유한요소법을 이용한 정밀진단 변형부의 응력해석 (The tress Analysis in the Fine-blanking deformation zone by the application of the FEM)

  • The goal of this study is to analyse the stress and the strain occurring within the work piece at the fine-blanking process and hence to assume the size direction and a distribution chart of the shearing stress as the penetration of the punch is being increased trough the application of the FEM. For this analysis we introduced the piece-wise linear method in the non linear structural analysis program for large deformation sheet metal forming and we defined it as the problem of the non linear contact. Therefore we modeled the above problems as quadratic-nodded axi-symmetrical elements for the character-istics of the work piece. From the result of this analysis it was found that the shearing stress is a great deal occurred on the surface of the work piece during the beginning process of the punch penetration and it's effect is expected to influence importantly for the formation of burnish because the deeper is the penetration of the punch in the narrow clearance zone. the greater is the degree of the strain stress.

J-적분을 이용한 후판 부분용입 다층용접재의 파괴 해석 (Fracture Analysis of Thick Plate for Partial Penetration Multi-pass Weldment Using J-integral)

  • Partial penetration welding joint is defined as groove welds welded from one side, without steel backing or groove welds welded from both sides but without back gouging. So it has an unwelded portion at the root of the weld. Study of partial penetration weldment fracture behavior includes residual stress analysis and fracture analysis. The J-integral loses its path independency in residual stress field. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a new J-integral, J, which is defined including the effect of plastic deformation and thermal strain. In this study, theoretical formulation and program were developed for the evaluation of J-integral for the crack tip located in the weldment. Evaluations of fracture behavior were performed for partial penetration multi-pass weldment of 25.4mm thick plate by J-integral. From a point of fracture in partial penetration multi-pass welding, it seemed to be better to control root face smaller than 6.35mm.

  • A liner is a crucial component that directly affects the penetration performance of the shaped charge warhead. If the material of the liner has fine grain size and high strength, then the penetration performance can be further improved. There have been attempts to use a preform obtained by a severe plastic deformation (SPD) process. In this study, the process of minimizing the strain deviation to maintain the characteristics of material obtained by the severe plastic deformation process was investigated. The FE analysis of liner forging process was performed using the design of experiments (DOE), to optimize various shape parameters of the forming process such as shape of preform and forging die. As a result, the combination of design variables with the minimum effective strain deviation in the liner forging process were obtained.

우엉뭉뚝날개나방(Tebenna issikii)에 대한 Steinernema carpocapsae GSN1 계통의 병원성 (Pathogenicity of Entomopathogenic Nematode, Steinernema carpocapsae GSN1 Strain (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae) against Tebenna issikii (Lepidoptera: Choreutidae))

  • 곤충병원성 선충을 이용하여 우엉뭉뚝날개나방 (Tebenna issikii) 에 대한 생물적 방제 가능성을 알아보기 위하여 Steinernema carpocapsae GSN1 계통을 이용하여 실내에서 실험을 수행하였다. 우엉뭉뚝 날개나방 유충 당 40 마리 이상의 S. carpocapsae GSN1 계통 처리 시 우엉뭉묵날개나방 유충은 100% 치사되었으며 반수치시농도$(LC_{50})$는 5.7마리였다. 우엉뭉묵날개나방의 유충 한 마리에 S. carpocapsae GSN1 계통 감염태 유충을 5, 10, 20, 40 및 80 마리로 접종한 결과 1.4, 1.4, 3.2, 5.6 및 11.9 마리의 선충이 침입하였는데 침입율은 5 마리 처리에서 가장 높았다. 접종 농도가 높아짐에 따라 우엉뭉뚝날개나 방 유충에서 S. carpocapsae GSN1 계통의 증식수는 증가하였다.

염해를 받은 콘크리트의 역학적 거동 및 수화 생성물 조사 (Investigation of Mechanical Behavior and Hydrates of Concrete Exposed to Chloride Ion Penetration)

  • 본 연구에서는 염해를 받은 콘크리트의 역학적 성능 평가를 수행하고, 실험 결과를 바탕으로 염소이온 농도에 따른 압축응력변형률 모델을 제시하였다. 염해를 모사하기 위해 콘크리트 배합 시 CaCl2 용액을 첨가하였으며, 염소이온의 농도는 결합재의 중량 대비 0, 1, 2, 4 %가 되도록 하였다. 콘크리트의 최대 압축응력 이후의 응력-변형률 곡선을 조사하기 위해 변위 제어를 통해 압축강도를 측정하였다. 염소이온 농도가 1 %인 경우에는 최대 압축응력이 증가하였으나, 염소이온 농도가 2 % 이상인 경우에는 최대 압축응력이 감소하였다. 최대 압축응력에서의 변형률의 경우 재령 7일의 시편에서는 염소이온 농도에 따른 경향이 나타나지 않았다. 재령 28일의 시편에서는 염소이온 농도가 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. 재령 28일의 최대 압축응력와 변형률의 변화를 이용하여 Popovics model에 기반한 응력-변형률 곡선 모델을 제시하였다. 염소이온의 농도 증가에 따른 역학적 성능 저하의 원인을 조사하기 위해 수화생성물 분석을 수행하였다. 염소이온의 농도가 증가함에 따라 Friedel's salt가 증가하고, portlandite가 감소하는 것을 확인하였다.

  • Today, In-Situ testing for measureing geotechnical characterization are divided by Cone Penetration Test, Standard Penetration Test and Dilatometer Test, and will vary depending on soil conditions have been applied (Korea Geotechnical Engineering, 2006). However, these methods can be applied on sand or soft clay soil. Now, many studies are progressing for evaluating the stiffness characteristic of rocks and IGM. and Nam moon suk(2006) did Texas Cone Penetrometer Test for designing field penetration pile intruded at rocks and IGM. but, reliability of Texas Cone Penetration Test has confidence limits because TCPT is testing in Texas centrally, and energy dose not measure Woojin Lee, etc. (1998) did calculate Standard Penetration Test Hammer's dynamic energy efficiency by using dongjaeha analyzer. this research, we installed strain gage and accelerometer for supply existing equipment, and develop MCP that can use variety soils. this thesis, we measured energy at head and tip of Rod for evaluating energy that transport at free falling. As a result, Energy differences are occurred at head and tip of Rod.

Characterization of railway substructure using a hybrid cone penetrometer

  • Changes in substructure conditions, such as ballast fouling and subgrade settlement may cause the railway quality deterioration, including the differential geometry of the rails. The objective of this study is to develop and apply a hybrid cone penetrometer (HCP) to characterize the railway substructure. The HCP consists of an outer rod and an inner mini cone, which can dynamically and statically penetrate the ballast and the subgrade, respectively. An accelerometer and four strain gauges are installed at the head of the outer rod and four strain gauges are attached at the tip of the inner mini cone. In the ballast, the outer rod provides a dynamic cone penetration index (DCPI) and the corrected DCPI (CDCPI) with the energy transferred into the rod head. Then, the inner mini cone is pushed to estimate the strength of the subgrade from the cone tip resistance. Laboratory application tests are performed on the specimen, which is prepared with gravel and sandy soil. In addition, the HCP is applied in the field and compared with the standard dynamic cone penetration test. The results from the laboratory and the field tests show that the cone tip resistance is inversely proportional to the CDCPI. Furthermore, in the subgrade, the HCP produces a high-resolution profile of the cone tip resistance and a profile of the CDCPI in the ballast. This study suggests that the dynamic and static penetration tests using the HCP may be useful for characterizing the railway substructure.

반구형과 평탄형 선단 비상체의 충돌을 받는 콘크리트의 파괴특성 (Fracture Property of Concrete on Spherical and Flat Nose Shape Projectile Impact)

  • 본 연구에서는 반구형과 평탄형의 비상체를 이용하여 일반콘크리트와 섬유보강콘크리트에 충격시험을 진행한 후 파괴깊이와 형태, 파괴직경, 배면의 인장변형을 평가하였다. 선단면적이 작을수록 충격력의 집중에 의해 파괴깊이는 크고 표면파괴 직경은 작게 되는 것으로 확인되었다. 반면에 선단면적이 클수록 파괴깊이는 작지만 표면파괴직경은 크게 되었다. 일반콘크리트와 섬유보강 콘크리트에서 유사한 표면파괴와 배면변형이 발생하였으나 인장변형의 크기는 일반콘크리트에 비해 섬유보강 콘크리트가 작은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 비상체의 선단형상에 따른 표면관입의 형태와 배면의 인장변형 사이에 직접적인 연관이 있는 것으로 사료된다. 따라서 콘크리트의 배면박리한계두께 예측 시에는 표면관입깊이뿐만 아니라 배면의 변형거동 또한 고려할 필요성이 있을 것으로 사료된다.

강교량 맞대기용접 결함부의 피로수명 평가 (Fatigue Life Assessment of Steel Bridge Butt Joint Weld with Defects)

  • There are many weld defects such as surface crack, lack of fusion, and incomplete penetration(IP) in the butt joint weld of the existing steel bridges. The crack-like defects may significantly reduce the life of the structure. This paper presents the procedure and the results of the fatigue life assessment of the butt joints with weld defects in the existing steel girder bridge. The butt joint welds with incomplete penetration were instrumented with strain gages to determine the stress histogram under normal traffic. Based on the measured stress histogram the crack propagation analysis were performed for the fatigue life assessment. By using the suggested procedure and methodology, one can decide the time of periodic inspection and the necessity of repair of the butt joint welds with serious weld defects in the existing steel bridge.
