  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the structural relationship among emotional labor and work performance of information security professionals. To this end, we conducted a questionnaire survey on 176 security workers and analyzed the collected data using structural equation modeling (SEM). It was found that the frequency of emotional display was positively related to deep acting and surface acting. Also, the intensity and variety of emotional display was positively related to deep acting and surface acting. In addition, deep acting had a positive relationship with work performance and surface acting had an significantly positive relationship with work performance. The results of this study are meaningful to understand the influence of the emotional aspect of security workers on work performance. Therefore, the overall findings suggest that the training programs and education for the improvement of emotional labor capacity of deep acting are continuously required.

  • Shortening the construction duration of structural frame work is extremely important because the work accounts for a major percentage of all cost and duration in large projects. For this reason, new construction methods to reduce the duration of structural frame work are being continuously studied and developed. A PSRC composite column, which uses steel angles instead of H-beams, has the advantages of flexural strength and ductility. Moreover, with this PSRC technique, conventional work for reinforcing bars in columns in practice can be skipped. However, one limitation exists in which the form work is still required. This research proposes a Form-LPSRC column method that is prefabricated with the column frame that includes permanent forms attached. Feasibility was examined with mock-up specimens and finally, the technique applied to real practice. Compared to the conventional SRC column method, this study demonstrated that the proposed technique has many advantages in construction duration, cost, quality, safety and environment.

  • This study quantitatively analyzed the effects of self-efficacy in the workplace on job-stress and work-life balance (WLB) using a structural equation model (SEM) to seek ways to increase the WLB. Because the current government promotes the 52-hour weekly policy, WLB that refers to the balance between work and life that is used throughout society. In addition, self-efficacy, which was used mainly in the home and education system, has expanded its scope of application, and efforts to increase it in the workplace are working as demand for the times. The observation variables to be included in the SEM were collected from a questionnaire of 5,454 adults, and AMOS 21 was used for statistical analysis. As a result of the analysis, self-efficacy in the workplace has a negative correlation with stress, and a higher self-efficacy means a higher WLB. The results of this study did not show that the more workers are passionate about their work in the workplace due to work-oriented thinking and behavior rather than home had a lower WLB. In addition, these results can be used to analyze the WLB policy in the ROK Army.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to construct and test a structural equation model of quality of work life for clinical nurses based on Peterson and Wilson's Culture-Work-Health model (CWHM). Methods: A structured questionnaire was completed by 523 clinical nurses to analyze the relationships between concepts of CWHM-organizational culture, social support, employee health, organizational health, and quality of work life. Among these conceptual variables of CWHM, employee health was measured by perceived health status, and organizational health was measured by presenteeism. SPSS21.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs were used to analyze the efficiency of the hypothesized model and calculate the direct and indirect effects of factors affecting quality of work life among clinical nurses. Results: The goodness-of-fit statistics of the final modified hypothetical model are as follows: ${\chi}^2=586.03$, ${\chi}^2/df=4.19$, GFI=.89, AGFI=.85, CFI=.91, TLI=.90, NFI=.89, and RMSEA=.08. The results revealed that organizational culture, social support, organizational health, and employee health accounted for 69% of clinical nurses' quality of work life. Conclusion: The major findings of this study indicate that it is essential to create a positive organizational culture and provide adequate organizational support to maintain a balance between the health of clinical nurses and the organization. Further repeated and expanded studies are needed to explore the multidimensional aspects of clinical nurses' quality of work life in Korea, including various factors, such as work environment, work stress, and burnout.

  • Recently, the structural design code has been changed and every buildings, which have more than three floors or wider area than 1,000m2, should be designed to be able to resist earthquakes. However, most structural engineers are working in some big cities and this physical distance would set a barrier between structural engineers and architects. As a result, most row-rise buildings in small cities are designed and constructed without structural design or the consulting by structural engineers. The purpose of this research is to develop an web-based structural design environment in which structural design and consulting can be performed efficiently through on-line communication without off-line meetings or documents. In addition to the on-line communication, the system has a integrated structural design module which supports all the process of structural design and can increases the productivity of structural design work.

  • This study analyzed and investigated of positivism to set up a hypothesis with a model of study based on a theoretical consideration to analyze a structural empowerment, a psychological empowerment, an immersion of duty, and a devotion of organization. which made the dental hygienists an object of study of investigation and analyzation in order to understand relation to elements that have an effect on a business result, effect and degree in a dental hygienist's organization. The results of positive analysis in the study are as follows. A psychological empowerment is influenced by a level of satisfaction for their duty, educational level, and types of main duty. A structural empowerment is influenced by a level of satisfaction for their duty, total years of work, a level of salary, type of work place. Organizational devotion is influenced by the structural empowerment, total year of work, type of workplace, and a level of satisfaction for their duty. Devotion for their duty is influenced by the psychological empowerment, total year of work, type of main duty, main duty that they want in the future, and specialization for amin duty.

  • The purpose of this study is to deduct the structural damage / work process risks factors which can be occurred during the decommissioning in the NPP containment concrete structure. To achieve these purpose, risk profile specified in the construction industry is analyzed, and the work process of NPP decommissioning and the construction project were matched based on the similarity of each works. Accordingly, human and physical risk factors are classified. Finally, the risk associated with the building structure and work process was classified as per their process activities, and risk typology explaining the disaster which put the structure, equipments, machine and workers in serious danger was developed.

  • In this work, a structural design on horizontal axis wind turbine blade using natural flax fiber composite is performed. The structural design results of flax/epoxy composite blade are compared with the design results of glass/epoxy composite blade. In order to evaluate the structural design of the composite blade, the structural analysis was performed by the finite element method. Through the structural analyses, it is confirmed that the designed blade using natural composite is acceptable for structural safety, blade tip deflection, structural stability, resonance possibility, and weight. Finally, structural test of manufactured blade was performed. Through the structural test, it is confirmed that the designed blade is acceptable.

  • In this work, the structural integrity was investigated of the structural design results of internal components for the aircraft engine. The radiator and intercooler were combined with the internal components of the engine. Therefore, the safety of the radiator and intercooler was investigated during flight conditions. The structural integrity was evaluated through structural analysis, using the finite element analysis method. The acceleration load for structural design and analysis was considered. The structural safety evaluation found the structural design results to be valid.
