From the early 1980's, when Chinese government decided to take an Open-Policy. Chinese society faced a new turning point to be changed from traditional-society to modern-society. As a result her outstanding phenomena of civilization is to be seen in many points, like the oid styled traditional street is rapidly replaced by the modernized high-rise buildings. Like the other cities in China, Beijing(北京) also is on the step of modernization, and it's changing speed is faster time by time. In this paper, I'll discuss about Beijing's policy of reservation of Old castles(古城), some problems what they have though the procedure of China's Movement of Old Castle Reservation(古城保護運動). And through this case study, I'd like to focus on the way how we solve some problems what we have now concerning to the reservation and development of traditional cities.

In this paper, we investigate an input dimension reduction method using continuous word vector in deep neural network language model. In the proposed method, continuous word vectors were generated by using Google's Word2Vec from a large training corpus to satisfy distributional hypothesis. 1-of-${\left|V\right|}$ coding discrete word vectors were replaced with their corresponding continuous word vectors. In our implementation, the input dimension was successfully reduced from 20,000 to 600 when a tri-gram language model is used with a vocabulary of 20,000 words. The total amount of time in training was reduced from 30 days to 14 days for Wall Street Journal training corpus (corpus length: 37M words).

This paper proposes a speech processing system based on a model of the human auditory system and a noise reduction neural network with fast Fourier transform (FFT) amplitude and phase spectrums for noise reduction under background noise environments. The proposed system reduces noise signals by using the proposed neural network based on FFT amplitude spectrums and phase spectrums, then implements auditory processing frame by frame after detecting voiced and transitional sections for each frame. The results of the proposed system are compared with the results of a conventional spectral subtraction method and minimum mean-square error log-spectral amplitude estimator at different noise levels. The effectiveness of the proposed system is experimentally confirmed based on measuring the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). In this experiment, the maximal improvement in the output SNR values with the proposed method is approximately 11.5 dB better for car noise, and 11.0 dB better for street noise, when compared with a conventional spectral subtraction method.

This paper describes a robust landmark matching method to reduce ambiguity of candidate of landmark. General robot system acquires the candidate of landmark through vision sensor in outdoor environment. Our robot uses the omnidirectional vision system to get all around the view. Thus, the robot obtains more candidates of landmark than the conventional vision system. To obtain the candidates of landmark, robot uses the two types of feature. They are vertical edge and merged region of vertical edges. The former is to extract the vertical line of building, street lamp, etc. The latter is to reduce ambiguity of vertical edge in similar region. It is difficult to match the candidates of landmark...

마이크로셀 환경에서의 수신전력 및 지연 프로파일 예측을 위한 전파경로 추적법에 적용하기 위하여 반사지점을 찾는 방법인 개선된 영상기법과 반사 횟수에 따른 다중경로파 수를 계산하는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법을 이용한 전파경로 추적모텔을 이용하여, 여러가지 형태의 환경 구조 및 다중경로파 수에 대한 시뮬레이션 결과를 보였다 또한 예측모델의 신뢰성을 검증하기 위하여 도로 양쪽을 따라 배치된 아파트 단지 내에서의 측정한 측정치와 시뮬레이션 결과를 비교 검토 하므로서 적절한 반사 횟수를 제안하였다.

This study aimed to develop an optimal model of transportation for people with disabilities. To achieve this goal, powers of research and design should be involved, including CAD software. This paper investigates both: the concept of optimal model of transportation for people with disabilities (functional, ergonomic, constructive, technological and aesthetic solutions included); and its implementation as a fully-fledged 3D-model designed in SolidWorks environment. The optimal model of transportation is complex and consists of two objects. The first object is for indoors that is a wheelchair, the second one is for street driving that is an individual vehicle. The optimal model of transportation is universal and multifunctional, which have become possible with parametric feature-based approach utilized in SolidWorks.

Community noise has been serious social issues in Korea. This paper reviews current statistics and status on railway noise, with practical engineering tools in order to reduce the noise level from railway traffic noise sources. At the beginning, guidelines of the current environmental policy are discussed, with the new policy on railway noise to be enforced beginning in 2007 with 5 year schedule. Then, a noise reducer is proposed as a tool to reduce noise levels protecting people living near at the railway. Details on the acoustic effect in field test are discussed with the result of implementation in the street. We propose noise reducers as an effective and practical tool for the people who are exposed to rail traffic noise in cities.

View targets have been studied extensively in terms of an aesthetic value and a monetary asset. But there was actually deficient in the research about a variety of view targets. Therefore, the purpose of this paper was to classify systematically into diverse view targets in an apartment unit by the use of both the literature methods and the questionnaire-interview survey. In result, the view targets in an apartment unit were categorized by two large groups which are a natural-type and an artificial-type view. The former was subdivided into a pure natural-type and a man-made natural-type view, while the latter was subdivided into a building-type, a street-furniture-type, a road-type, a open-space-type, and a tower-type view. Consequently, this study might be applied to the understanding of the quality of residential environment as a basis.

This paper presents the surface potential rise distribution near grounding electrodes produced by ground fault currents. The small-scale model with the foundation pedestal in hemispherical tank was used to simulate the ground fault condition of the electrical installations for street lamps. When entering the fault current through the test ground electrode, surface potential rise, potential gradient, touch and step voltages for different grounding electrode shapes were measured, and the results obtained were discussed.

Snow removal system is named for machinery which manages roads for passing of pedestrians and automobiles when snow is piled up on the road. This paper studies configuration design of snow removal system that has several functions-melting snow in the street without moving it to other place, transferring snow to the melter and cleaning road by spraying water for cleaning road. These sorts of functions are analyzed by function decomposition method of Kirshman and Fadel and, based upon which, machine parts are selected. Layout design would follow functional design to testify if the selected component satisfies space which is allowed by constraints.
