초발수성 및 발수성 알루미늄 양극산화피막의 최신 연구 동향 (Superhydrophobic and Hydrophobic Anodic Aluminum Anodic Oxide Layer: A Review)

  • Hydrophobic and Superhydrophobic surfaces are promising technology for the surface finishing of metallic materials due to its water-repellency. Realization of highly water-repellent surface on aluminum and its alloys provides various functionalities for real application fields. In order to realize the hydrophobic/superhydrophobic surfaces on aluminum and its alloys, various technologies have been demonstrated. Especially, traditional anodic oxidation for aluminum has been widely employed for the morphological texturing of surfaces, which is essential to enhance the hydrophobic efficiency. De-wetting superhydrophobic surface on aluminum provides various exceptional properties, such as anti-corrosion, anti-/de-icing, anti-biofouling, drag reduction, self-cleaning and liquid separation. Nevertheless, the durability and stability of superhydrophobic surfaces still remain challenges for their actual applications in engineering systems and industry. In this review, the theoretical/experimental studies and current technical limitations on the hydrophobic and superhydrophobic surface using anodic oxidation of aluminum have been summarized.

  • This paper was investigated the changes of surface properties of high-temperature-vulcanized(HTV) semiconductive silicone rubber due to oxygen plasma discharge. The modifications produced on the silicone surface by oxygen plasma were accessed using x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), contact angle and Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM). The results of the chemical analysis showed that C-H bonds were broken due to plasma discharge and Silica-like bonds (SiOx. x=3~4) increased. It is thought that the above changes lead to the increase of surface energy of high-temperature-vulcanized(HTV) semiconductive silicone rubber. The micromorphology of surface and hydrophobicity due to plasma discharge based on our results were discussed.

  • In this paper, we investigated the surface degradation of HTV silicone rubber used for a polymeric insulator by UV irradiation. To study the surface ageing properties by W irradiation, we used the corona discharge charging and contact angle. Therefore, we observed the change of surface charge retention and decrease of surface hydrophobicity. Also, we discussed the chemical change in the surface range using the analytic equipment such as SEM, ATR-FTIR, ESCA. Therefore, it is found that the scissor of characteristic bonding and the reattachment of oxidant bonding was developed by UV rays radiation. As discussing the corona ischarge charging and the change of contact angle, it is found the effect of UV irradiation and the mechanism of chemical reaction

계면활성제 생성능과 세포 표면 소수성을 가진 세균 균주들에 의한 석유탄화수소의 생분해 (Biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons by bacteria with surfactant producing capability and cell surface hydrophobicity)

  • 다른 탄화수소 분해 방법을 가진 여러 세균을 유류-오염 토양에서 분리하였다. Acinetobacter calcoaceticus SL1은 기름-분산 시험에서 계면활성제-생성능을 보였으며 경유와 n-hexane에 대해 각각 43.6과 54.5%의 유화활성을 나타내었다. 또한 높은 세포 표면 소수성을 가졌는데 이는 탄화수소에 쉽게 부착하여 그것을 분해할 수 있게 한다. 이 균주는 1,000 mg/L의 n-octadecane과 naphthalene을 3일 내에 100% 분해하였으며, 1,000 mg/L의 경유는 7일 동안 72.3%, 그리고 10,000 mg/L로 오염시킨 토양에서는 4주 간 78%를 제거하였다. 다른 분리균주 Bacillus amyloliquefaciens S10과 B. subtilis GO9는 생물계면활성제를 생산할 수 있으며 기름-분산 시험에서 각각 6.34와 2.5 cm직경의 투명대를 형성하였다. 배양 중 그들의 배양 상등액은 표면장력이 74.6 mN/m으로부터 각각 34.4와 33.3 mN/m으로 감소하였으며, 배양 상등액의 critical micelle concentration은 각각 2.0과 5.9%이었다. A. calcoaceticus SL1과 B. amyloliquefaciens S10의 컨소시엄은 10,000 mg/L의 경유를 3일만에 77.8% 분해하였는데 이는 A. calcoaceticus SL1 단독에 의한 것보다 높은 분해능이었다. 만일 이 세균들을 유류-오염 부지에 컨소시엄으로 같이 처리한다면 높은 석유탄화수소 제거율을 나타낼 수 있을 것이다.

소수성 알루미나막의 증가투과에 의한 에탄올의 분리 (Separation of ethanol/water mixtures with hydrophobic alumina membrane in vapor permeation)

  • The surface of porous alumina membrane was modified with silane coupling agent in order to enhance hydrophobicity. The contact angle of water to the surface-modified alumina membrane was greater than $90^{\circ}$. The surface-modified membrane was tested in vapor permeation for the concentration of aqueous ethanol. With the increase of ethanol concentration in the feed, permeation flux increased due to the greater affinity of ethanol with surface-modified alumina membrane than that of water. The experimental results showed that the permeation rate of surface-modified alumina membrane was 15~1000 times greater than that of polymer membranes.

  • Enhancement of the surface hydrophobicity of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) thin films deposited on substrates covered with titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$) nanospheres was studied. First, a low-temperature solution-phase method using polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as a surface capping agent and a water/dimethylformamide (DMF) mixture as the reaction medium was used to synthesize monodisperse $TiO_2$ nanospheres. It was possible to easily control hydrolysis rate of the Ti-precursors and the size of the synthesized nanospheres by varying the amount of PVP and the volume ratio of the solvent mixture. Spray coating of the synthesized $TiO_2$ nanospheres under the PDMS film increased the water contact angle of the film surface to $150.3^{\circ}$. This simple treatment can modify the surface morphology at a nanometer scale without any long or complicated nanoprocess; hence, the surface enters the superhydrophobic Cassie-Baxter regime.

  • Effects of cationic surfactants old the wetting behavior of the DMDHEU treated cotton fibers were investigated using a technique based on the Wilhelmy principle. The results indicated that Interactions between the fiber and water ill the interface make contributions to wettability of the cotton fiber surface because of reorientation of polar groups at the interface. The effects of types and concentration of cationic surfactant on the wettability of both control and durable press(DP) finished cotton fiber are discussed. Below and near the critical micelle concentration(cmc), the adsorption of hexadecyltrimethylammoniumbromide(HTAB) on the control fiber makes the fiber surface more hydrophobic. Near and above the cmc of octadecyltrimethylammouniumbromide(OTAB) , the decrease in advancing contact angles indicates that the control cotton surface became hydrophilic. By the adsorption of both HTAB and OTAB onto the fiber surface, the hydrophobicity of the DP finished fiber surface became mere hydrophilic.

  • This paper dealt with the surface aging characteristics of silicone rubber used as the surface material of outdoor polymer insulators under accelerated aging condition. There are many aging factors in natural environment. In this paper, the silicone rubber were accelerated to evaluate their performance against salt fog, that is, they were dipped in pure water and salt water under boiling condition. Then, contact angle and SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) were used to estimate surface hydrophobicity, and dielectric loss($tan{\delta}$) and surface leakage current were measured to observe the electrical characteristics.

  • In this study, as part of securing related data, water droplets were dropped on the upper part of the wooden board for flooring in an environment such as floor heating, and the degree of absorption according to the surface temperature change was tested. The test results showed that the contact angle of the surface was low (25℃→40℃) or the droplet was absorbed into the small plate and disappeared. The contact angle of the OSB and MDF was decreased within 30 minutes, but the surface water droplet was maintained longer than the plywood. This is because the surface is coated with hydrophobicity unlike the plywood, but moisture absorption in the cross section after the second processing will not be prevented and it will lead to defect occurrence problem.

분리 강남콩 단백질의 유화특성에 관한 연구 (A study of the Emulsifying Properties of Kidney Bean Protein Isolate)

  • This study was carried out in order to study the emulsifying properties of kidney bean protein isolate. Kidney bean protein isolate was tested for the purpose of finding out the effect of pH, addition of NaCl, and heat treatment on the solbulity and emulsion capacity, emulsion stability, surface hydropobicity and emulsion viscosity. The results were summarized as follows. 1 The solubility of kidney bean protein isolate was affected by pH and showed the lowest value at pll 4.5 which is isoelectric point of kidney bean isolate. When the kidney bean protein isolate was heated, the highest value observed at pH 2 and pH 7 was 96.11%, 97.41% respectively. 2. The emulsion capacity of kidney bean protein isolate was not significantly different with each pH. With addition of NaCl, emulsion capacity decreased steadily. When heated thr highest value observed at pH 2 and pH 7 was 82.91 ml oil/100 mg protein ($60^{\circ}C$), 82.08 m1 oil/100 mg protein ($80^{\circ}C$) respectively. 3. The emulsion stability was significantly higher at pH 4.5 than that of pH 2 and pH 7 (p 0.05) When NaCl was added, emulsion stability was generally increased after 2hrs. When heated, the highest value observed at pH 2 and pH 7 was 21.25% ($80^{\circ}C$),23.7%($100^{\circ}C$) respectively after 2hrs. 4. Surface hydrophobicity increased sharply as 0.2 M NaCl was added to pH 4.5. When heated, the surface hydrophobicity increased as the temperature increased. 5. The highest value of emulsion viscosity was observed at pH 4.5 and pH 7 when 0.2 M NaCl was added. Under heat treatment, the highest value was 48,000 cps at pH 4.5 ($40^{\circ}C$). In the case of pH 7, the highest value was 105,000 cpa at $100^{\circ}C$.
