A Study on Shape Measuring Technique of a Yacht Sail (요트세일의 형상계측 기법 연구)

  • In this study, we introduced image processing technic to measure shape variations of general bodies and applied it to the flexible yacht sail. Shape measurements of simple bodies sails were carried out and results showed that technic can be a reliable method to measure shape variations of the flexible yacht sail. The sail shape variation of 30ft sloop type yacht sail is measured on different sailing conditions. As velocity and direction of wind are increased, trailing edges in the upper part of the sail become more open than the lower part of the sail which are not changed. So it is confirmed that the shape measurement of a sail shape depending on a sailing condition is possible to use image processing scheme.

  • In this study, a pressure sensor for each displacement was fabricated based on the silicon-based pressure sensor obtained through simulation results. Wires were bonded to the pressure sensor, and a piezoresistive pressure sensor was inserted into the printed circuit board (PCB) base by directly connecting a micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) sensor and a readout integrated circuit (ROIC) for signal processing. In addition, to prevent exposure, a non-conductive liquid silicone was injected into the sensor and the entire ROIC using a pipette. The packaging proceeded to block from the outside. Performing such packaging, comparing simple contact with strong contact, and confirming that the measured pulse wavelength appears accurately.

  • High kilovoltage technique as compared with low kilovoltage in taking chest radiogram has much advantages. Authors performed an experiment by using acryl phantom to make the technical chart at 120KV and obtained the results as follows; 1. Increase and decrease of tube voltage in thickness change was 3.2KV per cm at variable technic chart. 2. At fixed kilovoltage technic chart, increase and decrease was $0.12{\sim}0.2$ mAs per cm in chest thickness. 3. Increase and decrease of distance was 1.3inches per cm in thicknese change

  • 본 논문에서는 RGB 멀티칩 LED모듈을 구성하고 포워드 컨버터 방식의 Red LED의 구동전압인 13V 및 Green과 Blue LED의 구동전압인 21V의 다중출력 SMPS를 설계하였다. 설계 제작된 SMPS로 RGB 멀티칩 LED 모듈을 구동하였으며 21V 및 13V의 전압 출력이 안정적으로 구동됨을 확인하였으며 Red, Green, Blue 각각의 LED는 안정적으로 구동됨을 확인하였다. 또한 구동용 SMPS는 역률제어를 통하여 안정성을 향상시켰다.

  • The objective of this paper is to decide optimal location of pin-hole to minimize stress concenstation around hole in rotating disc. The focus of this investigation is to evaluate the effect of pin-hole for stress distribution around hole using optimum design technic and finite element analysis. Design variables are radial and angular location of pin-hole from center of hole, objective function is maximum stress around hole in rotating disc. We use first order method of optimization technic.

  • Objectives : This study aimed to introduce a new sacral lumbar joint distraction technique in the prone position in Chuna manual therapy for effective lumbar distraction. Methods : The patient was placed in the prone position. Next, clinicians contacted the sacrum and L1, L2, L3, L4 and L5 spinal processes. Then they were pulled in the direction of the head and leg respectively while pressing down with 30% force to maintain the lumbar lordosis. This is a more effective and safer lumbar distraction technique according to the latest knowledge. Conclusions : This technique can be used for lumbar disc herniation in addition to relaxing the existing lumbar muscles, and is suggested to be used as a safe and effective Chuna manual therapy.

  • This paper presents a new robot trajectory generation method based on the curvatre theory of ruled surfacees. robot trajectory is represented as a ruled surface generated by the TCP (Tool center point ) and any one unit vector among the tool frame (usually denoted O, A,N). The curvature theory of ruled surfaces provides the robot control algorithm with the motion property oarameters. The proposed method eliminates the necessity of approximation technic of either joint or cartesian interpolation. This technic may give new methodology of precision robot control. Especially this is very efficient when the robot traces an analytical or form surface if the surface is geometrically modelled.

  • Rupture of aortic is for the most part a terminal disorder and requires prompt and aggressive treatment. Most of the patients who develop this condition outside the hospital die before appropriate therapy can be instituted. Thus prompt treatment, sometimes innovative, resulted in a highly significant survival rate. We experionced 21 aortic rupture due to mycotic aneurysm and another 3 due to chest trauma. Operation was done in 11 cases, and mortality was 3 of 11 cases. In another 10 cases, operation was not performed and all of them were expired. We confirmed diagnosis using only non invasive technic as ultrasonogram and computed tomography and invasive technic like aniography was absolutely avoided. Preoperative management was aimed to lower blood pressure for the purpose of preventing srcondary bleeding, and operantions erer porformed promptly if possible.
