Prediction of Heating Load for Optimum Heat Supply in Apartment Building (공동주택의 최적 열공급을 위한 난방부하 예측에 관한 연구)

  • It is necessary to predict the heating load in order to determine the optimal scheduling control of district heating systems. Heating loads are affected by many complex parameters, and therefore, it is necessary to develop an efficient, flexible, and easy to use prediction method for the heating load. In this study, simple specifications included in a building design document and the estimated temperature and humidity are used to predict the heating load on the next day. To validate the performance of the proposed method, heating load data measured from a benchmark district heating system are compared with the predicted results. The predicted outdoor temperature and humidity show a variation trend that agrees with the measured data. The predicted heating loads show good agreement with the measured hourly, daily, and monthly loads. During the heating period, the monthly load error was estimated to be 4.68%.

A Development of Framework for Selecting Labor Attendance Management System Considering Condition of Construction Site (건설 현장 특성을 고려한 출역관리시스템 선정 프레임워크 개발)

  • Labor attendance management has traditionally been carried out by writing a table for checking an attendance of labor, which requires a lot of time and effort. As electronic devices with additions such as barcodes, Quick Response codes, and Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) have been developed, however, automated labor attendance management systems have appeared. Recently, various types of labor recognition devices converged with biometrics (fingerprint, vein, face recognition, etc.) have been released. However, although these devices can be used to check attendance automatically, there is insufficient guidance when it comes to selecting the appropriate labor attendance management system for construction sites. Therefore, this study proposed a decision framework to determine which labor attendance management system would be suitable for a construction site and to select the labor recognition device. This study investigated different labor recognition devices, focusing on how they worked, and tested the performance of devices and their usability for construction labor attendance management. The test results showed that RFID is most suitable when verifying the attendance of many laborers over a short period of time. The devices for hand vein and fingerprint recognition did not function when there was a foreign material such as cement or paint on the laborer's hand, except for a deformed finger. Reflecting these test results, this study suggested a framework for selecting a labor attendance system and recognition device; this is expected to contribute to the development of more efficient labor management systems.

Citizens' Consciousness on Urban Changes in Large Cities in the 1990s(1) : A Comparative Study on Urban Social Sectors (1990년대 대도시의 변화에 관한 시민 의식 연구(1) : 사회 부문별 비교)

  • This paper is to analyze citizens' consciousness on urban changes during the 1900s in the sectors of economy, politics and socio-culture of large cities in Korea, especially comparing them in Seoul, Daejeon, Daegu, and Kywangju. The items of questionnaire are drawn from theories on each sector of new urbanization of large city in Western countries, that is, that of post-Fordism, of urban governance, of post-modernism, and of sustainable city. Some major findings of this questionnaire analysis are as follows. First, on the change of large cities in general, citizens think that the sectors of spatial structure, and of socio-culture of the cities were changed more than those of urban economy and of urban politics. Secondly, in the sector of urban economy, citizens recognize that the obstructing factors of development, that is, the lack of regional capital and the absence of head-quarter of large firms, which seems to be resulted from uneven regional development in the previous periods were much more serious than others, while acknowledging the importance of high-tech industry. Thirdly, in the sector of urban politics, citizens think that the centralized structure of politics and of political parties was still problematic, while acknowledging the importance of entrepreneur mind of urban governor. Finally, in the sector of urban socio-culture, citizens emphasize the development of telecommunication, the popularization of private automobile and the increasing use of credit card, as three major factors which have exercised major impacts on the development of urban socio-culture.

The New Urbanization Process and Changing Urban Space of Daejon in the 1990s (1990년대 대전의 신도시화 과정과 도시 공간의 변화)

  • There is a general agreement that the global social-economic system is undergoing fundamental changes, which can be explained in terms of the transformation of production system from the Fordism to Post-Fordism since the 1980s. These fundamental changes have resulted in the 'new urbanization' process in the most of large cities in the developed countries. The aim of this paper is to identify the 'new urbanization' process in a large city in Korea that is, Daejon. For the propose, this paper tries to examine and conceptualize empirically the changes of economic, political, social-cultural, and spatial aspects of Daejon metropolis in the respect of 'new urbanization'. The major findings of this essay are summarized as follows. First of all, Daejon economy has experienced new changes, that is the development of service economy and high tech industry. But the old industry still remain important in the urban economy. Secondly, in the political aspect, new civil movements flourish in the city, while the political power of Jaminlyeon, a pro-conservative and narrow-regionalism party, once dominated this region, has decreased its influence. Thirdly. the original CBD of Daejon has been declined while new (sub-)CBBs have emerging in Daejon spatial structures. In conclusion, we can find some clues of the new urbanization process in Daejon, but this process is still quite slow and somewhat different from those of large cities of the developed countries.

  • Adapting the maintenance criteria of Seoul City pavement is not applicable for borough pavement due to differences between the pavement of Seoul city and the borough, such as priority of maintenance, traffic volume, thickness of pavement, and pavement deterioration rate by distresses. To develop an efficient and reasonable evaluation method of the Seocho borough pavement condition within a limited budget, this study suggested the borough pavement condition evaluation model based on the PMS (Pavement Management System) of Seoul Metropolitan SPI (Seoul Pavement Index). The SPI was modified to predict the remaining life and determine the proper maintenance method for the pavement in Seocho borough. This was suggested to reflect the rate of the designed performance life and field performance life of pavement as well as the pavement condition at the stage of the completion of construction. Primary variables, such as crack, rutting and IRI in the final model affect the overall performance life due to their even composition. Therefore, the suggested model considering the lowered criteria, design performance factor, and construction factor can be used for the more efficient maintenance of Seocho borough pavement.

  • Although various IT-based services including PMIS are used at construction field, there have been limits on communications, such as fast reaction, information loss, and information security in the real world. Therefore, this paper proposes to adapt a social network service (SNS) that has already been used for information management and sharing information at the company level in other industries in order to support construction information management and communication in a fast and accurate manner. Following the requirement analysis through literature review and site interviews, the paper presents an SNS-based construction information communication and sharing system named PMIS+. PMIS+ was tested and validated for its feasibility at construction sites and it was proved that the proposed system and information management framework using the system could be helpful for effective information management at construction fields.

  • The results indicate that direction of online reviews have a significant effect on both information reliability and product attitude. In addition, consumers' shopping experience also shows a moderating effect between the direction of online reviews and the dependent variables. Furthermore, product type also shows a moderating effect on the information reliability, yet not on the product attitude. In clarify the relationship between the satisfaction and success of smart-learning smart learning and learner analyzes the main factors that affect the learning flow results, The smart learning variety of properties, personalization, complexity affects the learning flow variety, personalization, ubiquity affects the interaction, It was analyzed by a useful impact on the learner interactivity and immersive learning outcomes.   • In this paper, Minimize driving energy for operation within a defined distance yeokgan fixed time-resolved and determine the nature of the train is traveling, and to model mathematically. Urban rail car cruise in general by the PID controller is used instead of automatically tracking a target value while traveling in energy consumption to be minimized by using optimal control model railroad charyangreul was designed under real operating conditions the same. The actual track conditions apply to the minimum value or a separate listing of cars around the track facility without a driving energy of the automatic operation and to reduce the driving energy. Therefore, actual route chosen straight line 8 / gradient segment / curve for the measured data analysis, such as sections within the city-minute drive each section and presented how the trains to save energy, depending on the pattern of the train station in the region.

Investigation of surface pressures on CAARC tall building concerning effects of turbulence

  • This paper presents an experimental investigation on the surface pressures on the CAARC standard tall building model concerning the effects of freestream turbulence. Two groups of incidence turbulence are generated in the wind tunnel experiment. The first group has an approximately constant turbulence intensity of 10.3% but different turbulence integral scale varying from 0.141 m to 0.599 m or from 0.93 to 5.88 in terms of scale ratio (turbulence integral scale to building dimension). The second group presents similar turbulence integral scale but different turbulence intensity ranging from 7.2% to 13.5%. The experimental results show that the mean pressure coefficients on about half of the axial length of the side faces near the leading edge slightly decrease as the turbulence integral scale ratio that is larger than 4.25 increases, but respond markedly to the changes in turbulence intensity. The root-mean-square (RMS) and peak pressure coefficients depend on both turbulence integral scale and intensity. The RMS pressure coefficients increase with turbulence integral scale and intensity. As the turbulence integral scale increases from 0.141 m to 0.599 m, the mean peak pressure coefficient increases by 7%, 20% and 32% at most on the windward, side faces and leeward of the building model, respectively. As the turbulence intensity increases from 7.2% to 13.5%, the mean value of peak pressure coefficient increases by 47%, 69% and 23% at most on windward, side faces and leeward, respectively. The values of cross-correlations of fluctuating pressures increase as the turbulence integral scale increases, but decrease as turbulence intensity increases in most cases.
