  • It is different from the DongEuiBoGam(東醫寶鑑) of Korea traditional medicine that China BeunJungLonChi(中醫辨證論治) was made for the scientific and systematic assortment of China medicine. Symptom(症)is more important than symptom complex(證)in china BeunJungLonChi at DonEuBoGam. And unusual symptoms generally are diseases in DongEuiBoGam. DongEuiBoGam is emphasis on body form, temper, body color, pulse(形氣色脈) and the functional difference of organs by body form and body color. there are many problems in order to unify the theory of Korea traditional medicine by china BeunJungLonChi. I suggest that a new assortment that can combine Sasang constitutional medicine(四象醫學), Constitution-Acupuncture(體質針), and Hyungsang medicine(四象醫學) will be necessary. BeunJungLonChi : diagnosis and treatment based on overall analysis of symptoms and signs, the cause, nature and location of the illness and the patient's physical condition according to the basic theories of traditional Chinese medicine

  • A 16-year-old female Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) infected with Paragonimus kellicotti was described. Noticeable clinical symptom was not observed before death. At autopsy, numerous cysts were found on the pleural surface of the lung. The cysts were spherical, approximately 1.0 cm in diameter, bulge the pleura, and dark red-brown in color. Such cysts were also found in the deeper lung parenchyma, and usually contained adult flukes in pairs. Histopathologically, the cyst was lined with stratified squamous epithelium which arose from metaplasia of bronchial epithelium. Partial hyperplasia and necrotic foci accompanied with inflammatory cells were often observed in the squamous epithelium. The outer part of the cyst was consisted of fibrous connective tissue in which leukocytes were infiltrated. Catarrhal pneumonia was manifested in the adjacent lung tissues.

  • Pleistophora disease is well known as microsporidiosis at eel cultural farms in Korea in recent years. Major objects of this study were to undertake the induction of Pleistophora infection experimentally and to carry out histopathological investigation from December 1984 to June 1986. Experimental infection of Pleistophora spores into young eels was carried out by oral and immersed administration. Both methods induced the same symptom successfully as that in naturally occurring diseased fish. Remarkable whitish lesions developed mainly on the body surface around the abdomen when orally administrated. On the other hand, they were scattered over the whole body when administrated through immersion. Histopathological investigation revealed that some cysts in the muscle were observed 21 days after administration. Spores were developed within the cyst. Each sporont has undergone several nuclear divisions to form a pair of multinucleate cells (Sporoblasts) enclosed within a common coat (Pansporoblast). All stages were surrounded by cyst. The cysts were destroyed and mature spores were scattered in the muscle.

  • In Jang-Sang theory, ‘Sang’ indicates ‘Hyung Sang’. The internal organs appear it's shapes(Hyung Sang) outward. ‘Hyung Sang’ is concept that was used on 「the book of changes」(周易) and 「Nei Ching」(內經) to means a thing's shapes and conditions. ‘Hyung’ is the shape, an organization composing a thing and ‘Sang’ is the symptom, an essence(a seed) immanenting a thing. To observe Hyung Sang, it have to apply the principle that ‘the sky and man correspond each other(天人相應)’. Usually ‘Hyung’ appears as shapes and ‘Sang’ appears as colors and conditions. Diagnosis on the basis of Hyung Sang put first the external expression of the five Jang six Bu organs and Jung-Ki-Shin-Hyul(精氣神血). So a doctor has to unite shapes, colors, pulse and symptoms(形, 色, 脈, 症) when diagnosis a patient. The theory of Hyung Sang includes the basic theories of the oriental medicine, the theory for Yin-Yang and the five element(陰陽五行論), organ picture(Jang-Sang), meridians(經絡學說), the five circuit phases and the six atmospheric influences(運氣學說), physical constitution(體質學說). I think that treatment based on Hyung Sang is shown the essence of the oriental medicine well. In the future, I think, we need to study more about the theory of Hyung Sang.

  • Objectives This study aims to investigate how the Korean disease-related vocabulary is established or changed when it is translated into French or English. Through this, we examine changes in the meaning of diseases and the ecosystem of disease-related vocabulary in transition period of $19^{th}$ to $20^{th}$ century. Methods Korean disease-related vocabulary are extracted from a total of 148,000 Korean headwords included in our corpus of three bilingual dictionaries. Among them, the scope of analyisis is limited to group of vocabularies that include a high frequency words, disease(病) and symptom(症). Results The first type of change is the emergence of a neologism. In this case, coexistence of existing vocabulary and new words is observed. The second change is the appearance of loan words written in Hangul. The third is the case where the interpretation of meaning is changed while maintaining the word form. Finally, the fourth change is that the orthographic variants are displayed while maintaining the meaning of the existing vocabulary. Discussion Disease-related vocabulary increased greatly between 1897 and 1931. The increasing factor of vocabulary was the emergence of coined words, compound words and the influx of foreign words. The Korean language and the Western language made a new lexical form in order to introduce a new unknown concept to the Korean. We could also confirm that the way in which English word expanded its semantic field by modifying the way of representing the meaning of Korean Disease-related vocabulary.
