  • 1. The purpose of this study is to provide a series of statistical "bench marks" from which one can begin to think systematically about the required development of the Korean food and fertilizer needs over the next quarter-century. 2. The Korean population has been estimated by the characteristics of the population and its social and political situations today. Because fertility and mortality rates are relatively stable and are under control of politics concerned, the estimation rates were established with 1.6% over 1975-1980, 1.3% over 1981-1990, and 1.0% over 1991-2000. 3. Annual per capita absorption of milled rice has fluctuated rather closely around 140kg, since 1968, with no evidence of declining trend. Per capita absorption of barley and wheat around 120 kg, and legumes around 10.6kg, However because the case of wheat and corn productions are rather difficult the self-sufficiency in the future, the rice is considered to be accelerate its yield growth surplus the level of self-sufficiency to export. 4. The fertilizer demand in each element has been calculated by mechanical multiplication of "the recommend index of fetilizer application" to yield a unit production over the need of national food supply by crop year. 5. As a results refer to Table (8), the estimated quantities of total fertilizer demand to meet the national food supply of the years of 1974, 1980, 1985, 1.990, 1995, and 2000 are reached around 871500, 1138150, 1375480, 1515030, 1652090 and 1799850 metric tons in each year.

  • Objectives : The study explored perceptional gap of dentists and their employees between expectation and satisfaction. Methods : For analysis, the study surveyed 407 employees and 91 dentists on their expectation and satisfaction depending on expectation. Results : When the satisfaction on a question was lower than expectation; the rate of sufficiency was below 100%, it is necessary to improve on the question. Contrarily when the satisfaction on a question was higher than expectation; the rate of sufficiency was upper 100%, it is necessary to continuously support the question. The most of satisfaction of employees on their dentists and their organization were lower than employees's expectation of those. The most of satisfaction of dentists on their own and employees were lower than dentists's expectation of those as similar as employees cases, It means that all of questions need to improve continuously. Conclusions : The issues for prior decision to change these phenomena are 1) improvement of communication each other, 2) recovery of credence each other, and 3) leadership style change from authoritarian to consideration.

  • Purpose: This study examined the level of students' anxiety depending on the injection type, education methods, and the students' characteristics. Methods: 209 first year nursing students were randomly assigned to each group by three factors -injection methods, video watching, and number of practice. Injection methods had two levels (IV and IM). Video watching also had also two levels (video watching and non-watching group). And the number of practice had 4 levels according to number of practice (2, 4, 6, and 8 times). The video watching group was watching 30 minutes video before manikin practice. After 5 to 15 minutes of manikin practice, the sufficiency of practice and the level of anxiety were measured. The data were analyzed by t-test and one way ANOVA. Results: The anxiety of the IV practice was higher than that of IM. The students who have experiences of working at hospital or the similar institution were lower in anxiety. The higher self-confident in sufficiency of practice lowered the students' anxiety. But watching video and the number of practices had no effects on the level of anxiety. Conclusion: To effectively lower the anxiety of nursing students in the nursing practice education, lecture methods and education tools are needed to develop.

  • This research was based on surveys about differences of perception on retirement among the babe-boomers. Middle-aged men and women in their 40s' and 50s' residing in metropolitan areas centering around Seoul were the main targets for the surveys. Results indicated meaningful differences between men and women in the level of percection and expectation about their retirement. More specifically, men noted physical health, economic sufficiency and work as significant factors for happy retirement. Women, on the other hand, answered economic sufficiency first, and then physical health and relationship with spouse as the important variables for retirement. In addition, men and women portrayed different expectations for difficulties of retirement. Based on the survey results, this research proposed possible national, social, corporate, and individual approaches for secure retirement of the middle-aged baby-boom generation.

  • This study analyzes what effects does restaurant's well-being attribute selection have on word-of-mouth intention. Based on the result, this study aims to provide basic data for establishing Korean restaurant's service strategy and marketing strategy. The researchers surveyed 350 customers who visited a Korean restaurant located in Kangbook, Seoul. We encoded gathered data and analyzed them using SPSS 17.0 statistics package program. Following are the analyzed results. First, under hypothesis 1 - Korean restaurant's well-being attribute selection will have a positive influence on re-visitation intention - it is shown that sufficiency, healthiness, and steadiness have similar influence on re-visitation intention. Second, under hypothesis 2 - Korean restaurant's well-being attribute selection will have a positive influence on word-of-mouth intention - it is shown that sufficiency, healthiness, environment, and steadiness have similar influence on word -of-mouth intention. Third, under hypothesis 3 - Korean restaurant's re-visitation intention will have a positive influence on word -of-mouth intention - it is considered that eliciting customer's re-visitation intention also has influence on word-of-mouth intention. We will be necessary to consult how to derive customer's re-visitation intention or word-of-mouth intention by considering factors which customers of traditional Korean restaurant value.

  • This study aims at understanding both the mechanism of new town's competitiveness and its normative pursuit. For the purpose the study steps as follows; (1) Defining operationally cities' competitive power by means of analytic interpretation of substantial nature involved in the preceding studies, (2) Finding some lessons for the desirable development suggested from the history of new town construction in England, France and Japan, where the spatial needs for solving urban problems were exploded after the Second World War, (3) Focusing to agendas regarding development, for example, sustainable development, (4) Recognizing differences between competitiveness of cities and that of new towns and finally (5) Building the model of new town competitiveness, which explains what makes the competitiveness and what kind of effort are necessary for acquiring the advantage. As the result of the process this study concludes that the competitiveness is caused by, or composed of 4 factors. They are Self-sufficiency, Identity, Innovativeness and Sustainability. This frame can be named SIIS-model of new town competitiveness. But there should be contingent and elastic approach in adaptation of these factors to a specific new town, considering its own goal, scale and other situation. The model established in this study is expected to be a analytical frame for the follow-up studies on finding problems and seeking directions of new town development in our country.

  • This paper suggests an instruction code sufficiency algorithm preventing data collision when multiple transponders attempt to connect in the radio frequency identification system. Conventional time domain procedure generates unconditional collision. On the other hand, this algorithm prevents data collision by transmitting data when it meets instruction code. When multiple transponders are transmitting data coincidently, they exploit desired data with using difference of arrival time generated by recognition distance, respectively. As a result of simulation, utilizing the wireless recognition system, adopting the suggested algorithm, operating in 13.56MHz frequency band, it verify that there is Anti-collision and data loss by ensuring transmission time difference of one bit by adopting this algorithm.

  • In this paper, a new intensity measure of earthquakes for probabilistic seismic analysis is presented for skewed highway bridges. Three different cases of skewed bridges with different skew angles ($0^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$) are considered. Well-known intensity measures (e.g., PGA, $S_a$) are evaluated and critically discussed based on sensitivity analysis: efficiency, practically, proficiency and sufficiency of intensity measures are considered in detail. The analyses demonstrated that the intensity measures have to take into account structural acceleration on a wide range of periods so that a new seismic intensity measure is proposed showing that it has less dispersion compared to others. Since the proposed intensity represents the average value of the $S_a$ (between a lower and upper structural period) it has been called Averaged Spectral Acceleration (ASA). Based on performed incremental dynamic analysis (IDA), the seismic analytical fragility curves of typical skewed highway bridges have been evaluated for different states of damage controlling the low dispersion of the ASA index as well as its proficiency and sufficiency.

  • The concept of food security has gained increasing attention during the food crisis period between 2006 and 2011. According to the FAO, food security is defined as an access by all people at all times to the food needed for healthy and active life. Achieving food security means that sufficient food is available, food supply is relatively stable, and those in need of food can afford food at a reasonable cost. After a short period of stable food prices the world is facing another food crisis due mainly to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion over Ukraine. Food security has re-emerged as an urgent problem to the world. There have been two conflicting opinions about how to achieve food security. Agricultural exporting countries insist diversification of food sources and freer trade on the top of domestic self-reliance. On the other hand, food importing countries emphasize self-sufficiency of major food crops. This study investigates whether domestic agricultural production contributes to strengthening food security. The panel data analysis shows that the increase in food self-sufficiency raises the Global Food Security Index and lessens the probability of food riots, while lower import tariffs (implying freer trade) do not. Some related issues are discussed accordingly.
