A Real-Time Control Technique of Media Stream in Embedded Web Streaming (임베디드 웹 스트리밍에서의 미디어 스트림의 실시간 제어 기술)

  • Web streaming environment need a suitable video playback service technique, a streaming technique for real-time delivery and an efficient control technique due to its limited environment. In this paper, we propose an effective control technique for real-time media stream playback as a connection technique between the high-quality media player and web browser based on Linux environment. The proposed stream control technique presents control data through 050 on media playback screen of web browser, and process the user's input data. It acts GUI-independently, and is designed considering addition and extension for control data.

  • This paper describes the grenade counting system developed for DPICM submunition analysis using the infrared video streams, and its some video stream processing technique. The video stream data processing procedure consists of four sequences; Analog infrared video stream recording, video stream capture, video stream pre-processing, and video stream analysis including the grenade counting. Some applications of this algorithms to real bursting test has shown the possibility of automation for submunition counting.

Multi-stream Delivery Method of the Video Data Based on SPIHT Wavelet (SPIHT 웨이브릿 기반의 비디오 데이터의 멀티스트림 전송 기법)

  • In this paper, we proposed the compression technique of the video data using SPIHT(set partitioning in hierarchical trees) based on wavelet and the multi-stream delivery method for best-effort service as fully utilizing the clients bandwidth over the current Internet. The experiment shows that the proposed method provides about 1.5dB better picture quality without block effects than DCT(discrete consine transform) based coding schemes at the same bit rates because of using the wavelet video coder. In addition, this technique implements the multi-stream transmission based on TCP(transmission control protocol). Thus, it is provided with the best-efforts service which is robust to the network jitter problem, and maximally utilizes the bandwidth of the client's.

A Study on the Environmentally Favorable Arrangement Technique of Water Space Considering Stream Landscape (하천경관을 고려한 환경친화적 수변공간 정비기법 연구)

  • The creation of favorable water space, in our living circumferential space, is very important factor to offer rural scenery to neighbor residents. We are to introduce stream landscape arrangement technique considering favorable water environment against conventional methods. In this study, the modeling district is Seungdu small stream of Ansung river system in Pyung-Teak city, Kyonggi province, and we carried out stream landscape simulation. The arranging plans of landscape are classified ti three types. The first one is conservation type of ecological environment that can express natural characteristics of stream inherence, raise variety of living things and construct coexisting environment between human beings and the other living things. The secong one is favorable water approach type. The basic object of this type is space construction for easy approach to waterside and increase of comfortable feelings of spectators. The third one is water utilization/flood control management type. In planning of environmentally favorable landscape arrangement, this type is the most important but is likely to be ignored. This type is an arranging plan of stream landscape considering safety. Also, we developed Streams Landscape Simulation System(SLSS). This program can be used for comparison of original landscape image with simulated one. To apply SLSS on the interested stream, landscape simulation that is based on hydraulic characteristics, runoff, flow direction, detailed conditions of basin and ecosystem of stream have to be executed. In this point, developing a stereographical technique of image processing and exact study of applying plan have to be executed continually.

Adaptive Multi-stream Transmission Technique based on SPIHT Video Signal (SPIHT기반 비디오 신호의 적응적 멀티스트림 전송기법)

  • In this paper, we propose the adaptive multi stream transmission technique based on SPIHT video signal for the highest quality service over the current Internet that does not guarantee QoS. In addition to the reliable transmission of the video stream over the asynchronous packet network, the proposed approach provides the transmission using the adaptive frame pattern control and multi steam over the TCP for continuous replay. The adaptive frame pattern control makes the transmission date scalable in accordance with the client's buffer status. Apart from this, the multi stream transmission improves the efficiency of video stream, and is robust to the network jitter problem, and maximally utilizes the bandwidth of the client's. As a result of the experiment, the DR(delay ratio) in the proposed adaptive multi-stream transmission is more close to zero than in the existing signal stream transmission, which enables the best-efforts service to be implemented.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the theoretical methodology for development of an water quality management system with the optimal control of dilution water and point sources in streams. For the development of objective function and constraints, the control vectors are defined with stream inflows and concentrations of effluents at water treatment plant, and the state vectors are defined with water quality parameters such as DO, $BOD_5$, COD and SS concentrations. The applied system solution technique is augmented Lagrangian technique. The developed water quality optimal management methodology was applied to a case study at the Musim stream in Cheong-ju city. The results of the application show that the methodology is suitable for the comprehensive analysis of polluted water systems, and will be utilized to more useful operation of limited water resources in Korean streams.

  • It is very important to know mean and confidence interval of water-quality constituents such as BOD for water-quality control and management of rivers and reservoirs effectively. The mean and confidence interval of BOD at Anseong2 and Hwangguji3 sampling stations which are located at the border of local governments in Anseong Stream were estimated and analyzed in this paper using Bootstrap technique which is one of non-parametric statistics. The results of Bootstrap were compared with arithmetic mean, geometric mean, Biweight method mean as a point estimator and distribution mean came from the appropriate probability distribution of Log-normal. In Bootstrap technique 12 data set was randomly selected in each year and 1000 samples was produced to get parameter of population. Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) of Microsoft Excel was utilized in Bootstrap. It was revealed that the Bootstrap technique can be used to explain more rigorously and robustly the achievement or violation of BOD target concentration in Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL).

Development of Stream Assessment Technique for Restoration and Management of Urban Stream (도시하천의 복원과 관리를 위한 하천평가기법 개발)

  • The Urban Stream Assessment Technique (USAT) was suggested to give information about present urban stream condition. Domestic and foreign stream evaluation methods were analyzed and some streams were previously investigated to decide evaluation factors that could evaluate stream condition and have concern with characteristics and flood control of urban stream. The USAT consisted of three steps. High step has three characteristics concerned with functions of stream such as flood risk, stream, and ecology. In middle step, three characteristics were subdivided by ten features to describe changes and degradations of urban stream. Low step consisted of fifty three factors that explain the present condition of ten features. A survey of river experts was conducted to reflect weight among characteristics and features. The weights were calculated by analytic hierarchy process(AHP). The USAT was carried out to check over application of that in Suwon, Anyang, and Joongrang stream. The results of stream evaluation were expressed by factor index, feature index, characteristic index, total index, and evaluation grade. The results of the USAT were useful to realize changed and degraded areas. It is expected that the USAT can be used as base investigation for restoring and managing urban streams.

Application of Detention and Infiltration-based Retention Hybrid Design Technique to Oncheon Stream (유수지 및 침투기반 저류지 복합설계기법의 온천천 유역 적용)

  • In this study a hybrid design scheme for the purpose of designing infiltration-based retentions and a detention is applied to reproduce urban hydrologic regime to natural hydrologic regime. The proposed method is based on the NRCS-CN stormwater estimation technique, and applied to determine the size for stormwater control facilities on the Oncheon stream as an example. Urban area, corresponding to less than 70 m height of the Oncheon stream basin area is targeted. The results indicate that the proposed scheme is very useful to reproduce its undeveloped flow-duration curve.

River Pollution Control Using Hierarchical Optimization Technique (계층적 최적화 기법을 이용한 강의 수질오염 제어)

  • A discrete state space model for a multiple-reach river system is formulated using the dynamics of biochemical oxygen demand(BOD) and dissolved oxygen(DO). A hierarchical optimization technique, which is applicable to large-scale systems with time-delays in states, is also described to control stream quality in a river as an optimal manner based on the interaction prediction method. The steady state tracking error of the proposed method is determined analytically and a necessary and sufficient condition on which a constant target tracking problem has zero steady-state error is derived. Computer simulations for the river pollution model illustrate the algorithm.
