Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of self efficacy, and health related hardiness on a health promoting lifestyle of middle-aged people Method: The study was designed as a descriptive survey study. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire which included general characteristics, measure of self efficacy, health related hardiness, and health promoting lifestyle. Data collection was done between May and August, 2007 with 197 middle-aged participants. Result: The average score of the participants for self efficacy was 34.78, for health related hardiness 57.01 and for a health promoting lifestyle 127.53. There were positive correlations between self efficacy and a health promoting lifestyle, health related hardiness and a health promoting lifestyle, and self efficacy and health related hardiness. The correlations were statistically significant. Health related hardiness was a significant predictors of a health promoting lifestyle. Conclusion: A strategy for improving self efficacy and health related hardiness should be developed and a nursing intervention program should also be provided based on the developed strategy of middle-aged people.
The Main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between lifestyle and clothing buying behavior of college female students in Japan. A questionnaire was developed to measure clothing urchasing motives, fashion information sources, evaluation criteria of clothing, store attribute and lifestyle, The questionnaire was administered to 131 female college students in Tokyo of Japan. the data was analyzed using percentage, frequency, mean, factor analysis, Cluster Analysis and ANOVA, Duncan Multiple Range test. The results of the study were as follows : 1. The female college students were classified into fourth subdivisions by the cluster analysis; rational group, economic group, progressive group, fashion-oriented group. 2. The clothing purchasing motives o consumers were significantly different according to lifestyle subdivision in social, personal. 3. In the case of fshion information sources, significant differences were found according to lifestyle subdivision in mass media information, information by marketer, information by consumer. 4. The evaluation criteria of clothing were significantly different depending on lifestyle subdivision in esthetic, quality and management, external criterion. 5. The store attribute were significantly different depending on lifestyle subdivision in convenience, service and atmosphere of store.
The purpose of this study were to define the degree of performance in health promoting lifestyle and to identify the variable related to performance in health promoting lifestyle of adolescents. The subjects of this study were 469 adolescents in the 4 high schools. The sample data were collected using a purposive sampling method from July 1 to July 27. The collected data were analysed by using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS PC+ program. The results of this research were as follows. First, The means of performance in the health promoting lifestyle of adolescents revealed total 2.478 ; harmonious relationships 3.045, regular diet 2.236, professional health management 1.332, sanitary life 2.910, self regulation 2.558, emotional support 2.696, healthy diet 2.408, rest and sleep 2.651, exercise and activity 2.491, self actualization 2.466, diet control 2.408. The factor with the highest degree of performance was the harmonious relationships, whereas the one with the lowest degrees was the professional health management. Second, the relationship between the degree of performance in health promoting lifestyle and its related variable were as follows. (1) Performance in the health promoting lifestyle was significantly correlated with self esteem, self efficacy, health conception, perceived health status, mother's health promoting lifestyle, mother's health conception. (2) The most important factor that affects performance in the health promoting lifestyle of adolescents was self esteem. The combination of self esteem, health conception, mother's health promoting lifestyle, self efficacy, perceived health status accounted for 45.2% of the variance in health promoting lifestyle of adolescents.
The purpose of this study is to discover similarities and dissimilarities in life style and other factors for housing choices between two generations living in same household. It will provide knowledge that is helpful in understanding the two generations and develop marketing strategies for houses as a commodity that accommodates the life style of both generations. The data of this study were collected from October to November 2003, using a structured, self-report questionnaire that contains questions on 40 dimensions of life style and 33 items on housing choices. The original respondents consisted of 307 university students and their parents living in Seoul. The ages of the younger generation were limited from ぉ to 29. The final participants in this study included 224 sets of university students and their parents, that is, about 448 respondents. Frequency, percentage, factor analysis, paired t-test and means were used for data analysis. The results show that the life style may be divided into nine sub-types. There were generational differences in If-oriented lifestyle, Conservative lifestyle, As- service self-expression lifestyle, Pragmatic lifestyle, Convenience lifestyle, Self-development lifestyle, and Leisure-oriented lifestyle. Especially in the categories of Convenience lifestyle, If-oriented lifestyle and Positive Self-expression lifestyle, the younger generation ranked higher than their parents. The most important factors in housing choice may be divided into eight sub-categories. Among them are economic factors, housing amenities, housing design, distance from parents and children, social and environmental qualifies, and distance from work place and school. The two generations differed over the importance of the factors. The younger generation particularly valued the factors of distance from parents and children, housing amenities, housing design.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors influencing college students' health promotion lifestyle. Methods: The subject was 606 students. Statistical analysis with SPSS used descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and Stepwise Multiple Regression. Results: The average item score for health promotion lifestyle was 2.58. The subscale showing the highest score was interpersonal relationship (3.03), which was followed by spiritual growth (2.94). stress management (2.54), nutrition (2.52), physical activity (2.16) and health responsibility (2.15). There were significant differences according to age, gender, BMI, perceived health state, religion, economic state, live together, major and health promotion lifestyle. The most powerful Predictors of health promotion lifestyle were the prior related behavior (51.8%) and self-efficacy (7.7%). The combination of prior related behavior, perceived self-efficacy, activity-related affect, social support, perceived stress, commitment to a plan of action accounted for 67.9% of the variance of health promotion lifestyle. Conclusion: Prior related behavior was the most powerful variable of health promotion lifestyle. Therefore, health promotion programs for changing and maintaining prior related behavior and increasing self-efficacy should be developed to promote a healthy lifestyle in college students.
The purpose of this study is to examine the fashion lifestyle variable of global consumers and to compare among US, Chinese and EU consumers. The data were collected in US(n=749), China(n=702) and EU(n=1083) from 2008 to 2010. For analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, K-means cluster analysis and chi-square analysis of SPSS 18.0 are used. The research results are as follow: First, it is shown that significant lifestyle factors of global fashion consumers are "adventure seeking", "fashion-oriented", "conspicuous consumption", "leadership", "brand-oriented", and "DIY". As a result of the cluster analysis of lifestyle types, four cross-national market segments are identified. These segments can be labeled as follows: "conservative fashion-oriented group", "passive consumer group", "neutral consumer group", "active fashion-oriented group". Second, findings also reveal that fashion lifestyle segments had meaningful differences between nationality and by year. Third, the US consumers tended to have conservative fashion-oriented lifestyle in 2008, however global consumers were changed to have active fashion lifestyle in 2010. This research will be useful to global brands in planning marketing strategies by offering specific information for global consumer fashion lifestyle.
Purpose - The purpose of this study was to investigate influence relationship among health lifestyle, customer satisfaction, repurchase intention and recommendation intention in the protein beverage market. Design/methodology/approach - This study collected 286 survey data from customers who had experience buying and drinking the protein beverage. The Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and the multiple regression analysis were hired in order to analyze the data. Findings - First, four dimensions of health lifestyle("health confidence," "health sensitivity," "health intention," and "health eating habit") were found to be valid and reliable. Second, all four dimensions of health lifestyle had a positive effect on customer satisfaction. Third, customer satisfaction had a positive effect on repurchase intention. Lastly, customer satisfaction had a positive effect on recommendation intention. Research implications or Originality - This study provided research model among health lifestyle, customer satisfaction, repurchase intention and recommendation. Furthermore, the results of this study were useful for identifying the role of health lifestyle in estimating customer satisfaction and the strategies for strengthening customer satisfaction in the protein beverage market.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing health promoting lifestyle in high school students. Method: The study subjects were 477 high school students. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation and Stepwise Multiple Regression with SPSS statistical program. Results: The average item score for health promoting lifestyle was 2.44. The highest subscale score was self actualization (2.85), while the lowest subscale scores were interpersonal relationship (2.82), nutrition (2.57), exercise (2.56) and health responsibility (1.77). There was a significant difference between gender, sleeping hours, perceived health state, economic state, school performance, father's education, mother's education, living together and health promoting lifestyle. The most powerful predictor of health promoting lifestyle was self-efficacy (29.9%). The combination of self-efficacy, family function, activity-related effect, commitment to a plan of action, situational influences and social support accounted for 55% of the variance in the health promoting lifestyle. Conclusion: Self-efficacy was the most powerful variance of health promoting lifestyle. Therefore, health promoting programs that increase self-efficacy should be developed to promote a healthier lifestyle among high school students.
The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between psychosocial well-bing and health promoting lifestyle practices of university students in Korea. The subjects were 282 students of one university in Chung-ju. The data were analyzed by the SAS program using mean, frequency, t-test, ANOVA and pearson correlation coefficient. The major results were as follows: 1. The average score for psychosocial well-being and health promoting lifestyle practices were low at 55.97, 103.5. In the subcategories of health promoting lifestyle practices, the highest degree of performance was interpersonal support(2.77), and the lowest degree was health responsibility(1.49). 2. There weren't statistically significant differences for the Psychosocial well-being according to sociodemographic variables. The performance of health promoting lifestyle practices was significant different according to gender and school year. 3. The Psychosocial well-being was negatively correlated with health promoting lifestyle practices. Also it was negatively correlated with subscale of health promoting lifestyle practices except health responsibility. So, significant correlation between psychoscial well-bing and self-actualization, exercise, nutrition, interpersonal support, stress management was found. Based upon this results, health promoting behavior will be clues for developing a interventional programs and strategies for the health promoting lifestyle practices in university students
Recently, house demander's needs has diversified in the increasingly by the drastic change in the social environment, changes in family structure and population, the growing interest of living environment. So in the future, housing supply to respond to a variety of housing needs is absolutely necessary to differentiate. The purpose of this study is to analyze the lifestyle types of middle-aged married women with high purchasing power in the current housing market and propose the dwelling style by housing awareness and needs analysis. To collect the data, LOV survey method was used for 528 residents in Seoul and metropolitan area. The data analysis used SPSS PC 14.0 to find the frequency, chi-square, factor analysis, and cluster analysis. The results of analysis are as follows: First, the lifestyle was segmented into four groups such as Conservative goal-achieving lifestyle, Individual self-developing lifestyle, Positive self-trusting lifestyle, Outgoing trend-seeking lifestyle. Second, largely the dwelling style according to lifestyle types was divided into living room-kids room type and living room-kitchen type. Third, there were different preferences on the each type of housing space and the $\alpha$-space by different clusters.
