  • Existing exploration robot is able to control its speed using technologies such as the remote control and deep learning. However its speed control method using weather information has not been proposed. To overcome the problem of conventional methods without using the weather information which is an useful ordinary life information, this paper proposes a new speed control method of exploration robot using weather information gathered from RSS service which is offered without cost by the Meteorological Agency. The exploration robot implemented in this paper is controled by the remote control through the TCP/IP communication and provides real-time real spot figure gathered from its camera sensor within the range of WiFi. Additionally, according to the weather information from URL of the Meteorological Agency, the implemented exploration robot autonomously controls it speed. The correct performance of the proposed method is verified by the experimental measurement data of its speed according to the precipitation probability and wind speed in this paper.

  • This paper presents dielectric characteristics of $N_2$ gas under impulse voltages in a quasi-uniform electric field gap. The experiments were carried out at the test gap applied by the 1.2/50[${\mu}s$] lightning impulse voltage, 180/2500[${\mu}s$] switching impulse voltage, 500[ns]/1[MHz] very fast transient overvoltage(VFTO). The gap separation of sphere-to-plane electrodes was 14[mm] and the electric field utilization factor was about 71.2[%]. The gas pressure ranges from 0.2 to 0.6[MPa]. As a result, the electrical breakdowns are occurred by streamer discharge. Breakdown voltages are linearly increased with the gas pressure and the highest breakdown voltage is appeared under the VFTOs having fast rising time. Breakdown voltages under the positive impulse voltages were higher than those under the negative ones, and also the time to breakdown in the positive polarity is longer than that in the negative polarity.

  • Due to mechanical failure or geographical accessibility, the seismic data can be partially missed. In addition, it can be coarsely sampled such as crossline of the marine streamer data. This seismic data that irregular sampled and spatial aliased may cause problems during seismic data processing. Accurate and efficient interpolation method can solve this problem. Futhermore, interpolation can save the acquisition cost and time by reducing the number of shots and receivers. Among various interpolation methods, the Matching Pursuit method can be applied to any sampling type which is regular or irregular. However, in case of using sinusoidal basis function, this method has a limitation in spatial aliasing. Therefore, in this study, we have developed wavelet based Matching Pursuit method that uses wavelet instead of sinusoidal function for the improvement of dealiasing performance. In addition, we have improved interpolation speed by using inner product instead of L-2 norm.

  • Objectives: In this paper, a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma reactor was investigated for degrading the dye Rhodamine B (RhB) in aqueous solutions. Methods: The DBD plasma reactor system in this study consisted of a plasma component [titanium discharge (inner), ground (outer) electrode and quartz dielectric tube], power source, and gas supply. The effects of various parameters such as first voltage (input power), gas flow rate, second voltage (output power), conductivity and pH were investigated. Results: Experimental results showed that a 99% aqueous solution of 20 mg/l Rhodamine B is decolorized following an eleven minute plasma treatment. When comparing the performance of electrolysis and plasma treatment, the RhB degradation of the plasma process was higher that of the electrolysis. The optimum first voltage and air flow rate were 160 V (voltage of trans is 15 kV) and 3 l/min, respectively. With increased second voltage (4 kV to 15 kV), RhB degradation was increased. The higher the pH and the lower conductivity, the more Rhodamine B degradation was observed. Conclusions: OH radical generation of dielectric plasma process was identified by degradation of N, N-dimethyl-4-nitrosoaniline (RNO, indicator of OH radical generation). It was observed that the effect of UV light, which was generated as streamer discharge, on Rhodamine B degradation was not high. Rhodamine B removal was influenced by real second voltage regardless of initial first and second voltage. The effects of pH and conductivity were not high on the Rhodamine B degradation.

  • In this paper, hybrid air-water discharges were used to develop an optimal condition for providing a high level of water decomposition for hydrogen yield. Electrical and optical phenomena accompanying the discharges were investigated along with feeding gases, flow rates, and point-to-plane electrode gap distance. The primary focus of this experiment was put on the optical emission of the near UV range, with the energy threshold sufficient for water dissociation and excitation. The $OH(A^{2+},'=0\;X^2,"=0$) band's optical emission intensity indicated the presence of plasma chemical reactions involving hydrogen formation. In the gaseous atmosphere saturated with water vapor the OH(A-X) band intensity was relatively high compared to the liquid and transient phases although the optical emission strongly depended on the flow rate and type of feeding gas. In the gaseous phase discharge phenomenon for Ar carrier gas transformed into a gliding arc via the flow rate growth. OH(A-X) band's intensity increased according to the flow rate or residence time of He feeding gas. Reciprocal tendency was acquired for $N_2$ and Ar carrier gases. The peak value of OH(A-X) intensity was observed in the proximity of the water surface, however in the cases of Ar and $N_2$ with 0.5 SLM flow rate peaks shifted to the region below the water surface. Rotational temperature ($T_{rot}$) was estimated to be in the range of 900-3600 K, according to the carrier gas and flow rate, which corresponds to the arc-like-streamer discharge.

  • Some CMP gathers acquired from shallow marine seismic reflection survey in offshore Korea do not show the hyperbolic trend of moveout. It originated from so-called swell effect of source and streamer, which are towed under rough sea surface during the data acquisition. The observed time deviations of NMO-corrected traces can be entirely ascribed to the swell effect. To correct these time deviations, a residual statics is introduced using Genetic Algorithms (GA) into the swell correction. A new class of global optimization methods known as GA has recently been developed in the field of Artificial Intelligence and has a resemblance with the genetic evolution of biological systems. The basic idea in using GA as an optimization method is to represent a population of possible solutions or models in a chromosome-type encoding and manipulate these encoded models through simulated reproduction, crossover and mutation. GA parameters used in this paper are as follows: population size Q=40, probability of multiple-point crossover P$_c$=0.6, linear relationship of mutation probability P$_m$ from 0.002 to 0.004, and gray code representation are adopted. The number of the model participating in tournament selection (nt) is 3, and the number of expected copies desired for the best population member in the scaling of fitness is 1.5. With above parameters, an optimization run was iterated for 101 generations. The combination of above parameters are found to be optimal for the convergence of the algorithm. The resulting reflection events in every NMO-corrected CMP gather show good alignment and enhanced quality stack section.

  • This study seeks to derive game design elements that turn out game streaming-friendly through the analysis of Internet game streaming. To this end, this study surveyed previous studies on the motivation of watching internet game broadcasting and simplified the motivations to 'Expertise' and 'Amusement', the goal that game streaming should aim for, and divided streamer's streaming types into 'Reviewer', 'Master', 'Entertainer' and 'Acrobat' by those two options. Based on the categories, this study analyzed game streaming videos of various genres and confirmed that both the number of videos and the number of views by the streaming type were the highest in the 'Acrobat' group. In addition, the analysis shows that and revealed different figures by the type although they belong to the similar genre. By comparing and analyzing the systems and content elements of the two games, this study identified 's advantages in three points-Fortune, Setup Time, Control View- and finally suggested some guidelines for streaming-friendly game planning.

  • The Balloon-borne Investigation of Temperature and Speed of Electrons in the corona (BITSE) is a technology demonstration mission launched in 2019 to observe the solar corona from ~3 Rs to 15 Rs at four wavelengths (393.5, 405.0, 398.7, and 423.4 nm). Preliminary analysis shows that BITSE imaged the solar minimum corona with the equatorial streamers on the east and west limbs. The narrow streamers observed by BITSE are in good agreement with the geometric properties obtained by the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) coronagraphs in the overlapping physical domain. In spite of the small signal-to-noise ratio we were able to obtain the temperature and flow speed of the western steamer. In the heliocentric distance range 4 - 7 Rs on the western streamer, we obtained a temperature of ~ 1.0 ± 0.3 MK and a flow speed of ~ 260 km s-1 with a large uncertainty interval.

  • Intercomparison between eight radiative transfer codes used for the studies of COMS (Communications, Ocean, and Meteorological Satellite) in Korea was performed under pure molecular, i.e., Rayleigh atmospheres in four shortwave fluxes: 1) direct solar irradiance at the surface, 2) diffuse irradiance at the surface, 3) diffuse upward flux at the surface, and 4) diffuse upward flux at the top of the atmosphere. The result (hereafter called the H15) from Halthore et al.'s study (2005) which intercompared and averaged 15 codes was used as a benchmark to examine the COMS models. Uncertainty of the seven COMS models except STREAMER was ${\pm}4%$ with respect to the H15, comparable with ${\pm}3%$ of Halthore et al.'s (2005). The uncertainty increased under a large $SZA=75^{\circ}$. The SBDART model generally agreed with the H15 better than the 6S model, but both models in the shortwave infrared region were equally good. The direct solar irradiance fluxes at the surface, computed by the SBDARTs of four different users, were different showing a relative error of 1.4% $(12.1Wm^{-2})$. This reason was partially due to differently installing the wavelength resolution in the flux integration. This study may be useful for selecting the optimum model in the shortwave region.
