  • ${\kappa}-Carrageenan$, an anionic polysaccharide, was employed in tablet formulations and its function as a drug release sustaining agent was investigated. Tablets composed of ${\kappa}-carrageenan$ and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose were fabricated by using direct compression method. Lactose and sodium alginate were utilized as controls for ${\kappa}-carrageenan$. Drug release experiments performed at pHs 1.2 and 7.4 revealed that ${\kappa}-carrageenan$ retains pH-dependent sustained release effects due to its anionic characteristics. Also, the ionic interaction between ${\kappa}-carrageenan$ and drugs exerted significant affects on drug release kinetics. ${\kappa}-Carrageenan$ was found out to be a useful additive for sustained release tablet formulations.

  • Modern technology offers many ways to enhance teaching and learning that in turn promote the development of tools for educational activities both inside and outside the classroom. Many educational programs using the augmented reality (AR) technology are being widely used to provide supplementary learning materials for students. This paper describes the potential and challenges of using GeoGebra AR in mathematical studies, whereby students can view 3D geometric objects for a better understanding of their structure, and verifies the feasibility of its use based on experimental results. The GeoGebra software can be used to draw geometric objects, and 3D geometric objects can be viewed using AR software or AR applications on mobile phones or computer tablets. These could provide some of the required materials for mathematical education at high schools or universities. The use of the GeoGebra application for education in Laos will be particularly discussed in this paper.

  • To improve the compliance of oral administration of drugs in cancer patients, who are unable to swallow tablets, FDT containing ondansetron HCI($Onseran^{TM}$) was developed with a low-cost manufacturing process. $Onseran^{TM}$ was prepared from ondansetron. mannitol, crospovidone. and others with a direct compression method. The disintegration time and dissolution rate of $Onseran^{TM}$ were assessed according to the USP method. The results were compared with those of the reference drug ($Zofran^{TM}$). (omitted)

  • Near-infrared (NIR) system was used to determine rapidly and simply indomethacin in buffer solution for a dissolution test for tablets and capsules. Indomethacin standards were prepared ranging from 10 to 50ppm using mixture of phosphate buffer(pH 7,2) and water(1:4), The near infrared(NIR) transmittance spectra of indomethacin standard solutions were collected by using a quartz cell in 1 mm and 2mm pathlength, Partial least-square regression (PLSR) was explored to develop calibration models over the spectral range 1100-1700nm. • The purposes of this study were to evaluate bioequivalence (BE) using In-transformed pharmacokinetic parameters obtained from two tiropramide HCI products and to develop the analytical methods for the quantitative determination of tiropramide in human serum. In addition. the in vitro dissolution profiles of the two tiropramide HCI products in various dissolution media: pH 1.2, 4.0. 6.8 and water (KP Ⅶ Apparatus II method) were assessed. BE was evaluated in 20 healthy male Korean volunteers in randomized crossover study. (omitted)

  • ABSTRACT-The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two enalapril maleate tablest, $Renitec^{TM}$(MSD Korea Ltd.) and $Enalace^{TM}$(Welfide Korea Ltd.), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (DFDA). Twenty-four normal male volunteers, 22.33 ${\pm}$ 2.55 year in age and 66.54 ${\pm}$ 8.30 kg in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized 2${\times}$2 cross-over study was employed. After two tablets containing 10 mg of enalapril maleate per tablet were orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and concentrations of enalapril in plasma were determined using LC-MS-MS. • It is challenging to select appropriate technology in education to interact with students in today's digital world. Especially when the technologies used at home on smart devices like tablets and mobile phones are very advanced, on the other side, it may be more challenging to find sharing technology in the classroom. One of the ways is to use new technologies like Augmented Reality (AR). The current study aims to develop usability principles for the development and evaluation of education using AR technology applications. We develop usability principles for AR applications by analyzing existing research about heuristic evaluation methods, design principles for AR systems.

  • Recent studies have focused on self-management of hypertension using smart devices (cellular phones, tablets, watches). It has proven to be an effective tool for early detection and control of high Blood Pressure (BP) without affecting patients' daily routines. This systematic review surveys the existing self-monitoring systems, evaluate their effectiveness and compares the different approaches. We investigated the current systems in terms of various attributes, including methods used, sample size, type of investigation, inputs/ outputs, rate of success in controlling BP, group of users with higher response rate and beneficiaries, acceptability, and adherence to the system. We identified some limitations, shortcomings, and gaps in the research conducted recently studying the impact of mobile technology on managing hypertension. These shortcomings can generate future research opportunities and enable it to become more realistic and adaptive. We recommended including more observable factors and human behaviors that affect BP. Furthermore, we suggested that vital monitoring/logging and medication tuning are insufficient to improve hypertension control. There is also a need to observe and alter patient behavior and lifestyles.

  • The new age is characterised by information communication technology, where computers, laptops, mobile gadgets such as palmtops, tablets, mobile phones and the internet have made their way to every sphere of life from our domestic environments such a homes, small retail shops, banks to large industries and the world at large. Over time, so many questions about the ethical use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) have emerged on who has access to what technology and the use of it and like every other technological invention. This paper will look at the morality involved in making use of ICT to promote ethical use of data or information in a virtual environment. ICT also possesses both positive and negative impacts; the questions that these impacts raise are what this piece attempts to answer, providing global scrutiny to these ethical issues, situations and questions; and providing recommendations in line with global best practices.

  • Herein, we present a simple, precise, accurate, and ultra-sensitive spectrofluorimetric method for estimation of clozapine (CLZ) in tablets and human plasma was developed and then validated. A highly fluorescent brown-yellowish fluorophore was formed (λex=469 nm, λemi=540 nm) as a nucleophilic substitution reaction occurred between CLZ and 4-chloro-7-nitro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole (NBD-Cl) in alkaline mcllavine buffer (pH 9.0). Optimum values of experimental parameters were carefully determined and optimized. The calibration curve was rectilinear over the concentration range of 80-900 ng mL-1 with a linear correlation coefficient (r=0.9984). The LOD and LOQ were determined to be 14 ng mL-1 and 42 ng mL-1, respectively. The proposed approach has been used successfully to quantification of Clozapine in its commercial formulations and human plasma.
