한국인의 자기 인식에 나타난 토착문화심리 분석 (Conception of Self in Korea: Indigenous, Cultural and Psychological Analysis)

  • 이 연구의 주된 목적은 한국인의 자기 인식에 나타난 토착문화심리를 탐구하는데 있다. 이를 위해 크게 네 측면, 즉 개인으로서의 자기 인식(보통 때의 나, 독특한 개인으로서의 나, 혼자 있을 때의 나), 가족과 함께 있을 때 자기 인식(아버지, 어머니, 자녀, 배우자와 함께 있을 때의 나), 주위사람과 함께 있을 때 자기 인식(친한 친구, 선생님, 직장 상사, 부하 직원과 함께 있을 때의 나), 타인과 함께 있을 때의 자기 인식(낯선 사람, 외국인과 함께 있을 때의 나)을 분석하였다. 분석대상은 1,465명(초 중 고 대학생 623명, 성인 842명)이었으며, 연구자에 의해 제작된 자유반응형 질문지를 사용하였다. 분석 결과, 한국인의 자기 인식에 나타난 토착심리로서 두 가지 측면이 부각되었다. 첫째는 자기에 대한 인식에서 관계 내 역할의 중요성이었으며, 둘째는 관계 맥락 속에서 유동성있게 변하는 자기의 특징이었다. 이를 토대로 개별적 자기와 관계적 자기의 차원 및 자기의 일관성과 유동성 차원에 대해 논의하였다.

남녀대학생의 가족개념, 가족주의가치관이 가족건강성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Family Concept and Familism on Family Strengths among University Students)

  • This study investigated trends in university students' acceptance of family diversity, familism, family strengths. Participants in this study were 388 university students (193 male, 195 female). The major findings were as follows: Respondents' recognition of family concept is modified from traditional family notion to modern conception. The general trends regarding the level of familism showed that males' level was higher than females'. The respondents' family strength was influenced by a blood permanency of father, family priority, reverence for parent and the tie that bind child, functional perceptions of family. The most important variable in terms of influence on university students' family strength was that of familism. These results implied that the familism was partly influential to family strengths.

  • This paper analysed gifted middle students' conception of the definitions of point and line and the uses of definitions in proving. The findings of this paper suggest that the concept of mathematical definitions is very unnatural to students, therefore teachers and textbooks need to explain explicitly the characteristics of mathematical definitions which are different from dictionary definitions using common sense. Also introducing undefined terms in middle school geometry would give students a critical chance to deal with the transition from dictionary definitions to mathematical definitions.

  • What strategies are used to help students understand quadratic functions in mathematics classroom? In specific, how does Chinese teacher highlight a connection between algebraic representation and graphic representation? From October to November 2009, an experienced teacher classroom was observed. It was found that when students started learning a new type of quadratic function in lessons, the teacher used two different teaching strategies for their learning: (1) Eliciting students to plot the graphs of quadratic functions with pointwise approaches, and then construct the function image in their minds with global approaches; and (2) Presenting a specific mathematical problem, or introducing conception to elicit students to conjecture, and then encouraging them to verify it with appoint approaches.

초등 수학영재와 일반학생의 정의적 특성과 수학적 추론 능력과의 관계 비교 (A Comparison on the Relations between Affective Characteristics and Mathematical Reasoning Ability of Elementary Mathematically Gifted Students and Non-gifted Students)

  • 본 연구는 초등 수학영재와 일반학생을 대상으로 정의적 특성과 수학적 추론 능력에서 어떠한 차이가 있는가를 알아보고, 이를 바탕으로 초등 수학영재와 일반학생의 정의적 특성과 수학적 추론 능력과의 관계를 비교 분석하는 것이다. 연구대상은 5학년의 영재 97명과 일반학생 144명이다. 검사도구로는 정의적 특성 검사지와 추론능력 검사지를 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수학영재는 일반학생보다 정의적 특성의 하위 요소인 학업적 자아개념, 태도, 흥미, 수학불안, 학습습관에서 모두 긍정적인 인식을 지녔고, 수학적 추론 능력에서도 일반학생보다 능력의 정도가 높았다. 또한 수학영재는 정의적 특성의 학업적 자아개념, 태도, 흥미, 학습습관은 추론 능력과 정적인 상관관계를 가지고 있었으며 수학불안은 부적인 상관관계를 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 수학영재는 정의적 특성의 하위 요소 중 수학불안이 수학적 추론 능력에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는데, 이를 통해 수학 영재들의 추론 능력을 향상시키기 위해서는 수학 불안을 줄이는 실질적인 여러 방안을 모색할 필요가 있음을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 일반학생들은 정의적 특성의 하위 요소 중 흥미가 수학적 추론 능력에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났는데, 따라서 교실 수업에서 일반학생들의 수학교과에 대한 흥미를 높여주는 적절한 방법에 대한 교수 학습 구안 및 적용을 통해 수학적 추론 능력의 향상을 도모할 수 있다.

반증-실험 모형을 이용한 '계절 변화의 원인'에 대한 초등 예비 교사의 개념 변화 분석 (The Analysis of Conception Changes of Pre-Service Elementary Teachers for 'Causes of Season Change' with Disproof-Experiment Model)

  • This study is to ascertain pre-service teachers' conceptions for the causes of season change, to verify their conceptional mistakes, and to analyze how their conceptions are changed while presenting Disproof-Experiment Model where they cannot explain it with their current conceptions. 32 junior students of Education universities, pre-service elementary teachers, located at the middle of Korea participated in this research including two interviews and one experiment activity. As a result of analyzing of the data, the pre-service teachers held diverse conceptions for the causes of season change such as to mistake the phenomena, the distance between the earth and the sun, the tilting of the rotation axis and the revolving around the sun while changing the tilting direction of the rotation axis as the cause. After applying Disproof-Experiment Model designed by the researchers in order to change the current conception above, the conception changes of the pre-service teachers were investigated. Diverse Disproof-Experiment Models were used differently depending on the pre-service teachers' conceptions. As a result of the application of Disproof-Experiment Model, 26 out of 28 pre-service teachers were changed to scientific conceptions. It was determined that in order to modify pre-service teachers' conceptions, designing and presenting the Disproof-Experiment Model appropriate to their conceptions are effective after analyzing their conceptions. In case of conceptions that pre-service teachers feel difficult, it was established that unraveling experiment models prescribed after investigating the preconceptions and identifying the misconceptions are important.

전기와 자기 개념간의 근접도에 대한 초등학생의 학년별 변화 (Elementary School Students' Psychological Proximity of Electricity and Magnetism Concepts)

  • Elementary science curriculum is designed to be closely-related magnetism with electricity in a physics domain and this paper explored whether elementary school students have recognized of relationships between them and whether there are any trends in the degree of recognition by grades. The elementary students of 3rd to 6th grade (total 154 persons) in a school in a local city participated in the experiment. Two forms of questionnaire were administrated to each grades. In the first questionnaire about magnetism, students were asked to rank the physics terms as the degree of proximity into magnetism and to write briefly the reason. In the second questionnaire about electricity, students were asked to do the same routine. The closer to the central term in the diagram, the lower score were given and the terms were classified as closely related to magnetism, electricity and the rest. Calculated the response frequency and averaged by the ranked terms, it was examined that the scores of proximity in how students closely rated conception to magnetism and electricity. The result said that the upper grades students showed the degree of proximity with magnetism and electricity as closely. Therefore, the sequence of comprehension of magnetism and electricity concept, which was found in the elementary school curriculum, seems to be found in the elementary students' recognitions by grades.

초등학교 학생들의 과학 선다형 문항 풀이 과정에서의 오류 분석 (An Analysis of Elementary Student s Errors in Solving the Science Multiple Choice Items)

  • Multiple choice items have been widely used. However the difficulties in understanding and solving the items have not been known well. The purpose of this study is to analyze the difficulties and errors in the process of solving multiple choice items. Twelve multiple choice items were developed based on the Unit 5 Separation of Mixtures in the 4th grade. Four items which students had hardly given the correct answer were selected and six students were chosen for interview. Interview results were analyzed with regard to the errors in the process of solving the multiple choice items. The findings of this study are as follows: I) The students who misread and misunderstand the questions choose the incorrect answers. 2) Most of the students activate daily knowledge in the process of problem solving. 3) The students who have misconception with the daily knowledge or have no experiences choose incorrect answers, while students who activate both daily knowledge and school knowledge choose correct answer. 4) The students of high level commit errors mainly in the latter part of problem solving process, but the students of low level do from early.

Changing Students' Conceptions of Mathematics through the Introduction of Variation

  • Some 400 Secondary One (i.e. seventh-grade) students from 10 schools were provided with non-routine mathematical problems in their normal mathematics classes as exercises for one academic year. Their attitudes toward mathematics, their conceptions of mathematics and their problem-solving performance were measured both in the beginning and at the end of the year. Hierarchical regression analyses revealed that the introduction of an appropriate dose of non-routine problems would generate some effects on the students' conceptions of mathematics. A medium dose of non-routine problems (as reported by the teachers) would result in a change of the students' conception of mathematics to perceiving mathematics as less of "a subject of calculables." On the other hand, a high dose would lead students to perceive mathematics as more useful and more as a discipline involving thinking. However, with a low dose of non-routine problems, students found mathematics more "friendly" (free from fear). It is therefore proposed that the use of non-routine mathematical problems to an appropriate extent can induce changes in students' "lived space" of mathematics learning and broaden their conceptions of mathematics and mathematics learning.

시각장애 중고등학생의 물의 상태변화 개념에 대한 사례 연구 (A Case Study on the Visually Impaired Secondary Students' Conception of the Changes of State of Water)

  • 이 연구에서는 시각장애를 가진 중고등학생의 물의 상태변화 개념을 조사하였다. 연구대상은 국립과천과학관에서 열린 시각장애학생 대상의 과학탐구 활동에 참여한 중학생 16명과 고등학생 15명으로, 이 중 14명은 전맹, 13명은 저시력이었으며 나머지는 파악되지 않았다. 탐구활동은 이 연구를 위해 제작한 물과 얼음의 분자모형을 참여 학생들에게 개별적으로 탐색하면서 연구자와 대화하는 방식으로 진행하였다. 학생들이 모형에 대한 탐색을 마친 후 물의 상태변화 개념과 관련지어 설명하도록 하였으며, 모형의 활용 가능성에 대해서도 면담을 실시하였다. 모든 대화는 녹음되었고 그 자료를 전사한 뒤 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 시각장애학생들은 활동에 사용된 모형의 재료와 개수에 대해서는 정확히 대답하였지만 무엇을 표현한 모형인지 설명하기 어려워하였다. 물의 분자와 상태변화에 대해 배운 경험이 있다고 대답하였으나 그 개념에 대해 제대로 설명하지 못하거나 현상적인 경험에 기초한 수준에 불과했다. 활동을 통해 시각장애학생들은 물과 얼음의 분자구조와 상태변화에 대해 이해하게 되었고, 연구에서 사용된 모형이 필요하며 유용하다고 긍정적으로 인식하였다. 이러한 결과에 기초하여 교육학적 함의를 논의하였다.
