이러한 환경은 ICT(Information & Communication Technology)와 매우 친화적이며 스마트그리드의 발전을 촉진시킨다.

  • DNP3(Distributed Network Protocol) is one of the most representative protocols which is used in SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. IEC 62351 is listing the integrity, confidentiality, availability and non-repudiation or accountability as the security requirement. However, IEEE Std. 1815 that is DNP3 standards does not define a mechanism for non-repudiation or accountability. In this paper, we propose a non-repudiation of origin technique about the sender of critical ASDU and implement the proposed scheme using software such as OpenSSL and SCADA source code library.

  • Margin benefits are quantatively assessed when a Digital Monitoring System(DMS) is assumed to be installed to an operating Westinghouse analog type plant. Applied plant and cycle is YongGwang Unit 1 Cycle 6. The referenced digital monitoring system is the COLSS (Core Operating Limit Supervisory System) of ABB-CE. Considered fuel design limits are DNBR and LDCA Fq. 2003-D Power distributions within the present CAOC (Constant Axial Offset Control) limits are calculated for the analysis. The most limiting DNB prevention event of CEA Withdrawal is analyzed with the ROPM (Required OverPower Margin) concept of ABB-CE. The result show that the DMS can bring around 7% more margins for both DNB and LOCA Fq standpoints of view. The DMS can also monitor the PCI (Pellet-Cladding Interaction) limits.

  • Quantities of data in the DMS (Distribution management system) or SCADA (Supervisory control and data acquisition) system is enormously large as illustrated by the usage of term flooding of data. This enormous quantity of data is transmitted to the status data or event data of the on-site apparatus in real-time. In addition, if GIS (Geographic information system) and AMR (Automatic meter reading), etc are integrated, the quantity of data to be processed in real-time increases unimaginably. Increase in the quantity of data due to addition of system or increase in the on-site facilities cannot be handled through the currently used Single Thread format of data processing technology. However, if Multi Thread technology that utilizes LF-POOL (Leader Follower -POOL) is applied in processing large quantity of data, large quantity of data can be processed in short period of time and the load on the server can be minimized. In this Study, the actual materialization and functions of LF POOL technology are examined.

  • Unmanned military vehicles (UMVs) will be increasingly applied to the various military operations. These UMVs are most commonly characterized as dealing with "4D" task - dull, dirty, dangerous and difficult with automations. Although most of the UMVs are designed to a high degree of autonomy, the human operator will still intervene in the robots operation, and tele-operate them to achieve his or her mission. Thus, operator capacity, along with robot autonomy and user interface, is one of the important design factors in the research and development of the UMVs. In this paper, we propose the method to assess the operator capacity of the UMVs. The method is comprised of the 6 steps (problem, assumption, goal function identification, operator task analysis, task modeling & simulation, results and assessment), and herein colored Petri-nets are used for the modeling and simulation. Further, an illustrative example is described at the end of this paper.

  • This paper presents the results of a pilot study and verification of a concept of a novel methodology for damage detection and assessment of water distribution system. The unique feature of the proposed noninvasive methodology is the use of accelerometers installed on the pipe surface, instead of pressure sensors that are traditionally installed invasively. Experimental observations show that a sharp change in pressure is always accompanied by a sharp change of pipe surface acceleration at the corresponding locations along the pipe length. Therefore, water pressure-monitoring can be transformed into acceleration-monitoring of the pipe surface. The latter is a significantly more economical alternative due to the use of less expensive sensors such as MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) or other acceleration sensors. In this scenario, monitoring is made for Maximum Pipe Acceleration Gradient (MPAG) rather than Maximum Water Head Gradient (MWHG). This paper presents the results of a small-scale laboratory experiment that serves as the proof of concept of the proposed technology. The ultimate goal of this study is to improve upon the existing SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) by integrating the proposed non-invasive monitoring techniques to ultimately develop the next generation SCADA system for water distribution systems.

  • In accordance with the Government's policy, renewable power generation is expanding very largely. This leads to increasing uncertainty in the power market and power system owing to the intermittent and fluctuating output characteristics of renewable power generators. Data on the acquisition of renewable power generators can be largely classified according to the operation of the power market and power system. Data on the settlement for the payment for the power amount are acquired in the power market, and real-time data for monitoring the status and output of the generators are acquired in the power system. However, renewable power generators operating in the power market have different acquisition cycles depending on the method of communication of the power meter. They acquire data only for settlement purposes and have no real-time data, which requires improvement. In this paper, the acquisition status is reviewed by classifying the data of renewable power generators into settlement and real-time data. In addition, measures and acquisition criteria for real-time data of renewable power generators for improving the acquisition method are proposed.

  • In recent years, the problem of data drifted of the smart grid due to manual operation has been widely studied by researchers in the related domain areas. It has become an important research topic to effectively and reliably find the reasonable data needed in the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system has become an important research topic. This paper analyzes the data composition of the smart grid, and explains the power model in two smart grid applications, followed by an analysis on the application of each parameter in density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) algorithm. Then a comparison is carried out for the processing effects of the boxplot method, probability weight analysis method and DBSCAN clustering algorithm on the big data driven power grid. According to the comparison results, the performance of the DBSCAN algorithm outperforming other methods in processing effect. The experimental verification shows that the DBSCAN clustering algorithm can effectively screen the power grid data, thereby significantly improving the accuracy and reliability of the calculation result of the main grid's theoretical line loss.
