  • As a public institution, it is the duty and responsibility of a library to provide readers with information about books. To provide such information to readers, a librarian should have the ability to provide satisfactory consultation and advice. As interest in picture books grows, there is an increasing need for libraries and librarians to produce and release picture book reviews on a regular basis to inform readers of what makes a good picture book, and which among similar books should they choose. Other than summarizing the content of a picture book, a good picture book review should also provide additional information that will help readers understand the reviewed book such as the literary symbolism of a book's visual texts. To this end, a librarian is required to develop visual literacy, which would enable him/her to read into the deeper meaning of the images imbued with the writer's ideas and philosophy. In light of the above discussion, this study compares and analyzes two picture book versions of the story Little Red Riding Hood, with the purpose of helping librarians understand the visual texts that they need to refer to when writing picture book reviews.

  • Magnetic hyperthermia mediated by superparamagnetic particles is mainly based in sinusoidal waveforms as excitation signals. Temperature changes are conventionally explained by rotation of the particles in the surrounding medium. This is a hypothesis quite questionable since habitual experimental setups only produce changes in the magnetic module, not in the field lines trajectories. Theoretical results were tested by changing the waveform of the exciting signal in order to compare non-sinusoidal signals against sinusoidal signals. Experiments were done at different frequencies: 200 KHz, 400 KHz, 600 KHz, 800 KHz and 1 MHz. Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide samples (SPION), made of magnetite ($Fe_3O_4$) and suspended in water (100 mg/ml), were used. Magnetic field strength varies from $0.1{\pm}0.015KA/m$ to $0.6{\pm}0.015KA/m$. In this study was observed that the power loss depends on the applied frequency: for 1 to 2.5 RMS current the responses for each signal are part of the higher section of the exponential function, and for 3.5 to 8 RMS current the response is clearly the decrement exponential function's tale (under $1{\times}10^3LER/gr$).

  • Recently, interests on e-book (electronic-book) have been increasing since e-book can provide many benefits than traditional books can do. Especially, e-book can be attractive for elementary school students due to its interaction provided by various multimedia tools. However, despite the fact that the numbers of elementary school students using e-book have been increasing, researches on e-book have not made a significant progress. Also since most researches on e-book have been concentrating on fairy tale books without considering interaction, the true virtue of e-book has not been maximized. Taking this into account, this study is intended to suggest an e-book design model for elementary school students with interaction among learners reinforced. In this study, first, existing e-book design models are analyzed in terms of interaction. Based on this analysis, an e-book design model is designed and developed. The proposed model can help learners interact within their learning levels, support with many functions such as interchangeable help function, various search instruments, previews, messenger functions, and provide a book-like environment where learners themselves can take initiative in learning.

  • The middle point of composition within the system $MgO-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ has been studied for applicability as ceramics dielectrics. A Kyul Sung Tale of high purity, magnesia clinker of Sam-wha chemical company, C.P. aluminium oxide, calcium carbonate, red lead, barium carbonate which was made into frit were used the raw materials. A number of steatite ceramics were prepared under carefully controlled condition and the water absorption, linear shrinkage, power factor, dielectric constant and dielectric loss were measured at elevated temperature. When we used magnesia clinker as flux, the quantity of this flux was 0.05mole, sintering temperature was continued for 2 hrs. at 1, 27$0^{\circ}C$. From this conditions, we could get the data whose power factor was 0.142%, water absorption was zero, linear shrinkage was 8.76%, dielectric constant was 5.63, dielectric loss was 0.00799. When we used red lead as flux, the quantity of this flux was 0.033mole and 0.066mole, sintering temperature was continued for 2hrs. at 1, 26$0^{\circ}C$. From this conditions, we could get the data whose water absorption was zero, linear shrinkage was 8.03%, and 8.48%, power factor was 0.136% and 0.062%, dielectric loss was 0.0072 and 0.0037. When we used barium carbonate made into frit as flux, the quantity of this flux was 0.02mole, sintering temperature was continued for 2hrs. at 1, 27$0^{\circ}C$. From this conditions, we could get the data whose water absoption was zero, linear shrinkage was 8.44%, power factor was 0.138%, dielectric constant was 5.69, dielectric loss was 0.0074.

  • 'Heongbu and Nolbu 1' is a series of the on-line game 'Tales Runner.' It is based on a traditional Korean fairy tale. However, the game characters in Heongbu and Nolbu 1 wear casual clothes even though the game is set in the Joseon Dynasty. Therefore, this paper presents proposed game characters clothes based on traditional Korean costumes from the Joseon Dynasty. This work should help inspire gamers and game designers with the beauty of Korean traditional costumes and familiarize them with an aspect of Korean people's identity. A literature review of online games and game characters was carried out, and game characters' clothes were analyzed. The design motifs of historical relics of the Joseon era were evaluated. Three styles, one traditional and two "fusion" styles integrating traditional and modern elements were proposed for each of the 4 characters: Chowon, Ruff, Bada and Abell. The chulrik and jurip were used as design motifs for Chowon. A traditional chulrik, short chulriks and pants are suggested. Second, the dongari and jeonrip were used as design motifs for Ruff. A traditional dongdari, sapok pants, deck pants and a vest are suggested. Third, the jeogori and chima were used as design motifs for Bada. A traditional female hanbok, arm warmers, short-sleeved jeogori and dress are suggested. Fourth, the dang-ui and daeran-chima were used as design motifs for Abell. A traditional dang-ui and daeran-chima, blouse, skirt, jumper and tight Bermuda shorts are suggested. The length, shape and color were converted into new styles, but some traditional elements such as the git and goreum were retained.

  • The digital contents industry already heads toward the OSMU(One Source Multi Use) method of media. In case the success of the original novel recreates to a movie, the success of a movie is again noticed with the original novel. For this reason, a novel and movie are open at the same time, In this paper, we analyze through the case study of three fantasy films having the narrative structure of the germane myth : The Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, The Chronicles Of Narnia based on the analysis basis : Hero's Journey 12 steps by J. Campbell, The analysis of scenes of each film visualizing the narrative structure of a novel can be used as the basic materials in the process of visualizing the scale of the original and message of a writer, we consequently believe that these analysis will be able to be applied the appropriate visual techniques (the special effect, the scene tractions, and etc.)in visualization of films.

  • In the new media age, the importance of personal style is highlighted, as the fashion recipients independently create their own images by transforming and recombining the fashion information gathered from the fashion blogs - the most representative form of social networks. The study aims to identify the types and styles of imaginary ego-images represented on the personal fashion blogs as a new space of self-expression, based on Lacan's gaze; the imaginary of the unconscious world and the ego-concept. According to literature search, the imaginary ego-image is classified as narcissism, regression, identification, and virtuality. In the case study, Narcissism is represented mostly as bloggers' satisfaction and beliefs about their fashion styles. The degeneration represents childhood images including a mother, as well as retro and vintage images that recreate the fashions of bygone eras - such as medieval, $19^{th}$ or 20th century fashion. Identification is the connection with the various areas of culture and art, especially movies and music. Virtuality represents hypothetical situations of mythical, fairy tale-like, surreal, or dreamlike atmospheres and hypothetical bodies that appear removed, disassembled, or crooked. The imaginary ego-images emerged on the personal fashion blogs are also classified into specific style depending on the attributes of the ego images-such as kidult style, retro style, ethnic style, and surreal style.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify how tales are accepted and embodied as a new work in dance as performing arts, which are getting attention for its rapid growth in the area of cultural industries. Major performances of recently created and performed ancient tales including Baridaegi, Chun-Hyang story, Yeonohrangseohnye are analyzed here. With acceptance of tales into dance, vitality of creation by the eternal word of mouth, rich information contained in each tale and the variety of interpretation showed the possibility of a new interpretation based on the existing perspectives. There are three kinds of acceptances: diversification of narrative techniques of the subject, adoption of the issue of moral values as a topic, and acceptance of tradition and national consciousness. To satisfy the fundamental concern about the universe and human, and to create both worldwide and Korean dance contents, the images of tales are being reinterpreted into a new dimension beyond the boundary of time.

  • Animation becomes combination of narrative together visual(image) and hearing(sound) information rather than transmits only visual information. The image and sound of such animation are adjusted and controlled in the structure of narrative, and com to receive a meaning by its context. Even if animation begun by equal motive, the meaning which is different in each other with a director is generated. Although Snow White of the Walt Disney Co. and Fleischer's studio was manufactured by motive in fairy tale Snow White, it can look for a large difference in semantic generation of narrative. While Disney's Snow White re-interpreted the original meaning for a director's view of the world and re-made it by animation, Snow White of Fleischer constitutes a work from a meaning of the Snow White original newly completely, is not only weakening the union power of narrative, and but also reflecting the situation at that time.
