The purpose of this study was to analyze the stress distribution in the dentin and post structures by the various post core materials and the amount of remaining coronal tooth structures. The 2-dimensional finite element models of mandibular 2nd premolars was divided into seven types according to the various amount of remaining coronal tooth structures. All types were modeled using equal length, diameter and shape of the post. 2 types of post and core materials were used : 1) cast gold post and core 2) stainless steel post and compsite resin core 10 Newton force was applied as follows 1) vertical force on occlusal fossa 2) $45^{\circ}$ oblique force on buccal surface of buccal cusp tip The results were as follows : 1. There was no apparent difference in the pattern of stress distribution according to the amount of remaining coronal tooth structure. 2. There was no apparent difference in the pattern of stress distribution within the dentin according to the post and core materials. A cast gold post and core generated lower dentin stress than a stainless steel post and resin core. 3. Max. dentinal stress resulting from vertical force was observed in the lingual side of dentin around the crown margin. This stress resulting from oblique force was observed in the lingual root surface of alveolar bone crest level.

The purpose of this study was to compare the stress distribution according to the splinting condition and non-splinting conditions on the finite element models of the two units implant prostheses. The finite element model was designed with the parallel placement of two fixtures ($4.0mm{\times}11.5mm$) on the mandibular 1st and 2nd molars. A cemented abutment and gold screw were used for superstructures. A FEA models assumed a state of optimal osseointegration, as the bone quality, inner cancellous bone and outer 2 mm compact bone was designed. This concluded that the cortical and trabecular bone were assumed to be perfectly bonded to the implant. Splinting condition had 2 mm contact surface and non-splinting condition had $8{\mu}m$ gap between two implant prosthesis. Two group (Splinting and non-splinting) were loaded with 200 N magnitude in vertical axis direction and were divided with subdivision group. Subdivision group was composed of three loading point; Center of central fossa, the 2 mm and 4 mm buccal offset point from the central fossa. Von Mises stress value were recorded and compared in the fixture-bone interface and bucco-lingual sections. The results were as follows; 1. In the vertical loading condition of central fossa, splinting condition had shown a different von Mises stress pattern compared to the non-splinting condition, while the maximum von Mises stress was similar. 2. Stresses around abutment screw were more concentrated in the splinting condition than the non-splinting condition. As the distance from central fossa increased, the stress concentration increased around abutment screw. 3. The magnitude of the stress in the cortical bone, fixture, abutment and gold screw were greater with the 4 mm buccal offset loading of the vertical axis than with the central loading.
Pressurized high temperature plastic resin flows into the cavity of mold and is solidified in injection molding process. Residual stress is being developed in injection molded part because of high temperature variations and high pressure. Developed residual stress relaxes as time goes. Consequently this makes part deformed and deteriorates quality of product. A measurement method of residual stress for injection molded transparent articles has been investigated using photoelasticity. Light, a composite of electromagnetic waves, is purified into a single wave by a polarized film. When this wave passes through the specimen, birefringence is developed according to the level of residual stress in the specimen and color fringed pattern appears after the second polarized film. Residual stress in the injection molded transparent flat a part has been measured quantitatively using the color fringed pattern. Optical characteristics have been a part also predicted by computer simulation and compared with experimental results.

This study tried to find out whether character patterns of elderly people are related to stress resistance using brain waves, personal physiological index of cranial nerves. The data were gathered by 1,108 seniors(age 65 and over) who were requested to check brain waves from September, 2007 to December, 2010 in Korean Institute for Research of Psychiatry. 552 of the subject showed the propensity to positive behavior, 556 of them showed the propensity to negative behavior. 735 of the subject showed the propensity to cheerful emotion, 373 of them showed the propensity to depressed emotion. As a result the propensity of emotion was significantly related to the stress resistance, but not the propensity of behavior. In other words, the propensity to cheerful emotion showed higher average stress resistance index than the propensity to depressed emotion. So the person who has the propensity to cheerful emotion can cope with stress better. This study shows the propensity to emotion is related to stress resistance. The influence of the propensity to emotion and how it works should to be studied.
The inelastic lateral-torsional buckling behavior of the beam-columns and the columns was investigated in this paper. The energy method was deployed to study the inelastic buckling behavior of the beam-columns and columns. which requires the iterative solution of a fourth-order eigenproblem. Hitherto, the patterns of residual stress that satisfies the I-section manufacturing in Korea is not available, therefore the pattern of residual stress used in this study is a 'well-known' simplified pattern. The simplified pattern of the residual stresses is incorporated with the flow theory of plasticity to model the inelastic response. Firstly, this study investigates the inelastic lateral-torsional buckling behavior of the I-section beam-columns under a concentric axial compressive force and uniform bending, and the effect of residual stress on the inelastic buckling behavior of beam-columns is studied. The study is then extended to the inelastic buckling of the columns by eliminating a bending moment. These results are compared it with the design method in the Korean Steel Designers Manual (KSDM 1995). This study has found that design method in KSDM (1995) is excessively conservative.
PURPOSE. Finite element study on the effect of abutment length and material on implant bone interface against dynamic loading. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Two dimensional finite element models of cylinderical implant, abutments and bone made by titanium or polyoxymethylene were simulated with the aid of Marc/Mentat software. Each model represented bone, implant and titanium or polyoxymethylene abutment. Model 1: Implant with 3 mm titanium abutment, Model 2: Implant with 2 mm polyoxymethylene resilient material abutment, Model 3: Implant with 3 mm polyoxymethylene resilient material abutment and Model 4: Implant with 4 mm polyoxymethylene resilient material abutment. A vertical load of 11 N was applied with a frequency of 2 cycles/sec. The stress distribution pattern and displacement at the junction of cortical bone and implant was recorded. RESULTS. When Model 2, 3 and 4 are compared with Model 1, they showed narrowing of stress distribution pattern in the cortical bone as the height of the polyoxymethylene resilient material abutment increases. Model 2, 3 and 4 showed slightly less but similar displacement when compared to Model 1. CONCLUSION. Within the limitation of this study, we conclude that introduction of different height resilient material abutment with different heights i.e. 2 mm, 3 mm and 4 mm polyoxymethylene, does not bring about significant change in stress distribution pattern and displacement as compared to 3 mm Ti abutment. Clinically, with the application of resilient material abutment there is no significant change in stress distribution around implant-bone interface.

Interfacial properties and electrical sensing fer fiber fracture in carbon and SiC fibers/epoxy composites were investigated by the electrical resistance measurement and fragmentation test. As fiber-embedded angle increased, the interfacial shear strength (IFSS) of two-type fiber composites decreased, and the elapsed time takes long until the infinity in electrical resistivity. The initial slope of electrical resistivity increased rapidly to the infinity at higher angle, whereas electrical resistivity increased gradually at small angle. Furthermore, both fiber composites with small embedded angle showed a fully-developed stress whitening pattern, whereas both composites with higher embedded angle exhibited a less developed stress whitening pattern. As embedded angle decreased, the gap between the fragments increased and the debonded length was wider for both fiber composites. Electro-micromechanical technique could be a feasible nondestructive evaluation to measure interfacial sensing properties depending on the fiber-embedded angle in conductive fiber reinforced composites.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of phytoncide Aroma inhalation and exercise combination therapy on the college life stress, mood state and sleep pattern of the university students. Participants were 72 college students of four groups of Phytoncide Aroma Inhalation group(n=18), Exercise group(n=17), Phytoncide Aroma Inhalation and exercise combination therapy group(n=17), control group(n=20). Research subjects pre-test(0week), mid-test(6week), post-test(12week) measurement was made equally on college life stress, mood state and sleep pattern. As a result, mood status, college life satisfaction and sleep scores were improved in all groups except the control group. Especially, phytoncide inhalation and exercise combination therapy group showed the greatest change in scores.
This study concerns the constraints of English Poetic Meter. In English poems, the metrical pattern doesn't always match the linguistic stress on the lines. These mismatches are found differently among the poets. For the lexical stress mismatched with the weak metrical position, $*W{\Rightarrow}{\;}Strength$ is established by the concept of the strong syllable. The peaks of monosyllabic words mismatched with the weak metrical position are divided according to which side of the boundary of a phonological domain they are adjacent to. Adjacency Constraint I is suggested for the mismatched peak which is adjacent to the left boundary of a phonological domain; *Peak] and Adjacency ConstraintII for the mismatched peak which are adjacent to the right boundary of a phonological domain. These constraints are various according to the poets(Pope, Milton and Shakespeare) : *[Peak [-stress], $W{\Rightarrow}{\;}*Strength$ and *Peak] in Pope; *[+stress][Peak [-stress] and *Peak] in Milton ; *[+stress][Peak [-stress], $W{\;}{\Rightarrow}{\;}*Strength$ and ACII in Shakespeare.
