Axial compression performance of basalt-fiber-reinforced recycled-concrete-filled square steel tubular stub column

  • This study aimed to inspect the axial compression mechanical performance of basalt-fiber-reinforced recycled - concrete (BFRRC)-filled square steel tubular stub column. The replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) and the basalt fiber (BF) dosage were used as variation parameters, and the axial compression performance tests of 15 BFRRC-filled square steel tubular stub column specimens were conducted. The failure mode and the load-displacement/strain curve of the specimen were measured. The working process of the BFRRC-filled square steel tubular stub column was divided into three stages, namely, elastic-elastoplasticity, sudden drawdown, and plasticity. The influence of the design parameters on the peak bearing capacity, energy dissipation performance, and other axial compression performance indexes was discussed. A mathematical model of segmental stiffness degradation was proposed on the basis of the degradation law of combined secant-stiffness under axial compression. The full-process curve equation of axial compressive stress-strain was proposed by introducing the influencing factors, including the RCA replacement ratio and the BF dosage, and the calculated curve agreed well with the test-measured curve.

  • The present study focuses on the mechanical behaviour of concrete filled double skin steel tubular (CFDST) stub columns confined by fiber reinforced polymer (FRP). A series of axial compression tests have been conducted on two CFDST stub columns, eight CFDST stub columns confined by FRP and a concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) stub column confined by FRP, respectively. The influences of hollow section ratio, FRP wall thickness and fibre longitudinal-circumferential proportion on the load-strain curve and the concrete stress-strain curve for stub columns with annular section were discussed. The test results displayed that the FRP jacket can obviously enhance the carrying capacity of stub columns. Based on the test results, a new model which includes the effects of confinement factor, hollow section ratio and lateral confining pressure of the outer steel tube was proposed to calculate the compressive strength of confined concrete. Using the present concrete strength model, the formula to predict the carrying capacity of CFDST stub columns confined by FRP was derived. The theoretically predicted results agree well with those obtained from the experiments and FE analysis. The present method is also adapted to calculate the carrying capacity of CFST stub columns confined by FRP.

Mechanical performance of sand-lightweight concrete-filled steel tube stub column under axial compression

  • In order to study the axial compression performance of sand-lightweight concrete-filled steel tube (SLCFST) stub columns, three circular SLCFST (C-SLCFST) stub column specimens and three SLCFST square (S-SLCFST) stub column specimens were fabricated and static monotonic axial compression performance testing was carried out, using the volume ratio between river sand and ceramic sand in sand-lightweight concrete (SLC) as a varying parameter. The stress process and failure mode of the specimens were observed, stress-strain curves were obtained and analysed for the specimens, and the ultimate bearing capacity of SLCFST stub column specimens was calculated based on unified strength theory, limit equilibrium theory and superposition theory. The results show that the outer steel tubes of SLCFST stub columns buckled outward, core SLC was crushed, and the damage to the upper parts of the S-SLCFST stub columns was more serious than for C-SLCFST stub columns. Three stages can be identified in the stress-strain curves of SLCFST stub columns: an elastic stage, an elastic-plastic stage and a plastic stage. It is suggested that AIJ-1997, CECS 159:2004 or AIJ-1997, based on superposition theory, can be used to design the ultimate bearing capacity under axial compression for C-SLCFST and S-SLCFST stub columns; for varying replacement ratios of natural river sand, the calculated stress-strain curves for SLCFST stub columns under axial compression show good fitting to the test measure curves.

중심압축력을 받는 일반구조용 강관의 구조성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Structural Property of Structural Steel Tubes under Axial Compression)

  • 현재 국내에 유통되고 있는 강관은 국내산과 수입산이 혼용되고 있으며, 수입산 강관은 가격경쟁 면에서 그 수요가 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 국내에 유통되고 있는 일반구조용 원형강관 및 비계용 강관에 대하여 소재의 인장시험과 Stub -column 압축시험 및 기둥의 좌굴실험을 통하여 일반구조용 강관의 기계적 성질과 기둥의 강도 및 거동을 파악하고자 한다. 또한 한계상태설계법의 기준식과 복수강도곡선의 적용으로 이론값과 실험값을 비교하여 기계적 요구 성능 및 적합성 여부를 조사하고, 설계기준에 대한 기초자료를 확보하고자 한다. 단주압축 실험결과 관경두께비를 만족하는 시험체의 경우에는 최대내력에 도달한 후 서서히 내력이 저하되는 결과를 나타내었다. 기둥좌굴 실험결과, 최대내력은 일정한 좌굴내력 범위를 나타내었으며 전반적으로 한계상태설계법의 기준곡선에 만족하는 결과를 나타내었다.

Experimental and finite element analyses of eccentric compression of basalt-fiber reinforced recycled aggregate concrete-filled circular steel tubular stub column

  • To study the eccentric compressive performance of the basalt-fiber reinforced recycled aggregate concrete (BFRRAC)-filled circular steel tubular stub column, 8 specimens with different replacement ratios of recycled coarse aggregate (RCA), basalt fiber (BF) dosage, strength grade of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) and eccentricity were tested under eccentric static loading. The failure mode of the specimens was observed, and the relationship curves during the entire loading process were obtained. Further, the load-lateral displacement curve was simulated and verified. The influence of the different parameters on the peak bearing capacity of the specimens was analyzed, and the finite element analysis model was established under eccentric compression. Further, the design-calculation method of the eccentric bearing capacity for the specimens was suggested. It was observed that the strength failure is the ultimate point during the eccentric compression of the BFRRAC-filled circular steel tubular stub column. The shape of the load-lateral deflection curves of all specimens was similar. After the peak load was reached, the lateral deflection in the column was rapidly increased. The peak bearing capacity decreased on enhancing the replacement ratio or eccentric distance, while the core RAC strength exhibited the opposite behavior. The ultimate bearing capacity of the BFRRAC-filled circular steel tubular stub column under eccentric compression calculated based on the limit analysis theory was in good agreement with the experimental values. Further, the finite element model of the eccentric compression of the BFRRAC-filled circular steel tubular stub column could effectively analyze the eccentric mechanical properties.

공간구조에 적용되는 일반구조용 강관의 압축내력에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Compression Strength of Structural Steel Tube Applied in Spatial Structure)

  • 국민소득수준의 향상에 따라 국내 건축물의 디자인 및 사용목적의 대한 다양성이 요구되고 있다. 대공간 구조물은 이러한 시대적 요구에 적합한 구조물로서 최근 대공간 구조물에 대한 설계 및 시공법에 관한 관심이 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 트러스구조는 대공간 구조에 보편적으로 사용되는 구조시스템으로 트러스의 부재는 단면의 효율이 높은 강관을 사용하는 것이 일반적이다. 현재 국내에 유통되고 있는 강관은 생산처에 따라 다양한 제품이 생산되고 있으나 강관 소재의 출처 및 강관 자체의 실제 성능에 관한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 이 연구는 국내에 유통되고 있는 일반구조용 각형강관, 원형강관 및 비계용 강관에 대하여 소재의 인장시험과 Stub-column 압축시험 및 기둥의 좌굴실험을 통해 강관의 소재성능 및 구조부재로서의 압축성능을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 소재시험결과, 구입처 구분 및 단면형상에 따른 강관 소재성능의 편차가 확인되었다. 기둥좌굴 실험결과, 각 실험체의 압축내력은 LSD 기준곡선에 만족하는 결과를 나타내었으며, SSRC 곡선1, ECCS-a곡선에 상회하는 결과를 나타내었다.

Ductility analysis of bolted extended end plate beam-to-column connections in the framework of the component method

  • The rotational behaviour of bolted extended end plate beam-to-column connections is evaluated in the context of the component method. The full moment-rotation response is characterized from the force-deformation curve of the individual joint components. The deformability of end plate connections is mostly governed by the bending of the column flange and/or end plate and tension elongation of the bolts. These components form the tension zone of the joint that can be modelled by means of "equivalent T-stubs". A systematic analytical procedure for characterization of the monotonic force-deformation behaviour of individual T-stub connections is proposed. In the framework of the component method, the T-stub is then inserted in the joint spring model to generate the moment-rotation response of the joint. The procedures are validated with the results from an experimental investigation of eight statically loaded extended end plate bolted moment connections carried out at the Delft University of Technology. Because ductility is such an important property in terms of joint performance, particularly in the partial strength joint scenario, special attention is given to this issue.

Design of the Novel DVB-H Antenna for the Folder-Type Mobile Handheld Terminal

  • We have proposed a novel DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcast for Handheld) antenna for folder-type mobile handheld terminal by using a coupling element, a stub, and an L-type matching circuit. The L-type matching circuit consisting of two chip inductors is used for achieving an improved impedance matching over the DVB-H frequency band ($470{\sim}702\;MHz$). Simulated results showed the stub worked to more knot the lower and upper frequency ends of the input impedance curve. The antenna exhibits a flat gain characteristic from 2 to 2.8 dBi over the DVB-H frequency band. The radiation patterns are a stable Figure-of-eight radiation pattern in the frequency range.

  • 본 논문은 관통형 고력볼트를 사용한 엔드플레이트형식 콘크리트 충전 각형 강관 기둥 H형강 보 접합부에 대한 단조가력하에서의 실험적 연구이다. 본 실험의 목적은 전회(前回)에서는 파악되지 않았던 엔드플레이트의 두께와 볼트의 배열에 대한 영향을 정확하게 평가하는데 있다. 실험의 주요변수는 엔드플레이트의 두께(12mm, 16mm)와 볼트의 배열 (EP1, EP2, EP3)이다. 변수에 따른 실험결과를 비교, 분석하였다. 1)실험체는 Bjorhovde와 EC3의 분류법에 의해 분류하였다. 2)T-stub모델에 근거한 접합부의 최대 모멘트 예측식에 의해 계산된 이론치$(_tM_u)$는 실험치$(_eM_u)$에 잘 대응하였다.

결함 접지 구조를 이용한 새로운 5-단 저역 통과 여파기 (A New Type of 5-Pole Low Pass Filter Using Defected Ground Structure)

  • 본 논문에서는 결함 접지 구조(Defected Ground Structure, DGS)를 이용하여 설계한, 전송 선로의 폭이 매우 넓어진 새로운 형태의 5-단 저역 통과 여파기(5-pole Low Pass Filters, LPF)를 제시한다. 이를 위하여 종래에 제시 되었던 3-단 DGS LPF설계 방법을 임의의 N-단 LPF설계에도 적용할 수 있도록 일반화 시키고$(N\geq5)$, 한 예로써 5-단 LPF를 설계 및 측정 결과가 제시된다. LPF원형 회로로부터 필요한 소자값들을 갖는 서로 다른 크기의 DGS를 결정하기 위하여, 매우 정확한 인덕턴스 값을 예측해 주는 곡선 맞춤(curve-fitting) 방법도 제시되었다. 제안하는 5-단 LPF는 병렬 캐패시턴스 구현을 위해 개방 스터브 대신 선폭이 크게 보상된 낮은 임피던스의 전송 선로를 갖는다. 따라서 개방 스터브를 사용할 때 필수적으로 요구되는 T-나 Cross-불연속 접합 소자가 없고, 또한 기존의 LPF에서 직렬 인덕턴스 때문에 필요했던 높은 임피던스 전송 선로가 없다.
