  • We live in a flat world in which globalization fosters communication, travel, and trade among more than 150 countries and thousands of languages. To surmount the barriers among these languages, translation is required; Speech-to-Speech translation will automate the process. Thanks to recent advances in Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Machine Translation (MT), and Text-to-Speech (TTS), one can now utilize a system to translate a speech of source language to a speech of target language and vice versa in affordable manner. The three phase process establishes that the source speech be transcribed into a (set of) text of the source language (ASR) before the source text is translated into the target text (MT). Finally, the target speech is synthesized from the target text (TTS).

VST 및 FPGA를 이용한 전자표적 생성 및 신호 모의장치 개발 (The Development of the Real Time Target Simulator for the RF Signal of Electronic Warfare using VST and FPGA)

  • In this paper, the target simulator for RF signals was developed by using VST(Vector Signal Transceiver) and set by real-time signal processing SW programs. A function to process RF signals using FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) board was designed. The system functions capable of data processing, raw signals monitoring, target signals(simulated range, velocity) generating and RF environments data analyzing were implemented. And the characteristics of modulated signal were analyzed in RF environment. All function of programs for processing RF signal have options to store signal data and to manage the data. The validity of the signal simulation was confirmed through verification of simulated signal results.

  • This paper propose a fuzzy regression method using fuzzy neural networks when a membership value is attached to each input-output pair. First, an architecture o fuzzy neural networks with fuzzy weights and fuzzy biases is shown. Next, a cost function is defined using the fuzzy output from the fuzzy neural network and the corresponding target output with a membership value. A learning algorithm is derived from the cost function. The derived learning algorithm trains the fuzzy neural network so 솜 t the level set of the fuzzy output includes the target output. Last, the proposed method is applied to the quality evaluation problem of injection molding

  • A model using a nonlinear programming technique was applied for allocating the optimal water depending on storage level changes of the Sumjin dam. The objective function of optimization model was set up to maintain the storage at target level, to satisfy the water demand, and to maximize the hydropower production. In this way, the water allocation as to target level and instream flow was optimized and compared with historical operational data.

유휴농지 농업적 활용 평가지표 설정 및 현장적용 (Establishing Evaluation Indicator for Agricultural Utilization of Idle Farmlands and Field Application)

  • Self-sufficiency rate of food in South Korea is almost at the lowest level among OECD countries, and the decrease tend of farmland is expected to be continued. In this situation, the government has been revised the target self-sufficiency rate of food, and carried forward various policies in order to achieve it. One of those policies is the restoration business of idle farmland which is planned to carry forward after 2015. This study set up indicators evaluating effective use of idle farmland, and tried to apply in the field before carrying forward restoration business. The result of this study may be summarized as follows. First of all, it reset an evaluation indicator that was based on the evaluation indicator developed in order to set application directions of idle farmland. Next, it selected 30 idle farmlands with reset evaluation indicator among 11,635 which were inspected nationwide in 2012. Before applying indicator, it measured the condition of recycling such as accessibility of farmland, condition of irrigation and drainage system, land state, and surroundings by field investigation. Then, it calculated composite score in each target area through applying indicators, and verified the indicator by comparing calculated result with the one which was decided from field investigation. Finally, it carried out field investigation, correct and upgrade some problems of the standard of score calculation that was found during applying previously set evaluation indicator to target area, and established the final standard of calculation for evaluation indicator.

광물자원탐사 자료에 대한 데이터 통합과 그 응용사례 (Data Fusion of Mineral Exploration Data Sets and Its Application Using Fuzzy Set Theory)

  • 금소광산은 지질학적 특성에 따라 여러 다양한 유형으로 형성되며, 특정원소나 특정광물종이 농집된다. 그러므로 광물자원탐사는 지질자료와 함께 많은 지구화학적 및 지구물리자료를 종합하여 분석처리 할 필요가 있다. 최근 지구과학정보시스템(GIS)이라는 개념이 도입됨에 따라, 도입됨에 따라 다양한 지질자료를 보다 체계적으로 처리할수 있게 되었고 효율적인 광물자원탐사가 가능하게 되었다. 본 연구대상지역 (37:00N/28:30E∼37:20N/128:45E0은 국내의 대표적인 광대화로 알려진 태백산 지역으로 영남육괴의 변성암을 기반으로 하여, 조선계의 퇴적암과 중생대의 화강암으로 구성되어있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 지질자료와 함께 기보고된 지구화학 및 지구물리 탐사자료들을 디지털화하고 이를 퍼지집합이론에 적용하여 데이터통합을 시도하였다. 본 연구의 결과초써 나타난 스카른 부존가능지역이 기존의 스카론 철광산으로 알려진 신예미 광산 위치와 잘 일치하고 있으며, 이는 본 연구에서 데이터 통합에 사용된 퍼지집합이론이 태백산 지역이 스카른 광상탐사에 효과적이었음을 시사한다.

도시생태네트워크 측면에서의 옥상녹화입지를 위한 목표종 선정에 관한 연구 (A Study of Selecting Target Species for Rooftop Greening Construction from Urban Ecological Network Point of View)

  • Ecological network can solve the ecological problems such as habitat cutting and fragmentation that are resulted from urbanization. Recently, rooftop biotope construction has been appeared as a usefull method for ecological networking in urban area. The objective of this study is to seek the possibility of rooftop greening introduction as well as to select target species for rooftop greening construction from the urban ecological network point of view. In order to select target species, we monitored two adjacent rooftop greening sites, where we found 22 species of birds and insects and 33 species of plants. We set criteria to select target species through documents research, and gave marks species according to the criteria with the help of specialists. We divided the target species into 5 groups on the basis of the 12 selecting criteria. In those two monitored rooftop greening sites, we did not find any species belong to group A, which is the best target species, but we found species belong to the other groups. Orthetrum albistylum, Sympetrum dawinianum belong to group B, which is the priority target species, 7 species besides Passer montanus, Coccinella axyridis, Agrionidae to group C, which is the possible target species, 6 species besides Atractomorpha lata to group D, which is the potential target species, and the others were found to be inadequate to the target species. We found Orthetrum albistylum, Sympetrum dawi-nianum to be the best appropriate target species in the two sites. According to the result of this study, the method of ecological network construction from the dra-gonfly habitat network point of view through the construction of rooftop habitat is ideal for Orthetrum albistylum, and Sympetrum dawinianum. For successful urban ecological network construction, selection criteria and construction techniqes & methods for rooftop habitat should be developed through future research.

VRS RTK를 이용한 원거리 표적좌표획득의 정확도 향상에 대한 연구 (Study for Improving Target Coordinate Acquisition Accuracy from Long Distance by VRS RTK)

  • Accurate target coordinate is very important in military operations especially field artillery's ground-to-ground attack and air-force's air-to-ground attack. DOS(or TAS) is used to acquire target coordinates from long distance. DOS is comprised of LRF and goniometer. LRF measures distance between DOS and target. Goniometer is comprised of azimuth and vertical angular sensors, DMC and internal GPS receiver. DOS must set the position and orientation(finding grid north) before measurement step(target coordinate acquisition). To improve accuracy of target coordinate, VRS RTK and reference point method are proposed in DOS setup step. VRS RTK provides accurate location coordinate with small deviations, providing high accuracy and precision in positioning and orientation. As a result, horizontal coordinate(easting and northing) accuracy is improved from 2.68 mil(C.L. = 0.95) mil to 0.58 mil(C.L. = 0.95).

산란점 정보를 이용한 표적 SAR 영상 간 유사도 평가기법 (Method for Similarity Assessment Between Target SAR Images Using Scattering Center Information)

  • One of the key factors for recognition performance in the automatic target recognition for synthetic aperture radar imagery(SAR-ATR) system is reliability of the SAR target database. To achieve optimal performance, the database should be constructed using the images obtained under the same operating condition as the SAR sensor. However, it is impractical to have the extensive set of real-world SAR images, and thus those from the electro magnetic prediction tool with 3-D CAD models are suggested as an alternative where their reliability can be always questionable. In this paper, a method for similarity assessment between target SAR images is presented inspired by the fact that a target SAR image is mainly characterized by the features of scattering centers. The method is demonstrated using a variety of examples and quantitatively measures the similarity related to reliability. Its assessment performance is further compared with that of the existing metric, structural similarity(SSIM).
