N-Nitrosamines have been known to be strong carcinogens and are formed by the reaction of nitrous acid with amines. In this experiment the changes in the contents of nitrate nitrite trimethylaminoxide(TMAO) trimethylamine(TMA) and dimethylamine(DMA) during femen-tation of damsel fish were analyzed periodically and N-nitrosamines in a commercial products. N-Nitrosamines were determined by mineral oil distillation methods using gas chromatography-thermal energy anlyzer(GC-TEA) in a commerical product. Nitrate nitrite and amines were quantitate by colorimetric methods. Level of nitrate-N were gradually decreased but nitrite-n was not detected or trace. Contents of dimethlamine(DMA) and trimethlamine were mar-kedly increased while trimethylaminoxide nitrogen was decreased during the fermentation of damsel fish. The change of pH was in the ranges of 5,5-7.0 during fermentation of salted damsel fish. It was out of the optimum pH(3.0-3.4) for the formation of nitrosamine. N-Nitrosamines were not detected in salt-fermented damsel fist but much N-nitrosodimethyla-mine(NDMA) could be detected in salt-fermented damsel fish after adding 0.05M NaNo2 in the acidic condition. The identifaction of NDMA in it was confirmed by mass spectrophotometry. Nitrate decrea-sed during the fermentation of damsel fish. however nitrite was trace level and nitrosamines were not formed in its. This could be supposed that it was due to the rapid consumption of nitrite by amino acid and bacteria.
Leaf area index (LAI) is important in explaining the ability of crops to intercept solar energy for biomass production, amount of plant transpiration, and in understanding the impact of crop management practices on crop growth. This paper describes a procedure for estimating LAI as a function of image-derived vegetation indices from temporal series of RapidEye imagery obtained from 2010 to 2012 using empirical models in a rice plain in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do. Rice plants were sampled every two weeks to investigate LAI, fresh and dry biomass from late May to early October. RapidEye images were taken from June to September every year and corrected geometrically and atmospherically to calculate normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI). Linear, exponential, and expolinear models were developed to relate temporal satellite NDVIs to measured LAI. The expolinear model provided more accurate results to predict LAI than linear or exponential models based on root mean square error. The LAI distribution was in strong agreement with the field measurements in terms of geographical variation and relative numerical values when RapidEye imagery was applied to expolinear model. The spatial trend of LAI corresponded with the variation in the vegetation growth condition.
In this study, injection flow rates and material of the solenoid sealing of the injectors were improved for the development of a di-methyl Ether(DME) common-rail system. To deliver the same amount of energy provided by injection pressure of diesel $P_{inj}$ = 160 MPa, the DME injectors need to have larger diameter of nozzle hole and more No. of hole at low injection pressure of $P_{inj}$ = 40~50 MPa. The simplified nozzle flow model, which takes account of nozzle geometry and injection condition, was employed in order to design the concept of a injector nozzle such as No. of hole, diameter of hole and diameter of needle seat, etc. Injection amount and rate were tested by diesel and DME test stand. As a result, the diameter of nozzle hole were enlarged by 0.25 mm. The diameter of the orifice in the high pressure line was increased by 1.0 mm to maintain hydraulic force in the nozzle. The material of the solenoid sealing was changed to HNBR, which was strong against the corrosive. Experimental results showed that the injection amount of the DME injector drastically increased by 191.9% comparison to that of diesel at $P_{inj}$ = 40 MPa.
The presence of the sound tube and resonance cavity is unique in Korea Brahman Bells which is no examples in other country bells in the world. The sound tube erected in the crown is effective to emit the fundamental tone of the bell when the condition of resonant transmissibility is satisfied. The results of our analysis shows that the optimum length of the sound tube in the Bell Emile is 96cm but is not the present length, 77cm. The resonance cavity erected underneath the lip of the Bell Emile is found to be for the resonance of standing waves in the space including both bell cavity and resonance cavity and resonance cavity to the fundamental tone of the bell itself, in order that the strongest vibration can last long by least energy and lengthen the reverberation of the bell. Some historical remarks are also made on the magic flute, MANPASIKJUK, which was in existence in Shilla that can lull all evil waves, such as plagues, storms, droughts, famines and even enemies. The sound tube erected in the crown of the bell was originated in this magic flute. Finally, a strong proposal is advanced on the new national symbol of Korean traditional cultural assets. Indeed, it should be highly recommended that the Great King's Bell Emile would be the only real symbol of our national cultural assets by its own right of excellency and richness in every aspect of arts and sciences.

The ventilation performance of a vertical exhaust duct system in the high riser public house has been evaluated by a commercial software, Fluid Flow, which solves pressure losses through the duct system including bathroom fans and a hybrid roof fan. During the numerical simulations, outdoor wind condition and stack effects in summer and winter were considered as well as the operating conditions of a basement damper and the roof fan. The results show that the bathroom ventilation in summer is the most unsatisfactory. The opening of the basement damper has a problem that the polluted air in the lower floors is exhausted to the underground parking lot, not to the rooftop. If the basement damper is closed, the exhaust flow rate in the lower floors is not sufficient due to the strong flow resistance in the long vertical duct even though the roof fan is under operating.

Interstate electric power system, as an alternative for energy cooperation under regional economic bloc, has been hotly debated before progressing the restructure in electric power industry and rapidly expanded in many regions after 1990s. Especially, since northeast asia has strong supplementation in resource, load shape, fuel mix etc., electric power system interconnection in this region may bring considerable economic benefits. Moreover, since Korean electric power system has a great difficulty in a geographical condition to interrupt electricity transaction with other countries, it has been expanded as an independent system to supply all demand domestically. As a result, Korean electric power system makes considerable payment for maintaining system security and reliability and expands costly facilities to supply a temporary summer peak demand. Under this inefficiency, if there are electricity transactions with Russia via the North Korea route then economic electric power system operation nay be achieved using seasonal and hourly differences in electricity price and/or load pattern among these countries. In this paper, we estimate price cap of transacted electricity via interstate electric power system in northeast asia. For this study, we perform quantitative economic analysis on various system interconnection scenarios.

In this study, transmission and reflection of multi-directional random waves propagating over impermeable submerged breakwaters are calculated by using eigenfunction expansion method. A series of mutiderectional random waves is generated by using the Bretschneider-Mitsuyasu frequency and Mitsuyasu type directional spectrum. Strong reflection is occurred at the Bragg reflection condition of the peak frequency. If the row of breakwaters is fixed at 3 and the relative height of breakwater is fixed at 0.6, more than 25% of incident wave energy is reflected to offshore. It is also found that the reflection of directionally spreading random waves increases as the maximum spreading parameter $s_{max}$ increases.
The present paper has been carried out to understand the effects of impact loading on the rock tunnels, constructed in different region corresponding to varying unconfined compressive strength (UCS), through finite element method. The UCS of rockmass has substantial role in the stability of rock tunnels under impact loading condition due to falling rocks or other objects. In the present study, Dolomite, Shale, Sandstone, Granite, Basalt, and Quartzite rocks have been taken into consideration for understanding of the effect of UCS that vary from 2.85 MPa to 207.03 MPa. The Mohr-Coulomb constitutive model has been considered in the present study for the nonlinear elastoplastic analysis for all the rocks surrounding the tunnel opening. The geometry and boundary conditions of the model remains constant throughout the analysis and missile has 100 kg of weight. The general hard contact has been assigned to incorporate the interaction between different parts of the model. The present study focuses on studying the deformations in the rock tunnel caused by impacting load due to missile for tunnels having different concrete grade, and steel grade. The broader range of rock strength depicts the strong relationship between the UCS of rock and the extent of damage produced under different impact loading conditions. The energy released during an impact loading simulation shows the variation of safety and serviceability of the rock tunnel.
In this study, a new type of composite material combined with carbonyl iron, a relatively strong ferromagnetic material, was prepared to overcome the current application limitations of Prussian blue, which is effective in removing radioactive cesium. The surface of the prepared composite was analyzed using SEM and XRD, and it was confirmed that nano-sized Prussian Blue was synthesized on the particle surface. In order to evaluate the cesium removal ability, 0.2 g of the composite prepared for raw cesium aquatic solution at a concentration of 5 ㎍ was added and reacted, resulting in a cesium removal rate of 99.5 %. The complex follows Langmuir's adsorption model and has a maximum adsorption amount (qe) of 79.3 mg/g. The Central Composite Design (CCD) of the Response Surface Method (RSM) was used to derive the optimal application conditions of the prepared composite. The optimal application conditions achieved using Response optimization appeared at a stirring speed of pH 7, 17.6 RPM. The composite manufactured through this research is a material that overcomes the Prussian Blue limit in powder form and is considered to be excellent economically and environmentally when applied to a cesium removal site.

The effects of post-annealing and temperature/humidity conditions on the interfacial adhesion energies of atomic layer deposited RuAlO diffusion barrier layer for Cu interconnects were systematically investigated. The initial interfacial adhesion energy measured by four-point bending test was $7.60J/m^2$. The interfacial adhesion energy decreased to $5.65J/m^2$ after 500 hrs at $85^{\circ}C$/85% T/H condition, while it increased to $24.05J/m^2$ after annealing at $200^{\circ}C$ for 500 hrs. The X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS) analysis showed that delaminated interface was RuAlO/$SiO_2$ for as-bonded and T/H conditions, while it was Cu/RuAlO for post-annealing condition. XPS O1s peak separation results revealed that the effective generation of strong Al-O-Si bonds between $AlO_x$ and $SiO_2$ interface at optimum post-annealing conditions is responsible for enhanced interfacial adhesion energies between RuAlO/$SiO_2$ interface, which would lead to good electrical and mechanical reliabilities of atomic layer deposited RuAlO diffusion barrier for advanced Cu interconnects.
