When the M-ary signal experiences the Rayleigh fading, the diversity schemes can reduce the effects of fading since the probability that all the signals components will fade simultaneously are reduced considerably. The symbol error probabilities for various M-ary signals, such as MDPSK, MPSK and MQAM, are mathematically derived for the SC-2(Selection Combining 2) demodulation system, whereby the two signals with the two largest amplitudes are coherently combined among the L branches. On the other hand, maximum ratio combining(MRC) requires the individual signals from each path to be time-aligned, cophased, optimally weighted by their own fading amplitude, and then summed. The propagation model used in this paper is the frequency-nonselective slow Rayleigh fading channel corrupted by the Additive White Gaussian Noise(AWGN). The numerical results presented in this paper are expected to provide information for the design of radio system using M-ary modulation method for above mentioned channel environment.

In this paper, we develop a blind adaptive multiuser detector for synchronous CDMA with a noise-whitened filter. To Improve the symbol error probability performance, Decision-Feedback Blind Adaptive Multiuser Detector(DFBD) is proposed and compared with Blind Adaptive Multiuser Detector(BD). The proposed DFBD is slightly improved.

MUD(Multiuser detection) technology which locates desired signal and removes interference signal from multiple access signals increases system capacity and decreases multiple access effect. In this paper, we develop a blind adaptive multiuser detector for synchronous CDMA with a noise-whitened filter. To improve the symbol error probability performance, DFBD (Decision-Feedback Blind Adaptive Multiuser Detector) is proposed and compared with BD(Blind Adaptive Multiuser Detector). The proposed DFBD is slightly improved.
In this paper, we carry out a performance analysis of a two-user free-space optical (FSO) communication system with photodetector multiplexing, in which the two users are defined as the primary user (PU) and secondary user (SU). Unlike common single-user FSO systems, our photodetector multiplexing FSO system deploys a shared detector at the receiver and enables PU and SU to send their own data synchronously. We conduct the performance analysis of this FSO system for two cases: (1) in the absence of background radiation, and (2) in the presence of background radiation. Decision strategies for PU and SU are presented according to the two scenarios above. Exact and approximate conditional symbol-error probability (SEP) expressions for both PU and SU are derived, in an ideal channel with no fading. Average SEP expressions are also presented in the no-background-radiation scenario. Additionally, in some particular cases where the power ratio tends to 0.5 or 1, approximate SEP expressions are also obtained. Finally, numerical simulations are presented under different conditions, to support the performance analysis.

In this paper, we propose a bit synchronizer which is suitable for frequency hopping systems. The proposed bit synchronizer is an ADPLL in which the digial loop filter is combined with an error symbol detecting circuit using an adaptive window. Suppressing the tracking process when hop mute and impulse noises are detected improves the performance of the digital loop filter and enhances the probability of the frequency hopping system. The simulation results demonstrate an improved performance of the proposed bit synchronizer compared with existing ones.

Security is an important issue for wireless communications and poses many challenges. Most security schemes have been applied to the upper layers of communications networks. Since in a typical wireless communication, transmission of data is over the air, third party receiver(s) may have easy access to the transmitted data. This work examines a new security technique at the physical layer for the sake of enhancing the protection of wireless communications against eavesdroppers. We examine the issue of secret communication through Rayleigh fading channel in the presence of an eavesdropper in which the transmitter knows the channel state information of both the main and eavesdropper channel. Then, we analyze the capacity of the main channel and eavesdropper channel we also analyze for the symbol error rate of the main channel, and the outage probability is obtained for the main transmission. This work elucidate that the proposed security technique can safely complement other Security approaches implemented in the upper layers of the communication network. Lastly, we implement the results in Mat lab

Cyclic Delay Diversity (CDD) is a diversity scheme used in OFDM-based telecommunication systems, transforming spatial diversity into frequency diversity and thus avoiding intersymbol interference without entailing the receiver to be aware of the transmission strategy making the signal more reliable achieving full diversity gain in cooperative systems. Here the analyzation of the influence of CDD-SC scheme in Cognitive Radio Network (CRN) is done with the challenge of overcoming the complication called channel estimation along with overhead in CNR. More specifically, the closed-form expressions for outage probability and symbol error rate are divided under different frequencies among independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) frequency selective fading channel model i.e., the signal is divided into different frequencies and transmitted among several narrow band channels of different characteristics. It is useful in the reduction of interference and crosstalk. The results reveal the diversity order of the proposed system to be mainly affected by the number of multipath components that are available in the CNR.

An exact experssion for the average symbol error rate(SER) of L-order selection diversity for MPSK signals in a frequency-nonselective slowy m-distributed Nakagami fading and additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) is determs of finite sums is obtained. To derive the SER of MPSK signals with selection combining, the new expression of pdf is introduced and many other mathmatical methods are used. When fading index m is 1, the derived exppression lead to those of MPSK with selection combining in Rayleight fading channels. The results show that the error probability decreases as the order of diversity increases.

For the theoretical performance analysis of Viterbi Decoder for wireless LAN with data rate 12Mbps, code rate 1/2 and constraint length 7 defined in IEEE 802.11a, the transfer function is derived using Cramer's rule and the first-event error probability and bit error probability is derived under the AWGN. In the design process, input symbol is quantized into 16 steps for 4 bit soft decision and register exchange method instead of memory method is proposed for trace back, which enables the majority at the final decision stage. In the implementation, the Viterbi decoder based on parallel architecture with pipelined scheme for processing 12Mbps high speed data rate and AWGN generator are implemented using FPGA chips. And then its performance is verified in real time.

Selection relaying(SR) is usually based on signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) to decide whether or not to forward recovered symbols. However, instantaneous noise at relay is ignored, leading to the risk of erroneous retransmission induced by the relay that can be detrimental to the eventual detection of symbols at destination. To overcome this problem, we propose using new symbol error probability(SEP) related directly to reliability of received symbols instead of SNR. Simulation results show that the proposed SEP-based SR is considerably better than the conventional SNR-based SR under any relay position and threshold.
