climate change adaptation factors are selected as the explanatory variables. In this study, Model 1(typical regional competitiveness model) and Model 2 (added adaptation to climate change adaptation factors) were compared. The important findings can be summarized as follows. The most influential determinants on regional competitiveness are the ratio of knowledge-based industries and human capital and energy inefficiencies decrease the regional competitiveness. Compared to Model 1, Model 2 showed that the effects of the regional openness and the technology innovation capital are relatively more influential in Model 2. The results of this empirical study provide policy implications to strengthen the regional competitiveness in the future of the era of globalization and climate change.

Autonomous-driving is a major technology that leads to the fourth industrial revolution. Due to recent advances in autonomous-driving technologies and deregulation, it is expected that commercialization of autonomous vehicle with level 3 or higher will begin in earnest. This research aims to evaluate the competitiveness of technology through patent analysis in autonomous driving field. In this study, patent trends were analyzed and patent indicators were analyzed for patents in Korea, the United States, Japan, and Europe that were published and registered until July 2021. Through this, it is going to identify detailed technologies that need to be focused on in order to be competitive in autonomous driving technologies and diagnose Korea's national competitiveness.

This research explores a framework of selecting suitable industry cooperation ares between South Korea and North Korea using analysis of science and technology(S&T) competitiveness. First, a generic framework to set up S&T cooperation with North Korea, which involves both a continuity as an evolving process and a peculiarity of S&T, is presented. Second, a selection procedure of specific S&T areas for South and North cooperation is suggested. It is also demonstrated how to select suitable S&T cooperation areas under two types of scenarios. Finally, promotion strategies for each scenario are described.

Bioharmaceutical technologies have consistently been areas in which large licensing agreements have been negotiated. However, there are very limited informations in the open literature on how its running royalty rates are determined and no specific methods are yet provided. The purpose of this study is to suggest an appropriate method for the estimation of running royalty of bioharmaceutical technology in licensing agreements. Here distribution of risk-adjusted operating margins are obtained by simulation using statistics of success rates in the stage of clinical trials and profit margins. Three factors based on technology, business and license legal terms are considered and combined as licensing competitiveness level. Finally, reasonable running royalty is estimated by combining simulated distribution and licensing competitiveness level. This suggested method is expected to practically useful for licensor to establish an appropriate running royalty rate for licensing.

Infinite competition on ICT industries is starting again. The basis of competence over global dominance will be human resource, a global ecosystem for products and national agenda for science and technology, etc.. This paper presents the six solution for the Global Competitiveness and Coexistence of Korean ICT Industries. Korea should nurture the brand of "World Best Korean ICT Forever" to secure technical competency of ICT related fields in global market. All ICT technologies should be aligned to global standard and market demand from beginning and the ecosystem around product needs to be established. System framework for utilizing the resource of core SW experts must be established. Through global partnership with China as manufacturing base for Korea-developed products, technical competency can be maintained including product planning. Security measure for technical assets is mandatory. Finally, core technology that will drive the future of ICT industries in Korea should be regarded as core subjects.
