In this paper, the results of Planar Motion Mechanism (PMM) test for a 1/15 scaled model of the MARIN Joubert BB2 submarine is dealt with to derive the maneuvering coefficients for surface condition. For the depth of surface navigation, the top of the sail was exposed 0.46 m above the water surface in the model scale, and it corresponds to 6.9 m in the full scale. The resistance and self-propulsion tests were conducted, and the model's self-propulsion point was obtained for 1.328 m/s, which corresponded to 10 knots in the full scale. The maneuvering tests were performed at the model's self-propulsion point, and the maneuvering coefficients were obtained. Based on the maneuvering coefficients, a turning simulation was performed for starboard 30 degree of stern fins. The straight-line stability and control effectiveness in the horizontal plane were analyzed using the maneuvering coefficients and compared with the appropriate range. For the analysis of the neutral fin angle of the X-type stern fin, the stern fin test with drift angles was carried out. As a result, the flow straightening effect at lower and upper parts of the stern fin was discussed.
This study build finite element analysis (FEA) models describing the bending events of coiled tubing (CT) at the wellhead and trips into the hole, accurately provide the state of stress and strain while the CT is in service. The bending moment and axial force history curves are used as loads and boundary conditions in the diametrical growth models to ensure consistency with the actual working conditions in field operations. The simulation diametrical growth results in this study are more accurate and reasonable. Analysis the factors influencing fatigue and diametrical growth shows that the internal pressure has a first-order influence on fatigue, followed by the radius of the guide arch, reel and the CT diameter. As the number of trip cycles increase, fatigue damage, residual stress and strain cumulatively increase, until CT failure occurs. Significant residual stresses remain in the CT cross-section, and the CT exhibits a residual curvature, the initial residual bending configuration of CT under wellbore constraints, after running into the hole, is sinusoidal. The residual stresses and residual bending configuration significantly decrease the buckling load, making the buckling and buckling release of CT in the downhole an elastic-plastic process, exacerbating the helical lockup. The conclusions drawn in this study will improve CT models and contribute to the operational and economic success of CT services.

Key factors affecting the mode share of Soul metro are investigated. The log-regression model, which can describe the elasticity of the factors with ease, is established rather than the conventional mode choice model is used. The log-regression model requires lower level of data availability for calibration and identifies the impact of the factors on mode share straightforwardly. As a result, it is found that the main reasons why the current mode share of railway is low are due to several problems such as winding lines, inconvenient transfers and unnecessary bypasses. The calibrated model is adopted to evaluate the network reshuffling alternatives. The network reshuffling is to rearrange the existing inefficient railway lines that have frequent transfers and many winding segments. The proposed network reshuffling, which includes straightening winding lines and changing grade separated transfers into cross-platform transfers, turned out to be a good measure to tackle the problems.

If there is no choice but to be urbanized, we should examine how human interference has had influences on the area to keep the river environment safe and stable. This study is aimed at finding improvement by examining the effect of human interference in Gapcheon river in Daejeon, which is developing fast. Distinctive features of human interference in Gapcheon river are followings. First, middle and upper reaches of Gapcheon river are being maintained and restored focusing on flood control but are scheduled to develop city and channel. Second, the rear area of middle and lower reaches of Gapcheon river is already developed into an urban district and solidified into artificial stream for leisure activities installing the artificial structure for fun. Third, lower reaches of Gapcheon river are in an unstable condition because of straightening waterway and developing rear area of river. Up to now, geographical features and bio-diversity of Gapcheon river has been ruined by the artificial management of river centered for technical engineering. From now on, followings should be considered for management of urban river. First, it is focused on maintaining eco system by itself than usage for human. Second, natural features of rear area of river should be taken into consideration and should be preserved before developing urban city and hills, back marsh, channel deposit and swamp to directly have an influence on river.
Objectives : To compare the differences between the symptoms and the findings of MRI(magnetic resonance imaging) and x-ray, we studied the patients with neck pain or radiating pain, which has been diagnosed as cervical herniated disc recently. Methods : We randomly selected among the 143 patients with x-ray and cervical spine(C-spine) MRI films who have visited Ja-seng hospital with neck pain and neck and radiating pain from April 1 of 2010 to May 1. We used SPSS 13.0 for windows in analyzing statistical data of study results and the level of significance was below 0.05. Results : 1. There were no significant differences between the presence of radiating pain and the amount of cervical herniation(p>0.05). 2. If the finding of a x-ray showed narrowing, based on MRI findings, the amount of herniation was more severe(p>0.05). 3. There were no significant differences between the presence of radiating pain and the findings of x-ray(p>0.05). 4. Among the 143 cases, which showed findings beside HIVD(herniation of intervertebral disc) were 13 cases. 88 cases of straightening(61.5%). 78 cases of uncovertebral joint arthrosis(54.5%). 25 cases of stenosis(17.5%), 13 cases of retrolisthesis(9.1%), 8 cases of osteophyte(6.6%), 4 cases of spondylolisthesis(2.8%), 2 cases of hemangioma(1.4%), 3 cases of OPLL(ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament)(2.1%), 2 cases of block vertebrae(1.4%), 2 cases of spondylitis(1.4%), 1 case of kyphosis(0.1) and 1 case of ligamentum flavum hypertrophy(0.1%). Conclusions : The findings from this study suggest that there was no relation between radiating pain and radiological result. On the other hand, diagnosis of x-ray and MRI showed significant relevance. The narrower disc space there were, the severer the state of herniation there existed.

Purpose: This study investigates morphologic change of the rectosigmoid colon using a belly board in prone position and distended bladder in patients with rectal cancer. We evaluate the possibility of excluding the proximal margin of anastomosis from the radiation field by straightening the rectosigmoid colon. Materials and Methods: Nineteen patients who received preoperative radiotherapy between 2006 and 2009 underwent simulation in a prone position (group A). These patients were compared to 19 patients treated using a belly board in prone position and a distended bladder protocol (group B). Rectosigmoid colon in the pelvic cavity was delineated on planning computed tomography (CT) images. A total dose of 45 Gy was planned for the whole pelvic field with superior margin of the sacral promontory. The volume and redundancy of rectosigmoid colon was assessed. Results: Patients in group B had straighter rectosigmoid colons than those in group A (no redundancy; group A vs. group B, 10% vs. 42%; p = 0.03). The volume of rectosigmoid colon in the radiation field was significantly larger in group A (56.7 vs. 49.1 mL; p = 0.009). In dose volume histogram analysis, the mean irradiated volume was lower in patients in group B (V45 27.2 vs. 18.2 mL; p = 0.004). In Pearson correlation coefficient analysis, the in-field volume of rectosigmoid colon was significantly correlated with the bladder volume (R = 0.86, p = 0.003). Conclusion: Use of a belly board and distended bladder protocol could contribute to exclusion of the proximal margin of anastomosis from the radiation field.

In this study, the assessment scheme has been developed to evaluate the ecological function of rivers which were changed by the river improvement project. The evaluating factors are composed of physical structure in river channels and ecological connectivity in river areas, and each value of the factors is quantified based on 4 and 2 variables, respectably. This scheme was applied to past (1918, before artificial river improvement) and present Mankyung River area. A GIS model was adopted for calculating, analysing, and presenting river ecological conditions using the 204 grids and 7 reaches in study area. Comparison results show that the evaluation grade was decreased in both factors after river improvement. The main causes of lower grade (from II to IV) for physical structure are the river straightening and crossing structures. The reduction (from II to III) in ecological connectivity grade effected by linear fragmentation due to roads and rails is found to be greater than areal fragmentation due to land-use. In particular, it is also found that a high degree of ecological connectivity in 1918 was distributed along the river, but that one in 2007 showed a tendency to scatter because of the construction of levee and increase of urbanized area.

Though radiation test, the most was cervical spine sprain(76.7%), followed by straightening of lumbar spine(66.7%). 6. In the periods of admission, less than 7 days was the most(53.3%), followed by less than 14 days(35.9%). 7. The treatment was effective to 93 patient out of 106 who had been hospitalized for less than 14 days. Conclusions : This data suggested that the Oriental medical care could be more effective treatment about traffic accidental patients without surgical injury.
River is able to change by various environmental factors. In order to conduct restoration design of abandoned river channels, it is necessary to evaluate the river through the analysis of past and present river channels. River evaluation requires various data, such as geometry, hydraulic and hydrology, but there is a lot of difficulty to understand topographical information of river change on time and space due to a lack of past data by domestic conditions. This study analyzes the changes in past and present river channels and examines the applicability of river channel evaluation through image analysis using aerial photographs and 1918 year's map. Aerial photograph analysis was conducted by applying the image analysis method and GIS analysis method on Cheongmicheon. As a result of this analysis, we have quantitatively identified the form and size of abandoned channels, changes in the vertical-section and cross-section length of rivers, and micro-landform changes. More importantly, we verified that morphological changes in sandbars due to artificial straightening are important data in identifying the state of current river channels. In these results, although image analysis technique has limitations in two-dimensional information from aerial photographs, we were able to evaluate the changes in river channel morphology after artificial maintenance of the river.
