다전략 수학 문제해결 학습이 초등학생의 수학적 창의성과 수학적 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Mathematical Problem Solving with Multiple Strategies on the Mathematical Creativity and Attitudes of Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 6학년 학생에게 다전략 수학 문제해결 지도 후, 학생들의 수학적 창의성과 수학적 태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 것이다. 본 연구를 위하여 서울시 S초등학교 6학년 학생 49명(실험집단 26명, 비교집단 23명)을 대상으로 19차시의 수업을 진행한 후, 수학적 창의성 및 태도에 대하여 i-STATistics를 사용하여 t-검정을 실시하였다. 연구의 결과 다전략 수학 문제해결 지도를 통한 수학학습은 초등학교 학생들의 수학적 창의성과 그 하위 요소인 유창성, 융통성, 독창성 신장에 효과가 있었다. 또한 다전략 수학 문제해결 지도를 통한 수학학습은 초등학교 학생의 수학적 태도의 하위 요인 중 수학 흥미, 가치, 의지, 효능감 신장에 효과가 있었다. 그리고 다전략 수학 문제해결 지도를 통한 수학학습이 모든 영역에 걸친 수학적 태도의 변화에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 연구자들은 연구 대상의 학년과 인원을 확대한 연구와 심층면담과 같은 질적 연구 방법을 포함한 장기간의 후속 연구를 제안하였다.

중학교 과학수업에서 학습자 특성에 따른 순환학습 모형의 효과 (The Effects of the Learning Cycle Model by Learner's Characteristics in Junior High School)

  • This study examined the effects of the learning cycle model by learner's characteristics such as I.Q., cognitive levels, inquiry skins, cognitive style, activity, reflectiveness. To see the effects of the learning cycle model, nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest multiple treatment designs was used in the study. 99 middle school second-graders(female) were divided into two groups. One group was selected as the experimental group (n=50), the other served at the comparison group(n=49). During the eight-month period, the students in the experimental group were instructed according to the learning cycle model, while the students in the comparison group were instructed according to the traditional instruction methods. Achievement data from science achievement test were analyzed by an ANOVA technique. The results of the study are as follows : 1. Science knowledge achievement. For the lower level students of activity, the learning cycle model is superior to the traditional approaches in science knowledge achievement. 2. Science inquiry skills. For the upper level students of I.Q., cognitive levels, inquiry skills, cognitive style and reflectiveness, the learning cycle model is superior to the traditional approaches in science inquiry skills. 3. Attitudes toward science. For the lower level students of I.Q., cognitive levels, inquiry skills, cognitive style, activity and reflectiveness, the learning cycle model is superior to the traditional approaches in attitudes toward science.

  • Motivation for learning is important for positive learning outcomes as well as for measured achievement levels. When students come to our classes, they bring with them learning histories in which we as individual teachers, most likely, did not have an input. Our students do not only bring with them different levels of prerequisite leanings but also different levels of affect for what they will be learning. If we leave their final learning at the mercy of these entry characteristics, a test given the first day before the course will have almost isomorphic results with their achievement levels on the last day. The ones who had 'it' on the first day will be the ones who in the future will also have 'it', not too different from what the present situation is all over the world. These circumstances will tend to be the case ad infinitum, unless of course, we want to change the situation. This research clearly shows that effective instructional methodologies coupled with cooperative peer interactions not only have an impact on achievement but also on positive attitudes toward one's learning.

  • 본 연구는 고등학교 학생의 수학에 대한 가치 인식 및 흥미를 증진시키는 방안을 모색하는데 일환을 두고 수행되었다. 이와 같은 교육적 목적을 달성하기 위해서는 단편적 교과 지식의 학습 보다는 융합적인 접근을 통해 학생들이 자신의 지식을 적용할 기회가 제공되어야 한다는 주장에 따라 사회와 수학을 융합한 프로그램을 개발하고 그 적용 효과를 파악하고자 하였다. 효과성 검증을 위한 데이터 수집은 일반계 고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 사회 수학 프로그램 적용에 따른 사전 사후 설문을 통해서 이루어졌다. 사회 수학 프로그램은 실생활에서 나타나는 사회적 현상을 수학적 관점에서 문제를 해결하고자 하는 시도로서, 적용 결과 학생들은 수학 학습 및 사회 학습에 대한 태도, 수학 학습 및 사회 학습 가치 인식에 효과적인 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Profile Analysis of Elementary School Students' Smart Device Usage

  • Smart devices have a variety of affordances to foster meaningful learning in elementary school. For the design of smart learning environments, more research is needed to understand students' smart device usage and their perception of learning with smart devices. In order to capture smart device usage profiles among elementary school students in South Korea, this study carried out Latent Profile Analysis with three constructs: information search, communication, and study. Participants (n=253), who ranged from the fourth to the sixth grade students, were classified into three profiles of smart device usage: low-activity, communication, and high-activity groups. The smart device usage profiles varied depending on smartphone usage experience, and the profiles were significantly related with smart device addiction, not with smart device usage ability. Perceptions of smart education were also significantly associated with the profiles. The high-activity group showed more positive attitudes toward smart education than the others, but no significant difference was found in regard to negative attitudes. Based on the findings, this study discussed implications for the use of smart devices in elementary school.

수준별 상호또래교수 활동을 적용한 수업이 수학학업성취도 및 수학적 태도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Instruction with Leveled Reciprocal Peer Tutoring Activities on Academic Achievement and Math Attitudes )

  • 본 연구의 필요성은 수준별 상호또래교수를 통하여 수학학업성취도 및 수학적 태도를 신장시키는 것이며 구체적인 목적은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상호또래교수를 위해 단원마다 수준별 수업을 하는데 필요한 학습 방안과 내용의 선정을 모색하고 둘째, 교육과정 분석을 통하여 학습 지도 활용에 필요한 수준별 활동지를 개발하며 셋째, 수준별 상호또래교수 활동을 적용한 수업을 통해 수학학업성취도 및 수학적 태도를 신장시킨다. 연구 대상을 00광역시 00인문계 고등학교 2학년 60명으로 하였다. 2학년 1학기 중간고사 성적으로 평균이 매우 유사한 2개 학급을 선정하였다. 1반을 실험군 다른 1반을 비교군 으로 나누어 2020년 5월 1일부터 7월 4일 까지 13차시 수업을 실시하였고 학습량은 같이 하였다. 실험군(30명)은 수준별 상호또래교수 활동을 적용하여 수업한 반이고 비교군(30명)은 전통적인 교과서와 교사용 지도서를 중심으로 하여 수업을 한 반이다. 본 연구의 결과로서 첫째, 본 연구에서는 단원에 따른 학습 내용을 설정하고 수준별 상호또래교수 활동을 적용한 수업으로 수학학업성취도와 수학적 태도를 증진시킬 수 있었다. 둘째, 수준별 상호또래교수 활동을 적용하여 수업한 실험군은 상위군, 중위군, 하위군 학생들에게 전통적인 교과서와 교사용 지도서를 중심으로 하여 수업한 비교군과 비교하여 보면 수학학업성취도와 수학적 태도에 효과가 있었다. 셋째, 수준별 상호또래교수 활동을 적용한 수업에서는 하위군 학생들도 수업에 흥미를 가지게 되어 수학학업성취도에 향상을 보였다.

프로젝트 접근법을 통한 학습지도가 초등학생의 과학적 지식과 과학적 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of the Project Approach on Scientific Knowledge and Attitudes of Elementary School Students)

  • This study investigated the effects of the project approach in science teaching on scientific knowledge and attitudes, science related attitudes of the 6th grade students. Students engaged in the study were divided into comparison group and experimental group. The project approach was applied to the experimental group with various activities while the traditional teaching method was applied to the comparison group with science text book and teacher's guidebook. The data were statistically analysed by SPSS WIN 8.0. The results are as follows: The students of the project approach in science teaching made significant progress in scientific knowledge and attitudes, science related attitudes (p<.05). The students in the project approach was more effective in improvement of curiosity, critical thinking, positive thinking than the traditional teaching method. And the project approach was good for causing interest and helping student's science learning.

Acceptance and Effectiveness of Distance Learning in Public Education in Saudi Arabia During Covid19 Pandemic: Perspectives from Students, Teachers and Parents

  • The movement control order and shutting down educational institution in Saudi Arabia has jeopardized the teaching and learning process. Education was shifted to distance learning in order to avoid any academic loss. In the middle of the Covid-19 crisis, there is a need to assess the full image of e-learning in Saudi Arabia. To investigate student and teachers' perception and acceptance, parents' attitudes and believes about distance education are the main goals of the study. The mix-method research design was employed to collect data. Three surveys were distributed to 100 students and 50 teachers and 50 parents from different educational institutions in Saudi Arabia, while semi-structured interviews were conducted with 10 parents. Random stratified and convenient sampling methods were adopted. Both descriptive and content analysis was conducted using SPSS25.0 and NVIVO software for quantitative and qualitative data accordingly. The findings showed that students are comfortable with remote education and are receiving enough support from schools and instructors but they think online education can't replace conventional face-to-face learning. Moreover, the results showed that teachers are having challenges in preparing online classes because of the development of conducting online classes and the lack of training. However, parents showed negative attitudes regarding the benefits and values of remote education and preferred conventional learning styles in elementary schools. Parents tended to reject and resist distance learning for several reasons: professional knowledge and lack of time to support their young kids in online classes, the shortcomings of e-learning, young children's inadequate self-regulation. Saudi parents are neither trained nor ready to use e-learning. The study provided suggestion and implications for teacher education and policymakers.

다양한 표상활동 중심 분수학습이 분수의 이해 및 수학적 태도에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of the Fraction Comprehension and Mathematical Attitude in Fraction Learning Centered on Various Representation Activities)

  • 본 연구는 다양한 표상활동을 중심으로 한 분수학습이 분수의 이해 및 수학적 태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 것으로서 서울 소재 B초등학교 4학년 33명 전체학생을 대상으로 실시하였다. 활동적, 영상적, 상징적 표상활동으로 이루어진 분수학습을 6주간 15차시에 걸쳐 진행한 결과 관계적 이해에 도달한 학생들의 비율이 증가하였으며, 분수 학업성취도 검사 I, II, III에서 평균 90점 가까이 또는 그 이상의 높은 성취도를 보였다. 수학적 태도 변화를 알아보기 위해서 두 종속표본 t검정을 실시한 결과, 유의수준 .01에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 다양한 표상활동 중심의 분수학습은 학생들의 관계적 이해도와 분수 이해력을 향상시키고, 학생들의 학습지향성, 자기통제, 흥미, 가치인식, 자신감을 높이며, 불안감을 감소시키는 등의 수학적 태도면에서도 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다고 할 수 있다.

문제중심학습을 적용한 치위생 교육 경험 연구 -학습태도, 학생평가 중심으로- (A study of problem based learning (PBL) experience in dental hygiene education - learning attitude, student assessment -)

  • Objectives : This study was application problem-based learning(PBL) of performance oral health manage in dental hygiene education. and evaluate on learning effect - learning attitude, student assessment(good or bed). Methods : For this study, we sampled 31 dental hygiene students composed of PBL group, Dept of Dental Hygiene, A college. The period of this study was 1 semester(from september, 2008 to December, 2008). To identify the effect of PBL on learning attitudes, student assessment, we used a t-test and compared pre & post effects of PBL using a paired t-test and General Linear Model(GLM), McNemar test. Results : The results of this study that problem based learning(PBL) for dental hygiene students education was more effective in learning process and effect of PBL rather than direct instruction. students assessment results that problem based learning improves their medicine knowledge and communication. Conclusions : This study suggest that PBL contribute to enhancing learning attitudes, learning effect and solve the real problems through self-directed learning.
