  • In spreading an internet service and developing a network technology, The interest of study about the remote control system using web environment increased. In treatise, We describe a design and an implementation of the gateway system that is based 3-tier model using corba in middleware. This system is applicatble various system environment because of using middleware and overcome a time limit and range limit because of using web browser interface.

A Multithreaded Implementation of HEVC Intra Prediction Algorithm for a Photovoltaic Monitoring System

  • Recently, many photovoltaic systems (PV systems) including solar parks and PV farms have been built to prepare for the post fossil fuel era. To investigate the degradation process of the PV systems and thus, efficiently operate PV systems, there is a need to visually monitor PV systems in the range of infrared ray through the Internet. For efficient visual monitoring, this paper explores a multithreaded implementation of a recently developed HEVC standard whose compression efficiency is almost two times higher than H.264. For an efficient parallel implementation under a meshbased 64 multicore system, this work takes into account various design choices which can solve potential problems of a two-dimensional interconnects-based 64 multicore system. These problems may have not occurred in a small-scale multicore system based on a simple bus network. Through extensive evaluation, this paper shows that, for an efficient multithreaded implementation of HEVC intra prediction in a mesh-based multicore system, much effort needs to be made to optimize communications among processing cores. Thus, this work provides three design choices regarding communications, i.e., main thread core location, cache home policy, and maximum coding unit size. These design choices are shown to improve the overall parallel performance of the HEVC intra prediction algorithm by up to 42%, achieving a 7 times higher speed-up.

  • This paper describes the development of the 3DDAC mk.4 system, which is a brand new implementation on the research program. The 3DDAC is a fatigue-less stereoscopic display system that is provided with a compensating function of accommodation for binocular disparity 3D image representation. The mk.4 system also features a light-weight HMD style.

  • Intranet emerges as a key technology for building enterprise information system. This paper proposes a scenario-based object- oriented technique for designing intranet hypermedia information systems. The method consists of six phases such as domain analysis, object modeling, view design, navigational design, implementation design and construction. Users requirements are analyzed in the form of scenarios by the use fo a responsibility-driven object technology. Object-oriented views are generated from the resulting object model and then used for the subsequent navigational and implementation design. Implementation design phase deals integrating enterprise databases with distributed hypermedia systems by employing Java language. To demonstrate its usefulness, a real-life bank case is illustrated.

  • This paper was concerned about design and implementation of supply chain management for auto-part company by adopting a UML(Unified Modeling Language). The part of SCM and e-business have interested by larger company, researcher and academic professor. There has been known about a little implementing SCM and it's initiatives for SME(small-medium sized enterprise). We, in this paper, dealt with design and implementing the SCM on supply chain auto part SMEs. The UML is a standard language for specifying, visualizing, constructing, and documenting the artifacts of software systems. It simplifies the complex process of software design, making a blueprint for the SCM implementation. In this paper, we also adopt some methods for the systematic system analysis, design, and implementation by applying UML to a SCM system.

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of a wireless home network system using Home Network Control Protocol (HNCP) called the wireless HNCP home network system. For wireless interfaces of HNCP, IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.15.4 standard protocols are considered. With the implementation of the wireless HNCP home network system, a simple analysis about coexistence between IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.15.4 is achieved. Through the implemented wireless HNCP home network system and the analytical results about the coexistence between both two different wireless protocols, the feasibility of the wireless HNCP home network system is shown.

  • BACnet is an international standard communication protocol especially designed for building automation and control systems. BACnet uses the Master-Slave/Token-Passing (MS/TP) protocol as one of its field-level networks. A BACnet MS/TP field controller prototype and MS/TP network monitoring system are developed in this study. This report introduces the design and implementation methodology of a BACnet MS/TP field controller hardware, firmware and protocol stack. This report also presents the implementation methodology of BACnet MS/TP network monitoring system using VTS (Visual Test Shell). The methodologies introduced in this report will facilitate the develop and implementation of the BACnet-based control systems in building automation area.

  • Recently, object-oriented techniques have been used more and more for developments of an information system. But, established object-oriented methodologies are hard to express a business process of various abstract degrees in the analysis level and independent components of the system. They have difficulties in developing a large-scale information system of manufacturing industry such as PDM and CIM. This paper proposes an information system development methodology that imports the object-oriented IDEF0 (OOIDEF0) function model in analysis level. This methodology is made up of requirements gathering, system analysis, system design, and implementation. In requirements gathering level, organization diagram and interview technique are used for input data of OOIDEF0 function model. The OOIDEF0 function model, the interface model and function descriptions are made out in analysis level. Information objects and implementation objects are designed on the basis of the OOIDEF0 function model in design level. The database is built and programming is accomplished in implementation level. In order to prove the consistency and efficiency of the proposed methodology, the PDM system for ship production is modeled and prototyped.

  • We describes functions, design, and implementation of Awarematics/WMSServer in this paper. Awarematics/WMSServer is a open-source web map service server developed Kunsan National University and National Information Agency(NIA). Recently in GIS areas, It tends to increase System Construction which developed by using Open-source GIS, but we have not developed yet ourself-made Open-source GIS Engine in Korea. This paper describes function, design, and implementation of Awarematics/WMSServer serviced and developed by NIA and Kunsan Natioanl University.

  • Recently, the interest on object oriented design patterns has been increased considering to reusability of software and efficiency of maintenance expense in designing software architecture. In this paper, we design the paper submission management system applicable to specific domain using domain object interface based on object oriented design patterns, and then implement it with Java and XML. The proposed system applies method of implementation by assemblying each system objects with upward after system entire architecture design by combining properly downward method and upward method and applies with GoF Design pattern. As well as, we convert domain data of system into the form of various persistent objects through XML, and minimize the complexity of system by not adopting method that generates domain object as in Class with automatic. Finally, the implementation of our system can be used in general C/S environment, but we implement system user GUI using the XSLT built in general web browser in consideration for user convenience and consistency.
