  • In this paper, we propose a new preamble structure for channel estimation in a MIMO OFDM-based WLAN System. Moreover, both the backward compatibility with IEEE 802.11a system and low overhead are considered for the preamble design. Simulation results show that the proposed preamble has low overhead and is obtained the good performance gain for channel estimation.

  • This paper presents a stability estimation method for subspan oscillation on overhead transmission line. It has been used method by conductor's fatigue limit or subspan oscillation amplitude. But it is not proper to estimation of subspan oscillation. We suggest to instability index for estimation method of subspan oscillation. And we tried to 4 bundled conductor system. This result will use to establish of the subspan location rules.

  • The DC overhead line voltage of an electric railway substation swings depending on the accelerating and regenerative-braking energy of trains, and it deteriorates the energy quality of the electric facility in the DC railway substation and restricts the powering and braking performance of subway trains. Recently, an energy storage system or a regenerative inverter has been introduced into railway traction substations to diminish both the variance of the overhead line voltage and the peak power consumption. In this study, the variance of the overhead line voltage in a DC railway substation is modelled by RC parallel circuits in each feeder, and the RC parameters are estimated using the recursive least mean square (RLMS) scheme. The forgetting factor values for the RLMS are selected using simulated annealing optimization, and the modelling scheme of the overhead line voltage variation is evaluated through raw data measured in a downtown railway substation.

  • A search algorithm for the collision free, time optimal transport path of overhead cranes has been proposed in this paper. The map for the working environment of overhead cranes was constructed in the form of three dimensional grid. The obstacle occupied region and unoccupied region of the map has been represented using the octree model. The best-first search method with a suitable estimation function was applied to select the knot points on the collision free transport path to the octree model. The optimization technique, minimizing the travel time required for transporting objects to the goal while subjected to the dynamic constraints of the crane system, was developed to find the smooth time optimal path in the form of cubic spline functions which interpolate the selected knot points. Several simulation results showed that the selected estimation function worked effectively insearching the knot points on the collision free transport path and that the resulting transport path was time optimal path while satisfying the dynamic constraints of the crane system.

  • Overhead line voltage of DC railway traction substations has rising or falling characteristics depending on the acceleration and regenerative braking of the subway train loads. The suppression of this irregular fluctuation of the line voltage gives rise to improved energy efficiency of both the railway substation and the trains. This paper presents parameter estimation schemes using the RC circuit model for an overhead line voltage at a 1500V DC electric railway traction substation. A linear artificial neural network with a back-propagation learning algorithm was trained using the measurement data for an overhead line voltage and four feeder currents. The least square estimation method was configured to implement batch processing of these measurement data. These estimation results have been presented and performance analysis has been achieved through raw data simulation.

  • As environmental regulations on carbon emissions are strengthened worldwide, the existing internal combustion engine-centered automobile industry is being reformed. In particular, large buses and large cargo trucks are pointed out as one of the main causes of environmental destruction due to excessive carbon emissions. The E-Highway power collection system, which has recently been proposed as a solution, uses the vehicle's battery as a backup power source or regenerative braking, depending on whether the pan head of the pentograph installed in the vehicle is in contact with the overhead line. It is used to store the excess energy generated. However, wear through contact due to continuous contact reduces the current collection effect and causes failure. In this paper, by using the current difference, the horizontal position information of the panhead in contact with the overhead line is acquired, thereby reducing the abrasion of the conductor and the panhead Make it possible to follow the overhead line. The position estimation method proposed in this paper simply configures a device that can detect the position of the overhead line of the pantograph by the difference in resistance. It is economical and has the advantage of reducing the volume. The characteristics of the pantograph estimating the location of overhead lines were analyzed using the difference between the two currents of the current collector, the feasibility of the positioning estimation system was verified through simulations and experiments.

  • When we have been estimated construction costs, till now, we are used to costs accumulating method of each items based on standard labors rates. But there are some problems of its methods. Our governments are applied to a historical construction costs estimation system fur building construction and civil engineering works from January 2004. The electrical construction works are forecasted that applied to historical construction cost estimation systems. This paper is supposed to reasonable estimation methods of overhead costs and profits.

  • Presented in this paper is the development of an product cost estimation system at the product design stage. The efficient cost estimation function at the design stage is essential for the cost reduction activities through the entire product life cycle. For this purpose, it is necessary to establish a systematic working procedure, and to develop information system for managing a great deal of production and product-related data required for the cost estimation. The developed system has the capability of estimating a cost of assembly type products as well as unit-item type products. As proposed system is based on the variant approach, it can be used easily at an early design stage without the need for detail design information. Also, this system is integrated with legacy PDM (Product Data Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system for fast. accurate and easy product cost estimation. The estimated cost includes material cost, overhead cost as well as labor cost.

  • To reduce the feedback overhead of predicted CSI (channel status information) of adaptive OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing), we use partial data of CSI and employ linear interpolation. Simulation results show estimated CSI and its MSE.

An Improved Method for Fault Location based on Traveling Wave and Wavelet Transform in Overhead Transmission Lines

  • An improved method for detecting fault distance in overhead transmission lines is described in this paper. Based on single-ended measurement, propagation theory of traveling waves together with the wavelet transform technique is used. In estimating fault location, a simple, but fundamental method using the time difference between the two consecutive peaks of transient signals is considered; however, a new method to enhance measurement sensitivity and its accuracy is sought. The algorithm is developed based on the lattice diagram for traveling waves. Representing both the ground mode and alpha mode of traveling waves, in a lattice diagram, several relationships to enhance recognition rate or estimation accuracy for fault location can be found. For various cases with fault types, fault locations, and fault inception angles, fault resistances are examined using the proposed algorithm on a typical transmission line configuration. As a result, it is shown that the proposed system can be used effectively to detect fault distance.
