  • Stone cultural heritages in Korea have a severe damages from chemical and biological weathering because most of them have been situated in outdoors without any suitable protection systems, and this in turn causes deformation and structural damage. To counteract these problems and increase durability, various kinds of conservation materials are used in the conservation and restoration treatments. However until now there are not many practical and technological experiments on this subject. This paper attempts quantitative evaluation of effectiveness about chemical of ethylsilicate based resin for sandstone in Yeongyang-gun. It takes a long time to evaluate durability and side effect after conservation materials treatment. So we use artificial weathering through freezing§ thawing experimental method. As a result of this experiment, porosity and absorptance increased, and elastic wave speed, elastic modules, unconfined compression strength and tensile strength decreased more than before. This study plans to make a scientific method study about weathering factor and mechanism, and to deduce correlation between artificial weathering and natural weathering.

  • Graphene has been the subject of intense study in recent years owing to its good optoelectronic properties, possibility for stretchable electronics, and so on. Especially, many research groups have studied about graphene nanostructures with various sizes and shapes. Graphene needs to be fabricated into useful devices with controllable electrical properties for its successful device applications. However, this been far from satisfaction owing to a lack of reliable pattern transfer techniques. Photolithography, nanowire etching, and electron beam lithography methods are commonly used for construction of graphene patterns, but those techniques have limitations for getting controllable GNRs. We have developed a novel nanoscale pattern transfer technique based on an electro-hydrodynamic lithography providing highly scalable versatile pattern transfer technique viable for industrial applications. This technique was exploited to fabricate nanoscale patterned graphene structures in a predetermined shape on a substrate. FE-SEM, AFM, and Raman microscopy were used to characterize the patterned graphene structures. This technique may present a very reliable high resolution pattern transfer technique suitable for graphene device applications and can be extended to other inorganic materials.

  • A fast Poisson solver on irregular domains, based on bound-ary methods, is presented. The harmonic polynomial approximation of the solution of the associated homogeneous problem provides a good practical boundary method which allows a trivial parallel processing for solution evaluation or straightfoward computations of the interface values for domain decomposition/embedding. • Sensitive testing has been widely employed for many years in connection with the development and evaluation explosives detonation devices and propellants. Perhaps its earliest and possibly most important implementation was in biological studies of dosage mortality and response to drugs. Recently sensitivity experiments has been employed in the evaluation of new materials subject to stress in various environments and in delineanation of unstable combustion regions in chemical propulsion systems. This paper discussed a sta-tistical development of sensitivity testing.

  • We suggest the modified computing algorithm for raking ratio estimation under the assumption that the population total is partially known, and the sample total is completely known about survey variable in contingency table. We show that the proposed estimation procedure is useful to estimate the population cell count in this situation through an empirical study.

  • The Golden Ratio has played a significant role in many parts of geometry, architecture, music, art, and philosophy. This number has been the subject of numerous experiments in psychology. It also appears in the newer domains of technology and fractals, In this paper, we investigate and analyze the golden ratio which appears in art, music, and architecture.

  • In this paper we are concerned with optimal control problems whose costs are quadratic and whose states are governed by linear delay differential equations and general boundary conditions. The basic new idea of this paper is to introduce a new class of linear operators in such a way that the state equation subject to a starting function can be viewed as an inhomogeneous boundary value problem in the new linear operator equation. In this way we avoid the usual semigroup theory treatment to the problem and use only linear operator theory.

  • Tramadol is an opioid analgesic agent that has been the subject of a series of case reports suggesting potential for misuse or abuse. However, it is not a controlled substance and is not generally considered addictive in Korea. In this study, we examined the dependence potential and abuse liability of tramadol as well as its effect on the dopaminergic and serotonergic systems in rodents. In animal behavioral tests, tramadol did not show any positive effects on the experimental animals in climbing, jumping, and head twitch tests. However, in the conditioned place preference and self-administration tests, the experimental animals showed significant positive responses. Taken together, tramadol affected the neurological systems related to abuse liability and has the potential to lead psychological dependence.
