This formative evaluation study presents a professional development program, "Earth Science Systems for Teachers (ESST)" held in a Midwest State in the United States. This study investigates how a professional development for urban teachers affects the teacher participants' perceptions of using the urban environment for their science teaching and their lesson unit development. The purpose of the program was to help urban teachers create science units using the urban geologic environment and its connection to urban students' everyday lives. The participant teachers' daily journal entries during the program, their lesson plans before and after the program, as well as their teaching reflections were collected as major data source. The teachers' daily journal entries were analyzed qualitatively and their pre-post lessons were analyzed quantitatively using a lesson plan analysis tool, Culturally Relevant Science Teaching Perspectives (CRSTP) was developed by the author. The lesson analysis tool was used to assess teachers' science lesson plans in the perspective of culturally relevant pedagogy and place-based pedagogy. The major findings include: 1) The teacher participants' field experiences in urban geologic sites and urban environments help the teachers to change their perceptions of using the urban environment as a teaching resource and 2) there were significant differences in their pre and post lesson unit scores based on CRSTP (P<. 01). The implications of this study are also discussed.
Use of teaching pendant is the most widespread and economical way to teach desired motion to robots. It is also very primitive, time consuming and ineffective way of teaching which has not changed since the early days of robot. In order to reduce the teaching effor, a new efficient form of teaching is needed. Also, the recent robotics research trend into service robots such as home robot, nurse robot and medical robot calls for a new teaching method which is both easy and inexpensive. In this paper, the design and operation principle of a low cost force/moment sensor is presented. The proposed sensor architecture is so simple and inexpensive that it opens the prospect for a new paradigm of robot teaching which is easy and efficinet. Other prospective areas of application are tele-manipulation of robots wher it can be used in master arm, and virtual environment where it can be used as an user input device.
The purpose of this paper is to investigatethe relationship between Korean elementary teachers' teaching practice and students' perceptions of classroom learning environment. It is important to examine whether teachers conceive of mathematics and their teaching practice are consistent with their actual teaching mathematics in classroom. To do so, two reform-oriented and two traditionally-oriented elementary teachers in Seoul and a total of 130 students from these four selected teachers' classes participated in the present study Using classroom environment survey scale [CES] the differences in students' perceptions on classroom learning environment were examined. The results show that students taught by reform-oriented teachers have significantly higher score in the area of participation, relevance, and commitment to learning than traditionally-oriented group of students. Thus, we may conclude that the reform-oriented group of students have more benefits in learning mathematics than do the traditionally-oriented group of students.

Second. learner's academic factor of self-concept had an positive influence on the student's academic achievement in ICT teaching-learning environment. Third, there were differences of student's academic achievements according to the student's cognitive style in ICT teaching-learning environment.
Objective: This study aims to investigate whether science teaching attitude of early childhood teachers mediates the relationship between the professional learning environment of institutions and their intention to accept artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and whether the experience of using smart and digital devices moderates the effect of science teaching attitude. Methods: An online survey was conducted targeting 118 teachers with more than 1 year of experience in kindergarten and day care center settings. Descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and The Process macro model 4, 14 were performed using SPSS 27.0 and The Process macro 3.5. Results: First, the science teaching attitude of early childhood teachers served as a mediator between the professional learning environment of institutions and teachers' intention to accept AI technology. Second, the experience of using smart and digital devices was found to moderate the effect of teachers' science teaching attitude on their intention to accept AI technology. Conclusion/Implications: This results showed that an institutional environment that supports teachers' professionalism development and provides rich experience is crucial for promoting teachers' active acceptance of AI technology. The findings highlight the importance of creating a supportive institutional envionment for teacher's professional growth, enhancing science teaching attitudes, and facilitating the use of various devices.
The quality of environmental education in school depends on the quality of environment teacher, who develops his/her ability through avalible courses such as in-service training and communication et al. This study was performed with the questionnaire to 179 teachers who participated in certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects on winter of '95 and summer of '96. The questionnaire included 28 items, which could be categorized 5 parts : the environmental consciousness of teachers, their awareness of environmental education in schools, the reason of participation, the limits and requirements of learning field, avalible teaching and learning methods. The improvements and suggestions derived from this study are summarized as follows: First, it is necessary to differentiate in-service training concerning environment, because the motive of teacher's participation is diverse and is not always suitable to the purpose of certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects. Second, the teaching contents and programs of certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects have to be various according to the characteristics and major subjects of teachers. Third, it deserves special emphasis that the field trips and survey for the experiential study in field is supplemented in the teaching contents and programs of certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects. Also, it is necessary to strengthen the environmental ethics and philosophy in the teaching contents and programs.
Experiential education is a core curriculum of 6-year pharmacy education. Practicing pharmacists lie at the heart of experiential education serving as preceptors for undergraduate pharmacy students during experiential education. Preceptors are, however, confronted with a challenge of caring for patients and teaching students at the same time in a time-constrained environment. To improve the effectiveness and outcomes of experiential education, practicing pharmacists are required to demonstrate educational competence. Even small teaching moments can provide students with valuable learning opportunities that they could not have from on their own. Thus, it is vital to provide education and training for preceptors to advance their teaching skills. This article will describe practical and effective teaching skills that preceptors could adopt in the experiential education for pharmacy students. It is important that preceptors should use different teaching skills for different learners, according to their level of experience and knowledge, learning styles and needs, as well as the type of the practice. Therefore, possessing diverse teaching skills provides flexibility to adapt teaching to each student's learning levels and needs, and to the charateristics of the practice environment. Preceptors' level of confidence and comfort in using teaching skills can be enhanced through continuous practice and training, which consequently leads to the improved effectiveness of experiential education and student's satisfaction with the education.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the student's class satisfaction toward PE Teacher's level of teaching ability in an inclusive PE environment. The results of the study were as follows. First, there was a statistically significant positive correlation among the satisfaction of teaching behavior, PE environment, exercise ability, and PE score (P<.01). Second, there was a statistically significant difference (p<.001) between group of teacher's teaching ability and satisfaction of teaching behavior. Third, there was a statistically significant difference (p<.001) between group of teacher's teaching ability and satisfaction of PE environment. Forth, there was a statistically significant difference (p<.001) between group of teacher's teaching ability and satisfaction of exercise ability, Fifth, there was a statistically significant difference (p<.001) between group of teacher's teaching ability and satisfaction of PE score.
This study examined the interactive effects of physical environment of childcare centers and teachers' creative teaching approaches on the level of young children's creativity. To do so, the study conducted an assessment called TCAM(Thinking Creativity in Action and Movement) that was developed by Torrance to 182 young children. Also, it utilized questionnaires to ask 28 teachers concerning physical environment of childcare centers and their creative teaching approaches level. The findings of this study were: First, the gender of young children didn't affect the level of young children's creativity but the age of young children positively affected the level of their imagination that is the subordinate area of creativity. Second, the high level of physical environment of childcare centers positively affected the level of young children's creativity. Third, teachers' actively creative teaching approaches positively affected the level of young children's creativity. Forth, both physical environment of childcare centers and teachers' creative teaching approaches interactively and positively influenced the level of young children's creativity. Fifth, both physical environment of childcare centers and teachers' creative teaching approaches positively affected the level of young children's creativity. The result of this study implies that the level of young children's creativity increases when childcare centers demonstrate high quality of physical environment and teachers deliver creative teaching approaches actively.
In this study, we investigated the relationships among elementary school teachers' perceptions of constructivist science assessment, views on science teaching and learning, science teaching efficacy belief, and the perceptions of constructivist science learning environment. An exploratory factor analysis was conducted to validate the factor structure of the perceptions of constructivist science assessment test. The test consisting of 3 factors with 21 questions in the previous research was reconstructed as one consisting of 2 factors with 22 questions as a result of the factor analysis. A stepwise multiple regression analysis was also conducted to predict the explanatory powers of the variables on perceptions of constructivist science assessment. The results indicated that the perceptions of constructivist science learning environment, views on constructivist science teaching and learning, and personal science teaching efficacy belief were the significant predictors of the perceptions of constructivist science assessment.
