  • This study proposes a method to effectively teaching technic for pattern development and virtual garment manufacturing by adopting the K-MOOC platform for the Apparel Pattern CAD curriculum. According to K-MOOC guidelines, Apparel Pattern CAD curriculum were developed and presented through the K-MOOC platform. A questionnaire survey was utilized to evaluate K-MOOC platform features in terms of learner satisfaction when adopting the 5-point Likert scale. Questionnaire survey participants included 52 college students. The result of the survey found that most of the attributes of the K-MOOC platform were highly rated in terms of interaction and learning effectiveness. The user interface of the K-MOOC platform were shown to be satisfactory in terms of usability. Participants gave a positive assessment of the benefits of online lectures when comparing online and offline lectures. In particular, the preference for online lectures in computer-related courses such as CAD was higher than the offline. It was concluded that the Apparel Pattern CAD curriculum based on the K-MOOC platform was effective and satisfactory for learners in various aspects.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for continuing study in order to accomplish preventive countermeasures for work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSD) and to examine related factors in connection with each other as: the working environment, the equipment used, working method, pain symptoms of dentists. The investigation period for this study was from November 1, 2004 to February 28, 2005, and we analyzed questionnaire survey of 190 dentists who were giving medical treatment in and around the metropolitan area and Daegu City. Also, we visited 20 dental hospitals personally and examined the work posture through check lists, interviews, and field investigations on work posture using photos and videotaping. This study showed the increasing physical burdens which were related to dentists work accomplishment and attitude, recognizing pain which were affecting work related WMSD. With the access of ergonomics and improving the education and training of awkward medical treatment methods and posture, and continuous public information about WMSD, the occurrence rate of WMSD could be decreased.

  • The purpose of this study is to make clear the indoor environmental efficiency and spatial function of the front balcony in apartments using responses from residents'. An interview survey carried out during the 14/sup th/∼24/sup th/ of January 2003, and a questionnaire survey was given during the 17/sup th/∼29/sup th/of January. Interviewees consisted of 31 residents living in renovated apartments, which had the front balcony added onto the living room. The respondents of the questionnaire survey consisted of 37 residents living in ordinary apartments with an existing front balcony. The residents living in ordinary apartments show relatively positive responses on the indoor thermal environment during winter, glare by daylight, and outdoor noise. The average heating charges of the renovated apartments came out to be more expensive than the ordinary apartments. In most renovated apartments, the living area converted from front balcony was used as the same functions ('space for drying the laundry', 'storage space', or 'space for cultivating of flower pots') of ordinary front balcony. From the results of this study, it is undesirable to renovate the front balcony as an addition to the livingroom.

  • With the architectural energy saving technique such as building insulation, airtightness etc., changing the indoor temperature and shortening the air conditioning time etc. are the good methods to practice energy saving in our lives. This study aims to seek a way to realize energy saving under investigation through a questionnaire survey about energy consumption condition and energy saving perception. 93% of the respondents recognized the need for energy saving, and 67% said more energy saving would possible in homes. Viable energy saving way was questioned by five steps method. More than 50% responded 'possible' or 'seems possible' at most of the items. Whereas less than 50% responded 'possible' or 'seems possible' at the items of 'lessening the cooling time' and 'lessening the shower time'. Ages of 50s who responded 'possible' or 'seems possible' was relatively less compared to 30s and 40s.

  • The recent development of information technology in general and consolidation of communications and multimedia technology in particular have brought enormous changes in education and training methods in many business organizations. Numerous studies in the education engineering field report that teaching using multimedia technologies will more enhance the education/training performance than the traditional instructor-teaching method. However, in the management information systems field, few studies are found which directly investigated effects of multimedia technologies on education and training. None of multimedia-related studies can be found in the top-ranked MIS journals published in Korea for the last five years, and only a few stuides are found even worldwide. The major steps of the current research are as follows. First, in order to identify important factors constituting the effectiveness of multimedia systems, previous research related to the effectiveness of multimedia systems was reviewed and analyzed. Second, individual items which can be considered as candidates to represent the effectiveness of multimedia systems were derived from this previous research review, and a survey questionnaire was developed using those derived items. Based on the developed survey questionnaire, a pretest was administered at several domestic business firms with experiences of multimedia systems. Third, survey questionnaires were distributed to and collected from the 517 employees which experienced using multimedia systems.

  • KOREATECH has operated a Co-op program called 'Industry Professional Practice (IPP)' that allows students to work full-time in relevant industries for at least four months since 2012, and also developed a systematic performance evaluation model on the basis of Kirkpatrick's four-stage assessment model. This study aims to share KOREATECH's Levels 3 and 4 evaluation results which are clearly what practitioners and academic investigators of cooperative education want to know the most. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted for KOREATECH graduates and their superiors to examine influence of IPP experiences on employment and job performance. A total of 730 alumni who graduated within last 5 years participated in the survey, with 213 (29.2%) having IPP experiences, and 162 superiors rated their subordinates on seven performance criteria. The analysis results were mixed. On the one hand, employment rate of IPP participants was 89.7%, compared to 86.8% of alumni without field experiences. Participants of the IPP program were more satisfied with their salary and felt less unfair about their career and promotion opportunities than alumni without field experiences. On the other, superiors rated their subordinates without IPP experiences slightly more positively than IPP participants in terms of job performance. These contrasting results are judged to show strengths and weaknesses of the IPP program at the same time. The limitations of the study and future research directions are discussed at the last part.

  • Purpose : The aim of this study was from data collection to item development in the first study before developing a valid and reliable instrument reflecting Korean's own language expression and culture. Methods : The fist survey was 140 osteoarthritis(OA) patients in 2 Cites was studied from November to December 2009. Open-ended questionnaire was decided 39 items from the first open survey. Questionnaire on the Korean Osteoarthritis Impact Measurement Scale(KAIMS) was recruited 2 professors and 5 physical therapists. Second survey was applied to 133 OA patients. Results : OA patients's average age${\pm}$standard deviation was $66.08{\pm}11.10$ years. The internal consistency reliability of 3 items. As estimated by Cronbach's alpha coefficient(${\alpha}$), was high(range, 0.86~0.96). 0.43~0.91 ${\alpha}$ coefficient for the internal consistency reliability of item-each scale was also high. However, item-discriminant validity on 3 items was low(${\alpha}$, 0.92~0.97). The construct validity by factor analysis was a little low. Conclusion : This study revealed that we confirmed a generation for 39 items on KAIMS reflecting Korean's own language expression and culture. Also, those of reliability were a little high. And, we will have to study the last instrument development (3rd study) by more subjects in the future.

Results: The feature by element of risk communication shows that to give information through non-governmental organizations with reliability such as colleges, research institutes, asbestos-related associations, etc among the entire investigated groups, is most effective. Lastly, for stakeholders related to asbestos, the public feedback for governmental asbestos management policy shows that it was considered that there is lack of reality due to comprehension deficit for situation, lack of a system of asbestos general management in the country and lack of policy connectivity among the branches of the government, and between the central government and the local government. However, the general public selected lack of various information disclosure, education, publicity for asbestos and lack of communication with citizens as the biggest problems.
