돼지분변에서 분리한 Lactobacillus sp. KJ-5의 항균특성 (Antibacterial Activity of actobacillus sp. KJ-5 Isolated from Pig Feces)

  • 어린돼지의 분변으로부터 Salmonella paratyphi에 강한 항균활성을 나타내는 균주를 분리하여, 이 균주를 Lactobacillus sp. KJ-5로 동정하였다. Lactoba C cillus sp. KJ-5 배양액의 항균활성은 균주의 성장에 비례하여 증가하여 정지기에서 최대를 나타냈으며, 최적 항균활성을 위한 배양온도는 $37^{\circ}C$로서 균주의 최적 성장온도와 통일하였다. Lactobacillus sp. KJ­5 배양여액의 pH를 6.2로 조정한 경우 항균활성이 약간 감소하였으나, catalase 처리에 의해셔는 항균 활성에 아무런 영향이 없었으므로 배양중에 생성된 산이나 H101 이외의 물질이 항균활성에 관여함을 알 수 있었다. 배양여 액으로 부터 methanol과 acetone 추출에 의하여 S. paratyphi어l 항균활성을 냐타내는 항균물질을 부분정제하였다. 부분정제된 항균물질은 thin-layer chromatography에서 3개의 물질로 분리 되었으며, 이중에 하나가 항균활성을 나타내었다. 또 한 부분정제된 항균물질은 270nm에셔 최대 uv 흉 광도를 나타내였으며, 단백질 가수분해 효소의 처리 에 의하여 완전히 불활성화 되었다. 따라서 Lactob$\alpha$ C cillus sp. KJ-5가 생성하는 항균물질은 저분자량의 단백질일 것으로 추정된다.

녹비식물 혼합재배에 휴믹물질 투입이 정화처리토양의 생물학적 토양 건강성 지표에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Mixed Planting of Green Manure Crops Supplemented with Humic Substance on the Biological Soil Health Indicators of Reclaimed Soils)

  • The effects of green manure crops, hairy vetch and sesban, supplemented with HS (humic substance) on biological soil health indicators was studied in a pot containing two kinds of reclaimed soil previously contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons; a soil remediated by land-farming (DDC) and another soil by low-temperature thermal desorption (YJ). Treatments include no plant (C), plants only (H), and plants+2% HS (PH), which were evaluated in a pot containing respective soil. Biological indicators include microbial community analysis as well as soil enzyme activities of dehydrogenase, 𝛽-glucosidase, N-acetyl-𝛽-D-glucosaminidase (NAG), acid/alkaline phosphatase, arylsulfatase, and urease. Results showed an increase of enzyme activities in pot soils with plants and even greater in soils with plants+HS. The enzyme activities of DDC soil with plants (DDC_P) and with plants+HS (DDC_PH) increased 1.6 and 3.9 times on average, respectively than those in the control. The enzyme activities YJ soil with plants (YJ_P) and with plant+HS (YJ_PH) increased 1.8 and 3.8 times on average, respectively than those in the control. According to microbial community analysis, the relative abundance of nitrogen-fixing bacteria in DDC and YJ soil was increased from 1.5% to 7% and from 0 to 5%, respectively, after planting hairy vetch and sesban. This study showed that mixed planting of green manure crops with a supplement of humic substance is highly effective for the restoration of biological health indicators of reclaimed soils.

대전.충청 지역 초.중학교 급식의 나트륨, 칼륨 함량 및 섭취량 조사 (Survey on Sodium and Potassium Content of School Meals as well as Sodium and Potassium Intake by Students in the Daejeon and Chungcheong Area)

  • This study was conducted as a nationwide project in order to obtain data on the content and intake of sodium in school meals. For this purpose, we selected two elementary and two middle schools in Daejeon as well as four elementary schools in the Chungcheong area. We measured the sodium and potassium contents of 842 dishes as well as their intake levels over 154 days. Sodium content was analyzed using an AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrometer). The average meal intakes of second and fifth grade elementary school students were 244 g/meal and 304 g/meal, respectively. The meal intake of middle school students was 401 g/meal. Boys tended to eat slightly more than did girls, and students tended to eat more in the spring than in the summer. The average sodium intake per meal was 642 mg (570 mg by elementary school students, 1068 mg by middle school students), which was 32.1% of the UL (Tolerable Upper Intake Level, 2,000 mg per day) according to the KDRIs (Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans). The sodium intake per meal was not significantly differ between boys and girls or between spring and summer (p>0.05). This study provides fundamental data that can be used to establishment a nutrition policy concerning the adequate content of sodium in school meals.

하치조 신경 절단이 치주인대공간에서 파골세포에 미치는 영향 (Effects on Osteoclast in Periodontal Ligament Space by Denerveation of Inferior Alveolar Nerve in Young and Adult Rats)

  • 본 연구는 하치조신경의 수술적 절단이 치주인대공간에서의 파골세포에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위하여 시행하였다. 이를 위하여 실험동물을 젊은 쥐 군 과 성 쥐 군으로 구분하여 좌측 하악골에는 하치조신경절단을 시행하여 실험측으로, 우측하악골은 가수술측으로 사용하였다. Bundle 골 표면에 위치한 파골세포의 수 그리고 파골세포의 골 흡수 활성도를 조직 형태적으로 측정하였다. 또한 Substance P 면역반응 신경섬유의 분포 변화를 치주인대와 치 수조직에서 평가하였다. Substance P 면역반응 신경섬유는 양군 실험측에서 고갈됨으로서 하치조신경의 수술적 절단이 성공적이었다는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다 실험측에서 파골세포의 수가 젊은 쥐 군 과 성 쥐 군 모두에서 유의하게 감소하였다(p<0.01과 p<0.05). 그러나 파골세포의 골 흡수 활성도는 양군 모두에서 실험측과 가수술측 사이에 차이를 나타내지 않았다(P>0.05). 성 쥐 군에서 파골세포의 수가 젊은 쥐 군에 비해 유의하게 감소되었으며 (p<0.01), 파골세포의 골 흡수 활성도에서는 변화가 없었다(p>0.05). 이들 결과를 통하여 감각신경인 하치조신경의 절단과 연령증가는 치주인대 공간에서 Bundle골 표면의 파골세포의 수를 감소시켰으며 골 흡수 활성도에는 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

가연성물질의 자연발화온도 측정 및 예측 - 메탄올과 에탄올 - (Measurement and Prediction of Autoignition Temperature(AIT) of Flammable Substances - Methanol and Ethanol -)

  • Flammable substances are frequently used chemical industry processes. An accurate knowledge of the ALTs(Autoignition Temperatures) is important in developing appropriate prevention and control measures in industrial fire protection. The AITs describe the minimum temperature to which a substance must be heated, without the application of a flame or spark, which will cause that substance to ignite. The AITs are dependent upon many factors, namely initial temperature, pressure, volume, fuel/air stoichiometry, catalyst material, concentration of vapor, ignition delay. This study measured relationship between the AITs and the ignition delay times by using ASTM E659-78 apparatus for methanol and ethanol. The A.A.P.E.(Average Absolute Percent Error) and the A.A.D.(Average Absolute Deviation) of the experimental and the calculated delay times by the AITs for methanol were 14.59 and 1.76 respectively. Also the A.A.P.E. and the A.A.D. of the experimental and the calculated delay times by the ATIs for ethanol were 8.33 and 0.88.

KR-25018과 capsaicin의 기니픽에 대한 in vivo 약리작용 (In vivo effect of KR-25018 and capsaicin in guinea pig)

  • KR-25018 과 capsaicin 모두 용량의존적으로 진통효과를 나타내었으며 효력은 KR-25018이 capsaicin 보다 약간 강하거나 비슷하였고, 두 약물 모두 10 mg/kg에서 최대 효과를 나타내었다. KR-25018 과 capsaicin의 투여 농도에 의존적으로 기관지의 substance P 양이 감소하였으며 두 약물 모두 5 mg/kg에서 최대효과를 나타내었다. Capsaicin 1 mg/kg 전처치에 의해 기니픽의 체온이 30 분부터 감소하였으나, KR-25018 1 mg/kg에 의해서는 체온변화가 훨씬 미약하였다. Capsazepine 의 병용투여에 의해 두 약물의 진통작용 및 substance P 감소작용은 모두 억제되었으나 체온 변화에 대해서는 capsazepine이 아무런 영향을 미치지 않았다.

정신신경면역학 개관 (An Overview of Psychoneuroimmunology)

  • This review briefly summarizes the relevant knowledge of psychoneuroimmunological basis for neuroimmunology, with particular emphasis on bidirectional neural-immune interactions. The immune system and the nervous system maintain extensive communication, including hardwiring of sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves to lymphoid organs. Immune system is modulated by various neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine, norepinephrine, substance P and histamine. Neuroendocrine hormones such as corticotrophin-releasing hormone(CRH) or substance P regulate cytokine balance. The immune system modulates brain activity including sleep and body temperature. Recent studies have revealed that psychological factors which influence immunity and immune-related disease may modulate brain-to -immune interaction. But, we still await the scientific research and evidences to prove whether or how behavioral or treatment intervention of stress can influence the development, progress or prevention of a specific disease.

Oxytetracycline-Mg Complex제제의 안정성에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Stability of Oxytetracycline-Mg Complex Preparation)

  • When the pH of the mixture containing oxytetracycline, $MgCl_26H_2O$ (2 : 1) and citric acid in aqueous solution is changed by adding monoethanolamine, some difference substances are produced. In the range of pH 8.5-9.3, the stable substance which exhibit U. V. max. absorption at 267.5-268 nm and 372.5 nm is produced. According to preparing method, the mixture of oxytetracycline. $MgCl_26H_2O$ (2 : 1) and citric acid in 75% propylene glycol aqueous solution are dissolved with monoethanolamine, and then, it is standed for a long time. An unknown substance is precipitated. It seems to be a compound containing $MgCl_26H_2O$, citric acid and monoethanolamine, but not oxytetracycline.

Conformation of Substance P in Neutral Phospholipid Micelles

  • A linear undecapeptide, Substance P (SP) is involved in a wide variety of physiological processes such as pain, inflammation, salivation, and hypertension. Tertiary structure of SP in dodecylphosphocholine (DPC) micelles has been investigated by CD, NMR spectroscopy, and DGII calculation. CD spectrum of SP in the presence of 7.5 mM DPC micelles does not show any favorable secondary structure. The tertiary structure determined by NMR spectroscopy and DGII calculation shows that the Phe7-Phr8-Gly9-Leu10 region adopts a turn structure, while the N-terminal region is quite flexible. Both prolines in SP exist preferentially as the trans isoforms and the aromatic ring of Phe7 protrudes outward. Conformation of SP may be restrained by the contact of the Phe7 aromatic ring with the hydrophobic side chains of the DPC micelles and this interaction induces a turn structure. Structure of SP in aqueous solution in the presence of DPC micelles can represent a good model to study the conformation recognized by the receptor near neutral membrane.

막미생물과 부유미생물의 kinetics 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Bio-kinetics of Suspended Sludge and Attached Sludge)

  • Biological treatment systems generally can be divided into two main classes of a suspended sludge process and attached one like a fluidized bed reactor. These process are considered to bring remarkable change in species composition of microorganisms, due to difference of a state of biofilm, a concentration and diffusion velocity of dissolved oxygen, a concentration and diffusion velocity of substance or poisonous matter. The change of species composition bring different treatment result for influence factors like F/M ratio, DO concentration, pH or poisonous matter. This study is to investigate the reaction characteristics of both microorganisms, namely, a suspended sludge and attached sludge, through the changes of pH, temperature and substance concentration.
