The Functions and Roles of Bimodal Tram in the Public Transportation System (대중교통체계에서 바이모달 트램의 기능과 역할)

  • The public transportation in operation or to be planned domestically includes subway, LRT, bimodal tram and bus, which are independently characterized in their passenger capacity and cost. High quality service is generally accompanied by high cost of construction and operation. Thus, ITS, BIS/BMS and BRT system are recently introduced to provide high quality service to the passengers with the cost as low as possible. The bimodal tram is under development to achieve such goals in public transportation. The passenger capacity is approximately expected to be 10,000$\sim$17,000 persons/hour and the construction cost to be 10$\sim$30 million dollars/km. It is possible to construct the infrastructure gradually depending on the demand of transportation in the planned route, which can effectively reduce the initial cost to launch the service. The bimodal tram is developed to provide the advantages of subway and bus to the passengers with respect to the scheduled operation and flexibility of the lines.

  • It explained the cause and a process of Taegu subway fire accident in this report. Will reach and to lead it analyzed the structure and actual proof problem which it follows in Urban construction and the operation of Korea. The Urban is operated efficiently to be respected, it demands a security division order to become fixed the culture which it uses, it intercepts the misfortune due to the human being the setup for with the destroyer it is possible.   • When an underground pipeline runs parallel with DC-powered railways, it suffers from electrolytic corrosion caused by the stray current leaked from the railway negative returns. Perforation due to the electrolytic corrosion may bring about large-scale accidents even cathodically protected systems. Traditionally, bonding methods such as direct drainage, polarized drainage and forced drainage have been used in order to mitigate the damage on pipelines. In particular, the forced drainage method is widely adopted in Seoul. In this paper, we report the analysis of the stray current conditions in Seoul subway DC electrification system.

  • This paper presents a lateral displacement restoring force control for the independently rotating wheelsets (IRWs) of shallow-depth subway systems. In the case of the near surface transit, which has recently been introduced, sharp curved driving performance is required for the city center service. It is possible to decrease the curve radius and to improve the performance of the straight running with the individual torque control. Therefore, the individual torque control performance of the motor is the most important point of the near surface transit. This paper deals with a lateral displacement restoring force control for sharp curved driving. The validity and usefulness of the proposed control algorithm is verified by experimental results using a small-scale bogie system.

  • Using transportations like railway, aviations and roads has been increasing continuously. Traffic accidents have been increasing as well. To prevent or lessen these accidents become a big issue to solve. Therefore, more enforced safety levels are being required to meet. In railway field, continuous efforts of railway safety are being executed to prevent traffic accidents. In present, a railway accident has been decreasing since subway accident happened in Daegu Subway in 2003. However, safety levels in railway field have not yet achieved as much as in advanced countries. Basic concept for enforced safety level in railway system is to prevent or minimize accidents by managing systems like related facilities, management method, organization, education. This is the same concept to minimize error rate in six sigma theory. In this paper, we are to apply six sigma techniques used in manufacturing industry to railway safety and go through ways to make more efficient railway safety system.

  • Wireless mobile communication systems in subway tunnels have been widely researched these years, due to increased demand for the communication applications. As a result, an accurate model is essential to effectively evaluate the communication system performance. Thus, a neoteric three-dimensional (3D) geometry-based stochastic model (GBSM) is proposed for the massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) fading channels in tunnel environment. Furthermore, the statistical properties of the channel such as space-time correlation, amplitude and phase probability density are analyzed and compared with those of the traditional two-dimensional (2D) model by numerical simulations. Finally, the ergodic capacity is investigated based on the proposed model. Numerical results show that the proposed model can describe the channel in tunnels more practically.

  • 최근 미세먼지가 사회적 이슈가 됨에 따라 지하철 시스템의 공기 질에도 많은 관심이 쏠리고 있다. 지하철 미세먼지는 지상과 달리 폐쇄적인 환경이라는 특징이 있는데, 이로 인해 발생 및 유입된 미세먼지는 지하철 시스템에 축적된다. 지하철 미세먼지의 대부분을 차지하는 미세마모입자들은 철 성분을 주축으로 다양한 중금속 성분을 포함하므로 인체에 해롭다. 본 기고문에서는 이러한 지하철 미세먼지 및 미세마모입자에 대한 기본 지식과 미세마모입자의 주된 발생원인 휠-레일 접촉 미세먼지발생 연구에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 연구 결과들은 지하철 공기 질 향상을 위해 미세마모입자 발생 저감에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

  • 본 연구에서는 지하역사 및 터널에서 발생되는 미세먼지의 현황 및 이를 저감하기 위한 기술의 동향을 조사하였다. 지하역사 및 터널의 미세먼지 농도는 주변 대기 중의 농도보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그 구성 성분에 있어서 다양한 중금속 및 발암물질들을 함유하고 있고, Fe의 농도가 가장 높게 나는 것을 알 수 있었다. 지하역사 및 터널의 미세먼지 농도는 주변 대기 농도와 같은 외부 요인뿐만 아니라 열차의 운행 수, 이용 승객수, 환기량과 같은 내부 요인도 큰 영향을 미치는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 현재 지하역사 및 터널의 미세먼지를 저감하기 위해서 다양한 기술(환기팬, 스크린도어, 자성필터, 소형제트팬, 인공지능 환기시스템 등)들이 연구되고 있으며, 그 기술들은 현장 조건에 맞추어 사용되어야 그 실효성을 극대화시킬 수 있을 것이다.

  • Light Rail Transit (LRT) System is an urban transit system which has approximately an intermediate transportation capacity between conventional subway and bus ($5,000{\sim}25,000$ persons per hour and per direction). It is a high-tech system which operational capacity, punctuality and mobility are remarkably improved. There are some types of LRT systems such as monorail, tramway, AGT(Automated Guideway Transit), and so on. The LRT systems have been applied and being operated in about a hundred lines around the world and many projects that apply the LRT systems in Korea are being proceeded and scheduled. For the efficient management, economical construction, and safe operation of various LRT systems, the establishment of national standard is necessary such as vehicle standardized specification, vehicle performance test standard, vehicle safety standard, construction guide, operation regulation, etc. of LRT systems. This paper presents the standard specification of electrical equipment of linear induction motor type light rail vehicle, that is LIM AGT(AGT system propelled with linear induction motor) vehicle. The LIM AGT system has been applied in Japan subway and ART(Advanced Rapid Transit) system of Canada and Yongin LRT is currently under construction.
