Objectives: The aim of this study was to identify characteristics of children and adolescents who were victims of sexual assault in Korea. Methods: The subjects were 60 children and adolescents who visited the one-stop center as victims of sexual assault. The medical records of victims of sexual trauma were retrospectively reviewed. We studied the demographic data of the victims, their relationship to their perpetrator, the characteristics of the assault (frequency, duration, place, type), and the process from sexual assault to treatment. We also paid special attention to how the characteristics of the victims or perpetrators affected the characteristics of the assault or follow-up treatment. Results: There were several differences between sexual assaults committed by strangers and those committed by acquaintances. Sexual assaults committed by acquaintances lasted for a longer period of time than those committed by strangers. In addition, it took more time for victims of sexual assaults committed by acquaintances to seek treatment than those who were victims of sexual assaults committed by strangers. The majority (55.0%) of victims were between 10 and 15 years of age. Forty percent of the perpetrators were teenagers, and two of them were under the age of 10. Voluntary discontinuation of treatment was more frequent in adolescents than in children. Conclusion: All teenage victims of sexual assault need some sort of urgent intervention. In addition, approachable methods are needed in order to prevent sexual abuse by strangers or acquaintances.
(The Animal That Therefore I Am)"을 중심으로 동물 타자의 확장을 살펴보고자 한다.
The present study was designed to assess the effect of relationship on children's distributive justice reasoning. 259 kindergarten, second-grade, and fifth-grade children were asked to allocate 9,000 Won to 3 characters under three different relationship conditions (strangers, peers, and siblings), provide rationales for those allocations, and rate the fairness of 4 different patterns of allocation. Older children were sensitive to relationship information such as allocation of more money to productive rather than to needy or older strangers, more to needy friends than to productive or older friends, and more to older than to a productive sibling. However, young children relied on only one principle, equality, across the relationship conditions. Kindergartners viewed allocations based on age entitlement as fairer than older children did, whereas both groups of older children rewarded individuals based on equality in stranger, equality and need in peer, and equality and equity in sibling relationships.
The restaurant is regarded as the place of association and rest, and is the commercial facilities required the space of delightful and comfortable in mentality as well as the visual satisfaction for the users. The customers have their tendency to avoid the visual and physical contact between the strangers in the restaurant. Therefore, it is required to arrange the undisturbed space from strangers through the appropriate guest seats arrangement by understanding such mental basement. In this study, we have examined the way of space application between the people in the space and the mental mechanism, and we made study and analysis on the conciusness & behavior of the users of the restaurant actually. As the result, the theoretical study was connected to the customers conscious or unconscious behavior and the same results was come out from the paper-and-pencil test and observation research, and its appropriateness was clarifed. To put it briefly , the people have been showing their trends to prefer the place where have a fine view, undisturbed from others and may keep to the private area. On the whole , they prefer the visual variation somewhat rather than the simple, and they are fond of the space of open and comfortable. and also showing that the mental environment could be established by the control of physical environment. Therefore, we can say that the restaurant is required to fulfill this spatial desire of the users through the guest seats arrangement and other visual factors.
This paper explores the issue of strangers and of hospitality in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, based on Kant's concept of hospitality as "the right of a stranger" and on Derrida's discussion of hospitality. It first examines the similarities between the domestic relations within the Frankenstein family and Frankenstein's relation to the monster: an effort to create unity out of a multiplicity of elements, and what can be called a "debt economy." Then, reading the animation scene of the monster as a version of the advent of a stranger, it deals with the question of hospitality. More specifically, the arrival of Clerval immediately follows the animation of the monster because it effectively dramatizes the paradox that there is no hospitality without hostility. The opposition and the apposition between hospitality and hostility are also seen in the De Lacey family's welcoming Safie and rejecting the monster. Frankenstein's failure and the De Lacey family's failure to welcome the monster show that hospitality as "right" exemplified by Kantian hospitality does not apply to a stranger like the monster who has neither name nor relation and who is categorized into what Derrida terms "an absolute other." This paper also looks at Safie's problematic subversion against her father, which loses its subversive charge in the context of racial relations between Turkish Mahometans and European Christians. Safie's father looms large in the context of the issue of hospitality because his episode suggests that the category of race causes hospitality to malfunction.
Objectives: This study investigated the association between perceived ethnic discrimination and depressive symptoms among biethnic adolescents in South Korea. Methods: We performed a cross-sectional study of 4141 biethnic adolescents using data from the 2012 National Survey of Multicultural Families. Perceived ethnic discrimination was measured using the question "Have you ever been discriminated against or ignored because either of your parents is not a Korean?" with an assessment of depressive symptoms over the past 12 months. Logistic regression was applied to examine potential associations between perceived ethnic discrimination and depressive symptoms. Results: Among 4141 biethnic adolescents, 558 (13.5%) reported having experienced ethnic discrimination. The most common discriminatory perpetrators were friends (n=241, 5.8%), followed by strangers (n=67, 1.6%). Depressive symptoms were related to experience of ethnic discrimination (odds ratio [OR], 3.80; 95% confidence interval [CI], 2.89 to 4.98) after adjusting for potential confounders. In an analysis focusing on the perpetrators of discrimination, depressive symptoms were found to be associated with perceived ethnic discrimination from friends (OR, 3.95; 95% CI, 2.75 to 5.68), teachers (OR, 4.53; 95% CI, 2.16 to 9.51), family members and relatives (OR, 3.89; 95% CI, 1.59 to 9.48), neighbors (OR, 2.48; 95% CI, 1.14 to 5.38), and strangers (OR, 2.49; 95% CI, 1.30 to 4.79). Furthermore, the OR for depressive symptoms among those exposed to 1, 2, or 3 or more discriminatory perpetrators were 3.61 (95% CI, 2.49 to 5.24), 3.61 (95% CI, 1.68 to 7.74), and 6.69 (95% CI, 2.94 to 15.22), respectively. Conclusions: According to our findings, friends were the most common perpetrators of discrimination and the experience of ethnic discrimination was associated with depressive symptoms among biethnic adolescents in South Korea.
The evolution of the Web from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0 has brought up new platforms as SNSs(Social Network Service) that are used by users to articulate and manage their relationships. SNSs are an online phenomenon which has become extremely popular. A SNS essentially consists of a representation of each user, his/her social links, and a variety of additional services. SNSs are increasingly attracting the attention of academic and industry researchers. What makes SNS unique is that they have a relationship with friends. The friend recommendation is one important feature of social networking services. People tend to trust the opinions of friends they know rather than the opinions of strangers. In this paper, we propose an efficient data processing method for social data. We study previous researches about social score in social network service. Our ESS(Efficient Social Score) is computed by both friendship weight and score of a document that was tagged by a user's friends. Our experimental results also confirm that our method has good performance.
As customers' participation in B2C e-commerce increases, customers are getting more involved in the delivery of services, which may even go beyond the completion of service transactions. To examine such proactive extra-role online customer behavior, we delve into organizational citizenship behavior framework, which has been recently extended to examine customer citizenship behavior (CCB) in the service market area. Although CCB is vital for online retailing success, MIS and e-commerce research efforts have generally focused on the customer's customer coproduction that are customer in-role behaviors. Moreover, although the effect of information created by anonymous strangers on other customers increase, interpersonal trust research have focused on only the relationship between a seller and a customer. Therefore, this study attempts to answer two research questions: What are motivational factors that affect CCB? How differently do the two kinds of interpersonal trusts (trust in online retailer and trust in customers) influence customers?
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of the types of care and multiple attachments on the issue of infant compliance. The subjects of this study were 52 infants (1-2 years old) and their caregivers (grandparents, baby sitters, daycare teachers) and their mothers. The results of this study are as follows : (1) The type of care and multiple attachments types affected infant compliance in relation to the mother. In the daycare center, the infants showed more signs of compliance than whilst in the care of the grandparents. Moreover, with the secure-secure, secure-insecure types, the infant showed more signs of compliance than with the insecure-secure, insecure-insecure types. (2) The types of care affected infant compliance in relation to the caregiver. In the daycare center, the infant showed more signs of compliance than in the care of both the grandparents or baby sitter. (3) Multiple attachment types were found to affect infant compliance in relation to strangers.
