  • In this paper, Electromagnetic scattering problems by a resistive strip grating with tapered resistivity on a grounded dielectric plane according as strip width and spacing, relative permittivity and thickness of dielectric layers, and incident angles of a electric wave are analyzed by applying the FGMM(Fourier-Galerkin Moment Method) Known as a numerical procedure. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of floguet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients and the resistive boundary condition is used for the relationship between the tangential electric field and the electric current density on the strip. The tapered resistivity of resistive strips varies zero resistivity at strip edges. Then the induced surface current density on the resistive strip is expanded in a series of Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind. The numerical results of the geometrically in this paper are compared with those for the existing uniform resistivity and perfectly conducting strip. The numerical results of the normalized reflected power for conductive strips case with zero resistivity in this paper show in good agreement with those of existing paper.

  • Shrinkage strip or separation strip is a temporary joint that is left open for a certain time during construction to allow a significant part of the shrinkage to take place without inducing stress. A shrinkage stress analysis method of shrinkage strip in concrete slab of multi-story building considering the relaxation effect of creep and construction sequence is proposed. The analysis results of 10-story example building show that the effect of shrinkage strip can be analyzed easily by the proposed method. And shrinkage strip installed in a particular floor makes the stress of that floor reduced and the stress of the other floors increased a little. The rate and amount of stress reduced with closing time mainly depends on the development of shrinkage with time of concrete model used. The amount of stress reduced is determined by the amount of shrinkage strain developed before the closing of shrinkage strip.

  • In this paper, we investigate the feasibility of modelling image strips, instead of individual scenes, that have been acquired from the same orbital pass through the process of bundle adjustments. Under this approach, First, a rational function model (RFM) of the strip image is generated from the RFMs of individual images, such that the entire strip of images can be treated as a single image. Correction parameters are calculated through bundle adjustments between strip images. For the experiment, we used two stereo strips. Each strip image consists of three KOMPSAT-3A scenes. Experimental results show that it was possible to improve the initial model by using the control points located in a specific region of the strip. We showed that absolute orientation with moderate accuracy of 2 m errors were achieved from 12 ground control points for the three-image strips. The test results indicate that bundle adjustment of strip images could be more efficient than bundle adjustments of the individual scenes.

  • An immunochromatography (ICG) strip test using a nanocolloidal gold-antibody probe was developed and optimized for the rapid detection of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1). A monoclonal antibody specific to AFB1 was produced from the cloned hybridoma cell (AF78), coupled with nanocolloidal gold, and distributed on the conjugate pad of the ICG strip test. The visual detection limit of the ICG strip test was 0.5 ng/ml, and this method showed a cross-reaction to aflatoxin B2, G1, and G2. In total, 172 grain and feed samples were collected and analyzed by both the ICG strip test and HPLC. The results of the ICG strip test showed a good agreement with those obtained by HPLC. These results indicated that the ICG strip test has a potential use as a rapid and cost-effective screening tool for the determination of AFB1 in real samples and could be applied to the preliminary screening of mycotoxin in food and agricultural products, generating results within 15 min without complicated steps.

  • We examined the working fracture behavior of a silicon-steel strip caused by deformation deviation by performing a pilot rolling test. The deformation deviation resulted in the edges (or center portion) of the strip being stretched and the other parts being compressed in the rolling direction; this was because of different degrees of deformation in these parts. We designed roll grooves shape to reflect the role of roll bending, which generates waviness in the strip in an actual cold rolling process, into the pilot rolling test. The material used in the rolling test was highsilicon steel (about 3%). The results of the test showed that the type of fracture in the strip specimen varied with the magnitude of the deformation deviation. The tensile stress produced at the strip edges because of the center waviness in the rolling direction was a crucial factor that resulted in edge cracking and a zigzag-shaped fracture at the center.

  • Purpose: This study was performed to develop a lateral flow strip sensor for the detection of pathogenic Escherichia coli O157:H7 in various samples. Also, feasibility of using an image analysis method to improve the interpretation of the strip sensor was evaluated. Methods: The lateral flow strip sensor has been fabricated based on nitrocellulose lateral-flow membrane. Colloidal gold and E. coli O157:H7 antibodies were used as a tag and a receptor, respectively. Manually spotted E. coli O157:H7 antibody and anti-mouse antibody on nitrocellulose membrane were used as test and control dots, respectively. Feasibility of the lateral flow strip sensor to detect E. coli O157:H7 were evaluated with serially diluted E. coli O157:H7 cells in PBS or food samples. Test results of the lateral flow strip sensor were measured with an image analysis method. Results: The intensity of the test dot started to increase with higher concentration of the cells were introduced. The sensitivities of the sensor were both $10^4$ CFU/mL Escherichia coli O157:H7 spiked in PBS and in chicken meat extract, respectively. Conclusions: The lateral flow strip sensor and image analysis method could detect E. coli O157:H7 in 20 min, which is significantly quicker than conventional plate counting method.

  • This study was performed to evaluate the effect on the formation of keratinized attached gingiva when free gingival graft with strip technique was used. After the partial thickness flap was prepared, it was positioned apically more than 7mm using mucoperiosteal suture. At the donor site, strip was achieved with 2mm width, less than 1mm thickness, (mesiodistal teeth length + 6)$^{\ast}$2 mm length. Then, it was divided into 2 same pieces and located at the recipient bed apico-coronally with more or less 3mm interval. Follow-up check was made at 1,2,4,8,12 weeks after the operation. The results of this study were as follows : 1. The inter-strip space was mostly filled with keratinized attached gingiva. 2. The contraction of the graft was nigligible, and 92% of planned area was filled with keratinized attached gingiva. 3. The inconvenience of the patients at donor site was minimal. 4. The width of the strip was widened. In conclusion, free gingival graft using strip technique is useful to achieve the keratinized attached gingiva maximally with free gingival graft minimally and to minimize the inconvenience of donor palatal site of the patients.

  • A finite element-based, integrated process model is presented for a three dimensional, coupled analysis of the thermo-mechanical behavior of the strip and work roll in the continuous hot strip rolling. The validity of the proposed model is examined through comparison with measurements. The effect of Edge-Heater on the finishing delivery temperatures is examined by using the present model. The models capability of revealing the effect of diverse process parameters is demonstrated through a series of process simulation.

  • In this paper a new approximate formulation for bistatic scattering by a thin dielectric strip for TM wave incidence is obtained. This formulation is uniform which is valid for any incident angles, observation points, and any properties of the skip such as dielectric constants, width, and thickness. The accuracy of the proposed solution is examined by comparisons with a method of moments(MoM) for various situations.
