뇌서지에 의한 배전선로 고장 시 과도상태 분석 (Transient State Analysis of Faults Caused by Lightning Surge in Distribution Line)

  • This paper presents the voltage characteristics of the various faults after lightning surge hits the overhead grounding wire close to the transformer's secondary side. Based on the modeled distribution system, the cases of the various faults occurred by lightning surge are simulated using EMTP/ATPDraw and maximum overvoltage and RMS voltage according to the distances from the transformer are investigated. As a result, it is seen that the voltage characteristics of faults caused by lightning surge is different depending on the fault type and the voltage characteristics can be used to detect the fault type caused by lightning surge.

  • The solenoid valve of ABS hydraulic modulator is a two directional on-off valve and is controlled by around 100Hz on-off control. When the on-off valve is switched from open state to closed state, there are braking force deterioration, noise and vibration due to surge pressure in the wheel cylinder. In this study, identifies surge pressure in the braking process of ABS, and investigates the way to reduce the phenomenon. To reduce the surge pressure, PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) control with high frequency of 20kHz was attempted. In conclusion, by using the results of this study for the pressure surge prediction, we could expect enhancement of braking performance in ABS.

해일-조석-파랑을 결합한 폭풍해일 수치모델 개발에 관한 연구 (Study on Development of Surge-Tide-Wave Coupling Numerical Model for Storm Surge Prediction)

  • IIn this study, a wave-surge-tide coupling numerical model was developed to consider nonlinear interaction. Then, this model was applied and calculations were made for a storm surge on the southeast coast. The southeast coast was damaged by typhoon "Maemi" in 2003. In this study, we used a nearshore wind wave model called SWAN (Simulating WAves Nearshore). In addition, the Meyer model was used for the typhoon model, along with an ocean circulation model called POM (Princeton Ocean Model). The wave-surge-tide coupling numerical model could calculate exact parameters when each model was changed to consider the nonlinear interaction.

  • In this work, in order to investigate the effect of lightning impulse currents on ZnO surge arrester. and the deterioration characteristics of ZnO surge arrester, 8/20 [${\mu}s$], 2.5 [kA] impulse currents were applied to the ZnO surge arrester under test. The leakage currents of ZnO surge arrester were measured and ZnO element was analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. As a result, the resistive leakage current of ZnO surge arrester was increased with the injection number of lightning impulse currents.

  • As the effect of global warming continues, surge rates in Korea are also getting increased. Although there are devices to protect distribution line from the surge like lightning arrester, insulation of the lightning arrester can be destroyed if frequent surge occurs in distribution line. This paper assumed that the lightning surge hits the lightning arrester and make this device's insulation destroyed. This paper also simulated these processes utilizing EMTP/ATPDraw and verified voltage behavior when faults such as line to ground fault due to frequent lightning surge occur in lightning arrester.

  • This paper describes the analysis results for the protection of lightning surge at 154 kV substation. We found that the surge arrester is needed at the inlet structure. The maximum overvoltage is about 1,500 kV at the circuit breaker without the surge arrester at the inlet structure. This value can be lower than 600 kV by installing the surge arrestor at the inlet structure. In addition to the incoming surge from transmission line, the shield wire should be considered to prevent the shielding failure by the direct lightning stroke.

  • The first objective of this study is to set up the switching surge analysis method in motor driving distribution system. The simplified model which can simulate the motor energization and circuit breaker re-ignitions. and each circuit element model is presented in this paper. The second objective is to calculate the quantity of surge over-voltage in real nuclear power station. And the surge suppressing measures are verified on the simulation basis. It is clarified that most cases are not satisfactory to meet the IEEE standard 522-1992 without using surge suppressing measures. In cases that the surge arrester are installed in distribution board at the load side of circuit breaker. The IEEE specification is fully met.

  • The main aim of the paper is the study of the surge voltages in electric railway signal security system. Hence these studies will provide means of introducing a suitable protective device insulating transformer. This influences the surge voltage interrupting capacity using surge arresters and bypass capacitors. This circuit can be used for investigating surge phenomenon in electric railway signal security system. In this paper a insulating transformer has been introduced for the reduction of surge voltages in the above circuit model and performance evaluation.

  • Lightning surge damages of low voltage equipments in building are increasing due to increase in electrical and communication networks in the information-oriented society. And electrical circuits with semiconductor are very weak against lightning surge. To achieve effective method of surge protection on low voltage lines, there are needs for the relationship between propagation aspects of lightning surge and arrangement of indoor wire. This paper describes the experimental study on the relationship between them. This result may be raw data for establishment of surge protection system.

  • 저전압 전력계통에 사용되는 누전차단기의 서지에 대한 오동작은 심각한 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 누전차단기의 서지에 대한 영향을 분석하기 위하여 IEC 61009-1와 KS C 4613 규격에 따라 누전차단기를 시험하였다. 서지전압 시험은 국내외 규격에 모두 적용되고 있으며, 서지전류 시험에 대해서는 국제규격 IEC 61009-1에만 규정되어 있다. 실험결과로부터 누전차단기는 서지전압에 대해서는 강인하지만 서지전류에 대해서는 오동작을 발생시켰다. 실제로 누전차단기가 설치되어 있는 환경에서는 서지전류의 침입이 빈번하므로, 누전차단기는 서지전류에 의한 오동작 시험이 수행되어야 하며, 국내규격에도 누전차단기 시험에 서지전류에 의한 평가를 포함하여야 할 것이다.
