The purpose of this study was to examine the uniform image of Korean herbal cosmetic brands amongst Korean and Chinese consumers. This study would enable us to explore a BI strategy to enhance international competitiveness of Korean herbal cosmetics brands. The results were as follows. The key words of BI pursued by Sulwhasoo were dignified, novel, graceful, soft, gaily, natural, Korean, modern, and international. Korean people felt that the uniform was graceful and soft, which accorded with Sulwhasoo BI, but also it was trite and dingy, indicating a negative and opposing image. On the other hand, Chinese people felt that the uniform was dignified, novel, graceful, natural, modern, and international, indicating that it matched with Sulwhasoo BI. In The History of Whoo, the key words of BI pursued by the brand were precious, soft, gorgeous, gaily, and natural. The Koreans felt that the uniform was intelligent, and decent, but conversely, it was also austere and dingy, indicating a negative image. The Chinese felt that the uniform was common, hard, austere, dingy, and unnatural, indicating an opposing image to BI. Finally, a uniform design was developed to improve on its problems, establish The History of Whoo's brand identity, and its brand image. First of all, 'The Quintessence : noble passion' was set up as a developmental concept. The textiles, clothing, and accessories were designed using the symbolic elements from The History of Whoo as a motif. Uniforms were developed for spring, fall, and summer.

다양한 문화와 문명 속에서 예술가들은 새로운 무언가를 창작하기 보다는 고전의 아름다움을 재해석하고 현대에 맞게 정의 하는 새로운 발상을 시도하고 있다. 즉, 현대의 문화 트렌드는 넘쳐나는 많은 정보들 속에서 고전의 감성과 예술가의 현대적 감각이 합쳐지는 새로운 문화가 수행되고 있는 시점이다. 본 연구는 이러한 문화의 변화에 맞춰 다양한 문화와 디자인의 결합을 시도하고자한다. 소설 이효석의 메밀꽃 필 무렵에 나타난 개인의 심리적 정서, 불가능한 체험의 세계를 표현한 특징을 바탕으로 현실과 상상 속 이분화 된 세계의 경계 부분인 불완전한 의식 영역은 사고와 잠재적인 세계로서 독자로 하여금 상상력을 일으키며, 이러한 문학적 서정성은 새로운 문화를 형성하는 분야이다. 또한 시각화하기 좋은 언어의 구성으로 연구자는 소설 속에서의 언어를 바탕으로 그 속에 내재되어 있는 상징적, 심상적 아름다움을 디자인의 소재로 활용하여 조형분석 하고자 한다.

Modern poetry begins as criticism of modernity and, by so doing, rejects its idea of time. Modernity emphasizes sequential, linear, and irreversible time and progress. Williams rejects the modern view of time, and attempts to substitute literature for history assuming that literature can take us into the immediacy of time. His poetry asserts the true moment of experience as an immediacy, of words co-existent with things. He suggests that modernity and its idea of time already led to World War I and could clearly lead to an actual, manmade apocalypse with continued technological progress. Already in the 1920s, Williams sensed that he was living in a world where such an end could come all true, which is why Spring and All, his greatest early achievement, begins with a parody of the modern apocalypse. Throughout the work, Williams criticizes "crude symbolism" and expresses his longing to annihilate "strained associations," for he believes that the metaphoric or symbolic association is related to order, the center, and the traditional concept of time itself. The metonymic model of Spring and All substitutes a self-reflexive, open-ended, and indeterminate structure of time for the linear and closed one. Instead of supplying an end, Williams only asserts the rebirth of time and attempts to arrive at immediacy while attacking the mediacy of traditional art. His characteristic use of fragmentation and abrupt juxtapositions disrupts the reader's generic, conceptual, syntactic, and grammatical expectations. His radical poetic experiments, such as the isolation of words and the disruption of syntax, produce a sense of immediacy and force the reader to confront the presence of the poem. His destruction of traditional forms, of the tyrannous designs of history and time, opens up rather than closes the possibility of signification, and takes us into a moment of beginning while disallowing temporal distancing. Spring and All, as a criticism of the modern idea of time, asks us to view Williams's work not as an ahistorical text but as a cultural subversion of modernity.

Intermedia refers to the convergence of media. The advance of intermedia has not only facilitated the delivery of brand messages in contemporary fashion shows but also facilitated interactive communication. This study investigated the mediating roles played by various media in fashion and fashion shows, focusing on the phenomenon of intermedia in contemporary fashion shows. To investigate the impact of intermedia on contemporary fashion shows, we conducted a social network analysis-a promising approach for research into fashion trends. Analyzing 159 fashion-related articles published in the 2000s, we extracted intermedia-related words (n=253). The relation-ships between keywords made an analysis of between centrality, and cluster variables applied Clauset-Newman-Moore by using KrKwic and NodeXL programs. The results of the between centrality analysis indicated that the most important factors in contemporary fashion shows are "models" and "stages." We found that the impacts of intermedia on contemporary fashion shows can be divided into four categories: "model performance," "symbolic stage management," "new media utilization," and "convergence in arts." Our analysis thus identified considerable synergy between the characteristics of intermedia and contemporary fashion shows. These results have found intermedia-related commonalities in intermedia and fashion show, and this might increase customer interest in fashion, a positive outcome for the fashion industry.

The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of modern consumer society and to analyze how the meaning of postmodern-feminism is consumed into what image of preference in fashion. The function of modern society has changed into the system which is centered around consumption from the one that emphasizes labor and production of mass consumption age by mass production. In this consumer society, consumption means just not to waste of production but to consume the commodity sign reflected on the desire of a moderner. In other words, it means what is consumed will be the meaning, preference, symbol, and image mood not goods itself with physical feature. Existing feminism has affected by postmodernism. Due to that, postmodern-feminism has developed, taking to pieces the paternal argument since the late 1960s. It has tried to give up hope this idea, regarding sex distinction as a socially organized category contrary to women's identity of biological aspect suppressed in the paternal system of value. Especially it has demanded only one type on sex should be translated into a distinctive quality, multiple meaning, and sex. Accordingly in modern fashion, this aspect is expressed like the followings : distinction into women's image evaded fixation, multiple meaning into image of androgyny, multiple sex into that of mixture. And this is used as the image of symbolic goods, also the purpose of brand difference.

The color is one of the important key words in Fashion arena today. In fashion, the image and concept changes by use of color or color combinations. The purpose of this research is to pursue the characteristics of color and color combinations through analyzing the colors utilized in oriental fashion design. It is necessary to define the oriental fashion design to build a criteria for collecting law materials for analysis of the research. As a conclusion, traditional oriental colors already used in various traditional artifacts were popular in use by many fashion designers with volatile attitudes towards its original symbolic meanings or philosophy. For example, yellow and red stands for gorgeous or sexy images through fashion design instead of express its original symbols of power and prosperity. The Complimentary Color Combination in hue, value and intensity of colors were also found in fashion design impling oriental images. While Contemporary Fashion Trend Color were also used in expressing Oriental images with oriental details considering fashion market. In using Oriental colors The characteristics of oriental colors and its combinations used in fashion designs are significant and their influences are meaningful not only in fashion design but also adjacent design areas.

Themed hotels is a new form of hotel development that is rising at home and abroad. In the hospitality industry has a leading position. And The design of the themed hotel is different from tradition as hotel as it more innovative. People are attracted to themed hotel for its' unique interior design especially the guest room. For the sake of promoting the themed hotel's running better, guest room design characteristics can't be neglected. Therefore, this paper will analyze the characteristics of the guest's room design in the themed hotel. This paper initially narrates the concept, features and current situation, and then makes an analysis about the types of theme hotels in combination with examples. Secondly, through the thesis analysis of prior research, key words, hybridity, interactions, symbolic, diversity and regionalism about features of rooms in theme hotel are given. Finally, examples about theme hotels at home and abroad opened after 2005 are taken as the center, through which features of rooms in each theme hotel are analyzed. By the analysis of conclusion, basic current situation of rooms in theme hotels is given. The findings of this research will provide a reference to design the guest's room of the themed hotel.

What is the "new paradigm"? It is impossible express it in one or two words, but if one had to; the closest might be the "holistic approach". The expression can be justified by the fact that the conclusions above lead to a greater intermixing of mathematics with engineering and natural sciences subjects, typically expressed in the form of examples of simplified real problems. They also lead to a greater intermixing of subjects within mathematics so that the courses should have less separation e.g. between symbolic and numerical mathematics. The conclusions also lead to the spreading the mathematics courses throughout all study years, not just the first two years. Of course, this should be done with great care in order to guarantee studies that are logically linked together. The new paradigm also means that the needs arising from industrial mathematics must be taken into account in the contents of engineering mathematics courses. Such topics are e.g. multivariate methods, statistics and use of mathematical software. What are we expected to gain from the paradigm shift? The primary benefit should be in obtaining more productive engineers equipped with a better degree of mathematical preparedness for engineering problems. But in addition, it should also promote more intensive use of applied mathematics and easier communication with professional mathematicians, often needed in complicated industrial problems.?Finally, it can be noted that the new paradigm is in harmony with the basic ideas of the CDIO (Conceive - Design - Implement - Operate) initiative for producing the next generation of engineers [1]. New ideas for engineering education can be found also in the homepage of SEFI (European Society for Engineering Education) [2].

The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of theory of Cusanus on the Leonardo's theory of the centralized plan. In Renaissance, Neo-Platonism was so popular that is wat influenced nearly every architecture, literature, painting, sculpture and so on. Theory of Neo-Platonism was so various that every Neo-Platonist had his own theory. Among them, Cusanus focused his theory on rationality, mathematics rather than the medieval symbolism and studied the relationship between the God and men. In the same age, Leonardo da Vinci studied the planning system influenced on many architects works, including Bramante s. His planning system came not from symbolic appearance but from his scientific and rational researches as the theory of Cusanus. This study is to compare Cusanus Neo-Platonism theory and artistie view shown in Leonardo da Vinci's memorandum and drawing and to ascertain the influential relationship, abstracting the common things, and to substitute the characteristics that are seen in his centralized space sketch, abstracting the key words. The study on Cusanus will take advantage of the issued books and will requote Cusanus's copied ones.

This study is not just a meaning of costume but a function of culture and includes addresses the associated emotions. As the interest of youths has increased recently, the importance of traditional costume education has been growing. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the contents of Hanbok in the 2015 revised high school technology and home textbooks using content analysis techniques and text mining techniques. As a result of the study, first, the symbolic meaning and characteristics of Hanbok and the beauty of Hanbok were practiced in daily life, and the value was found through the excellence of Hanbok and the modernization of Hanbok was dealt with Second, most of the illustrations related to traditional costumes were presented in various ways, but there were some regrets due to lack of quantity and quality. Third, the words used to explain traditional costumes were used in the form of culture, excellence, tradition, modernity, harmony, succession, etc. except for the types of clothing. Therefore, the results and discussions derived from this study are expected to help the textbooks to be efficiently selected and used in the field of the front line school along with the correct understanding of traditional culture in the process of selecting traditional culture contents and illustrations.
