연삭가공 표면 거칠기 기상계측 방법

  • This paper presents a new method based upon the light scattering concept for on-the-machine measurement of roughness of ground surfaces. The present method utilizes fluxes of scattered lights condensed through lenses aligned along the specular direction. A theorctical analysis is preformed for the purpose of investigating the possibility of the method as well as determining the experimental condition. Experiment is also performed to show the effectiveness of the proposed method. The theoretical and experimental results show that the proposed method has a potential to identify a wide range of surface roughness and is robust enough to be useful in on-the-machine measurement of roughness of ground surfaces.

  • A new technique and theory are proposed which correct orientation of a cylinder to perform a reliable measurement of the surface profile. We analyze characteristics of machined surfaces, e.g., ground, lapped and turned surfaces. Based upon the results. the optimum correction technique is derived by the statistical method. To verify the techinques, measurements are carried out by using the contact stylus profilometer on a controllable table. The measurement shows that surface information of cylinders can be acquired with high accuracy.

  • In surface grinding, the conditions of the grinding wheel give a significant effect on the ground workpieces comparing with other metal removal provesses. In this paper, to assist the development, a non-contacting optical method by the laser beam is introduced. The in-process measurement of scattering intensities has been made during surface grinding processes and the surface textures of wheel working surfaces are captured. Also, in order to determine the dressing time monitoring method of a grinding wheel, a three-dimensional computer simulation of the grinding operation has been attempted based on the contact mechanism and the surface-shaping system between the grinding wheel and the workpiece. The optimal dressing time is determined by the amount of the grain wear and work surface roughness.

  • This paper describes the statistical analysis techniques for the surface roughness assessment of polished surfaces. In experiments, the polishing process of the sample surfaces which are manufactured by ball end mill is consist of two steps; the cusp removal process and the surface finishing process. For the cusp removal process, the criterion of cusp removal was established from the power spectrum analysis to assess the change of the cusp removal rate. For the finishing process, the surface was polished by the rotational CBN tool and vibration wood tool. And the surface quality of polished surface was assessed using the functional parameters based on the statistical values of surface profiles. Consequently, the surface finish performance of the polished surface using the vibration wood tool was improved.

  • This study has been focused on properties of mirror surface grinding technology by ELID(Electrolytic In-process Dressing) for structural ceramics using in high precision structural parts as like semi-conductor manufacturing processes. The experimental studies have been carried out to get mirror surface for grinding of structural ceramics, SiC, $Al_2O_3$ and AlN. Grinding process of the ceramics is carried out with varying mesh type, depth of cut and feed rate using diamond wheel. The machining result of the surface roughness and condition of ground surface, have been analyzed by use of surface roughness tester, SEM, AFM and three dimensional surface profiler measurement system.

  • The machining parts must be produced within the specification of drawing and those will be able to meet function and efficiency. At that time, it is very important not only precision machine and machining technique but also the measurement technique. So, the improvement of measurement technique is to be joined together at once with improvement of machining technique. Finally, the quality and value of the parts are decided by precision measurement. This paper aims to study on the machined surfaces characteristics of aluminum alloy by AFM(Atomic force microscope) measurement. The objective is contribution to ultra-precision machining by exhibit foundation data of surface roughness and tool wear when parts are cutting with diamond tool at the factory.

  • 본 논문에서는 토양 표면의 레이더 후방 산란 계수와 표면 거칠기의 관계를 계산해 보고, 측정 길이에 따른 표면 거칠기 변화를 알아본 후에, 측정 길이에 따른 표면 거칠기와 레이더 후방 산란 계수의 관계를 보여준다. 이 연구 결과에 따르면, 측정 길이가 짧아져서 표면 거칠기 값의 변화가 심하다하더라도 계산된 레이더 후방 산란 계수에는 적은 영향밖에 주지 않는다는 것을 보여준다.

Roughness Measurement Performance Obtained with Optical Interferometry and Stylus Method

  • White-light scanning interferometry (WLI) and phase shifting interferometry (PSI) are increasingly used for surface topography measurements, particularly for areal measurements. In this paper, we compare surface profiling results obtained from above two optical methods with those obtained from stylus instruments. For moderately rough surfaces ($Ra{\approx}500\;nm$), roughness measurements obtained with WLI and the stylus method seem to provide close agreement on the same roughness samples. For surface roughness measurements in the 50 nm to 300 nm range of Ra, discrepancies between WLI and the stylus method are observed. In some cases the discrepancy is as large as 109% of the value obtained with the stylus method. By contrast, the PSI results are in good agreement with those of the stylus technique.
